Hostel has potential to be great but perhaps it was just our trip. I usually don't leave unfavourable reviews but disappointed by experience. Both of us are well experienced backpackers and used to many hostels. Excellent host, but lack of explaining of things (where things are etc). Only one toilet / shower for over 15 guests. Shower located in laundry (very busy as house keeping girls working all day). Kitchen left a huge mess for house keeping girls to clean the next day (we cleaned our own dishes as is usual at hostels). Had to move rooms later at night with no warning (seems to be a lot of disorganization). Hostel owner was no where around all day and house keeping girl had to organize rooms, check people in etc (with limited English but she definitely did her best). Moved to back room house with no plug ins or wifi. Potential is there to be an amazing hostel. Host is very nice and lots of great stories etc but could use a bit more organization/washrooms etc.

The level of equipment in the hotel rooms meets 4-star requirements and the spaciousness of the rooms means they will accommodate 3-5 guests with the use of extra beds. Hotel guests can conveniently reach one of the largest spa centres in Estonia directly from their rooms. The spacious but cosy pool and a sauna world with a glass roof is located on the 4th floor of the hotel.
Absolutely perfect stay. Good location, in the centre of everything. Room was clean and spacious. Breakfast super good. Monday morning was nice and calm. Coffee could be a bit better quality though :) I recommend to everybody.

I had a wonderful time visiting my daughter. Your hotel made the stay all the more enjoyable. I highly recommend staying here as it is quiet, comfortable and centrally located. Just be careful around the square and parking fines.

The Antonius is a charming and luxurious boutique hotel in the centre of Tartu, directly opposite the university. On the four floors of the hotel, there are 27 rooms. The decoration and design of each room was carefully chosen and thought out, combining special colour and wallpaper patterns, wall paintings, fireplaces, stoves, and antique furniture. Some rooms have amazing views of nearby Tartu University, while others face the old town’s red roofs. The Antonius Hotel is located in a building with a long and dignified history, being first mentioned in the historical records of the 16th century. During the subsequent centuries the building was home to a hat shop, the Livonian Noblemen’s Manor House Credit Association, and the famous Guild of Saint Antonius.
Deluxe room is large and so beautiful. Loved the bathroom and bathtub. Good location just next to the University and Rüütli street. Royal feeling and style in the rooms. Good breakfast, champagne and made-to-order eggs to get the day started.

Renovated in May 2020! Renovated Art hotel Pallas is a three star, superior hotel that offers comfortable accommodation in the downtown of Tartu at affordable rates. You will be enchanted by the excellent location, modernist glass facade and interior design, inspired by the works of the artists from the Pallas School. The hotel has 62 hotel rooms, divided between three floors, offering a view of the busiest quarter of Tartu town centre or a peaceful courtyard. The hotel has special rooms for people with allergies and special needs. Parking area for the hotel guests can be found from the courtyard and is accessible via Aleksandri and Soola Street.
Me and my family stayed in Pallas for one night and everything was just great (so it'll be a short review). The room was fresh, clean and quiet, the staff friendly and you cannot beat the location of the hotel (dead centre of Tartu). The breakfast is served in Reval Cafe next door and it was really good with exceptional coffee. The only thing that can be tricky is the parking as there are limited spaces in the hotel parking lot but we were lucky to grab the last spot. So definitely a very recommended place.

If you’re looking for things to do, you can check out AHHAA Science Centre (0.4 mi), Tartu Old City (0.9 mi), or Tartu University Botanical Garden (1.1 mi), which are popular attractions amongst tourists, and they are all within walking distance. We’re sure you’ll enjoy your stay at Hansa Hotel as you experience all of the things Tartu has to offer.
Me and my family stayed in Hansa hotel in December as we were invited to the event that took place next door. For sightseeing Tartu, it's a bit off the centre. The room was interesting-looking and huge, there is a "Hunting lodge/Western"-type theme going on throughout the hotel. It was a bit cold in the beginning but after couple of hours the room fortunately warmed up nicely. Otherwise it was clean and we got a baby cot in the room free of charge. The breakfast was good but we really missed something sweet with our coffee. Pancakes, pastries, anything, even bread and jam would have been fine but they did not have anything that morning. So all in all an average experience - nothing to complain about too much but nothing to praise about either.

The Barclay hotel in the very heart of Tartu is a pleasant and comfortable place to stay for holidaymakers and businessmen. In the hotel we have a conference hall with 80 seats and a meeting room for 10 persons. Throughout the hotel we offer complimentary wireless internet to all guests. In addition, we provide additional services: currency exchange, ordering taxi, laundry, fax services, use of computer, transfers.
We stayed at the suite with sauna over NYE. The location is stellar for anyone looking to spend time in the center as everything is just a few minutes away. As mentioned before by others, the place might look a bit outdated, but personally I wasn't bothered by it. It was mostly clean with a few exceptions like the faucets in the bathroom. We really enjoyed the sauna - it heated up fast and it also has a timer if you don't want to wait around for it to warm up. The only downside were the towels as they were quite small and there weren't enough to have something around you between taking steams for lounging around and then a dry one for drying yourself off after finishing and taking a shower. Robes were not provided. We wanted to have another session in the morning as well and for that the receptionist was very helpful by providing us with some new towels. The room also has a balcony facing the park in front of the house. This is also the direction of windows. Even with the hustle and bustle of NYE we still got a decent night sleep. We also didn't hear other people in the hotel, so that's a big plus. The breakfast is modest, but filling - a few types of sliced meats, one type of cheese, some cereals, some fruit, slices of tomatoes and cucumbers, omelette, sausages and bacon come to mind. Me and my partner were satisfied, but it can be disappointing for someone with food allergies or vegetarian/vegan diet.

We spent one night while travelling through Estonia. Our room was comfortable and clean, the other rooms were busy but we didn’t hear them at night which meant we had a great sleep. Breakfast was very good and filling, you select the items the night before. We had dinner here and it was excellent. All plates we had. Sven was the main employee we interacted with during our stay and he was great. Friendly chatty, would offer suggestions of what to eat and drink which were all perfect for us. We stay here again and definitely have dinner again.

The Aleksandri Hotel is located in the centre of Tartu, close to the Emajogi River and just a short walk from the old town and the shopping centres. Built in 1880 and turned into a hotel in 2002, the Aleksandri offers free wireless internet access and free use of internet-connected computers in the lobby. There are free guarded parking spaces. The hotel features an a la carte restaurant, a beauty and health centre with infrared saunas and a solarium, and a room for people with allergies. Guests can enjoy live music in the hotel pub.
Good locations for the price, not far from the center. Room didn’t have a air conditioning, so it was hot! There was a fan, but it didn’t help at all. Breakfast was quite expensive and bad. The bed was hard, and the hotel felt a little bit dirty. A lot of parking spaces for the guest tho.
