Reviewed By FreddieMercury1After booking into a different hotel for the first night of our stay in Steyr and being thoroughly disappointed, we were fortunate enough to be able to book a suite in the Mader Hotel for the last two nights of our stay. Sarah on reception, was extremely helpful and booked us into the bridal suite, which was perfect. It was spacious, peaceful, luxurious, comfortable and relaxing. It was furnished with a large, comfortable sofa, a desk, with mini bar and hospitality tray. There was a large flat screen TV, which was perfect for my husband to watch football! The bathroom had a bath tub and a separate shower. Everything was finished to an extremely high standard. We couldn't have asked for a better room. Breakfast is taken in the conservatory or outside in the courtyard. There is plenty of bread, meat, cheese, cereal, fruit, yoghurt and cooked breakfast items available. The hotel is on the main street of Steyr. There is limited short term parking available outside the hotel, but you can drop your luggage off, then park at a nearby longstay carpark, which is €6 a day when you purchase a ticket from reception. There are also a few parking spaces available in the hotel garage, which is separate from the hotel. These have to be booked well in advance. We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to staying again. Most definitely recommended! Thank you!

Gut für einen Business Trip
Reviewed By Ca_133Die Lage des Hotels ist perfekt für einen Business Trip. Würde es aber für einen privaten Aufenthalt in Steyr nicht in Erwägung ziehen. Die Zimmer sind modern, sauber und verfügen über eine gute Ausstattung. Das Frühstücksbuffet biete einen gute Auswahl - hier könnte man aber mit frischem Obst oder etwas Besonderem (Croissants, Birchermüsli, etc.) aber noch etwas optimieren. Das Personal am Empfang hat mich leider etwas enttäuscht. Ich wurde zwar sofort bedient, aber Aussagen wie "oh ich finde Ihre Reservierung nicht, ah doch" oder "Ihre Karte funktioniert nicht, das kann nicht sein" finde ich nach einem stressigen Tag nicht optimal.

The location is perfect, very friendly staff, great rooms, realy good food and being a family business, the owner is a very kind and nice person... Reviewed By GunillaN570A very nice old hotel in the middle of the old center plaza, BUT 3 days with 34 degrees outside and no air conditioning, not even a fan in the room. This made it totally impossible to sleep. Not the most exiting breakfast.

Wonderful Family Run Business!
Reviewed By onejasonmurrayThis stay was booked on my behalf by my employer. A trip into the unknown. It turned out to be a very pleasant stay. The motel is a family run business in their old farm building, that has been recently renovated. My room (with en-suite) was fresh and modern and had a lovely view towards a farmers field and the River Steyr's valley beyond. Breakfast was served in a multi-functional area, encompassing the Reception. Here you will also find the Restaurant where you can get reasonably priced good tasting local food and drink! There always seemed to be locals eating here (a good sign in my opinion!) The family were very friendly and willing to share their local knowledge. Think next time i'll take my family!

When we arrived, I was convinced that we had been allocated a standard double in error, as there was nothing luxurious about the room. I was assured that the room was definitely a suite. Certainly not what I expected. They told me that it was one of their better rooms. There was a small area with a desk and a small sofa bed. The mini bar was empty. The hotelier told me that it was due to Covid and had been like that since the lockdown in Austria had been lifted. I had been to hotels in Salzburg and Melk in the last few months, that had fully equipped mini bars. There were no gowns. This was again explained as due to Covid. We were supplied with them, when we asked. The view from the room was the main redeeming point. We were offered a reduction in the cost of the hard to rectify the problem. I find it difficult to comprehend how the hotel achieved four stars. It certainly wasn't what I'd expect from a four star hotel.

Needs a restyling...in manners

The very problem is the staff, absolutely arrogant and unpolite even though one speaks German. The same unpoliteness showed by the staff of the breakfast..... no "goodmorning" entering the room. Never again.

Good food, really slow staff, unsafe baby equipment
Reviewed By mmariannka88We visited the place on 1 January 2020 in Steyr where this was one of the few restaurants open. The place is nice, however a but overcrowded and really really really slow. It took the waiter 15 minutes to even bring us the - wrong - menu, then also some time to get the right one. The worst was that we had to wait 20 minutes for the bill. The food was tasty though. Another thing: the baby chair was rather unsafe plus the nappy changer looked so dangerous that I was thinking about not to change the baby's nappy...

Cozy wellness trip
Reviewed By 779marybethkThis hotel is easy to get to if you don't have a car. They are friendly and helpful. They offer a free shuttle to eat meals in their partner hotel, which has a great view. The private day Spa is a huge highlight for us to use. But even without that the hotel room is so nice. Clean, and had everything you need. The pear cider in the mini bar was great for non beer drinkers We will go back for sure!
