Hotel Szieszta is the biggest hotel in Sopron, situated right next to a five-acre green park in the Lővérek forest, in a peaceful, quiet and representative environment, just in a 15-minute walk from the town’s historic downtown.
Worst hotel ever! Dirty rooms, no cleaning, even if you ask they don’t do anything. Unpleasant stuff. We stayed for almost three weeks. During this time they cleaned my room only 3 times. Each time I had to ask for it specially, but they never washed the bath tub or the sink during three weeks. The rooms are badly maintained, the furnitures are old. All together the exterior feels like a time travel to the ‘80s. The mattress was too soft. They have pool which was smelly and green from algae... horrible experience

In the heart of the historic town, this hotel, built in 1893, is the oldest in Sopron and is just in the city center. It offers a fusion of traditional and modern hospitality. Free Wi-Fi and a large spa area are provided, as well as a private garage. The hotel includes individually furnished rooms with a flat-screen TV, a minibar and a bathroom. Some come with antique furniture. In summer, the hotel opens its terrace and the roof-garden with its sunbathing terrace. There is also a restaurant which serves a breakfast buffet and a 3-course dinner option. Guests can enjoy the cafe, open during the day. Close to the Austrian border and a one hour drive from Vienna (43 miles), the hotel is west of Budapest (137 miles). During your stay, you can explore the historic quarter center of Sopron, rich in monuments.
The hotel is a classic style hotel with excellent location and pleasant rooms. The garage and the location are perfect if you want to stay in the city centre and arrive by car. The staff is nice and the hotel is clean. A nice stay.

Summary: we (2 adults, one 12 year old) stayed for 5 nights in August for about 180K HUF (about $120 USD/night at the time). This included breakfast, soup at lunch, and dinner. Positives: Location, fresh food and variety, access to outdoor activities, bike rentals, safe for valuables, price, friendly staff, good lobby. Needs to improve: some A/C please, larger more modern bathrooms. We really liked quick and easy access to the forest trails (big thumbs up after a large meal). You could also walk to old town in 35 minutes or take a bus just outside the hotel. I was impressed by the food since there was always fresh fruit and vegetables available for breakfast and dinner. Lots of choices (even for Vegetarian). Even the bread was good (more than just the national favorite white bread). I rented a bike in the morning and did a beautiful loop to Austria and back (part of it on the "Iron Curtain" trail). If you go during summer, I'm told the food variety is better, but it can get really hot in the rooms on the west side.

Everything about this lovely historic hotel that is family run is filled with character. Right from the sweet old gentleman who welcomed us with a tune from a Raj Kapoor movie to the nooks and corners of this heritage mansion. A stay here feels like living and breathing a bit of the heritage of this medieval town, as much as exploring the wonders outside. LOCATION: Fantastic location in the ancient quarter of the town withing steps away from all key points of interest DINE + DRINK: They have a lovely Weinstube right inside the property, a rustic restaurant as well as a sweet little bar next to the reception filled with characterful wooden fittings. ROOM: We stayed in one of the double rooms in the first floor so this review is based on that; VIEW: sweet view of the courtyard below; SIZE: Very spacious room; AIR-CON: No Airconditioner in the room! So be warned if you are coming during warmer weather!!; BED: Comfortable bed that played the expected part to put me to sleep; BATHROOM: Stand in shower; TOILETRIES: Basic local cosmetics. FACILITIES: No Gym of Pool, pure heritage indulgence and chill. SERVICE: Friendly staff that took care of all our needs with a smile and made us feel pampered and well taken care of. Special Shout out to NIKKI who enhanced our welcome experience and her father who checked us in. HOW WIRED YOU WILL BE: Mindblowingly high-speed Wi-Fi that works well all over the property. Small Plasma TV screen dishing out a limited set of sports, news, music, movies and a wide variety of entertainment in multiple languages

Before booking make sure there is no event at the Hotel. They did not mention prior to booking, not even on the Hotels website. Music was super loud so We end up going home with little sleep. They offered a quieter room but 2 separate beds. Is not ideal for a romantic weekend. Disappointing. The Hotel did not want to compensate for the inconvenience. Spa area small. The infra cabin worked only for 5 min. Breakfast was OK. Rooms are Oke size but the pillows are flattened out. Bit of wear and tear.

It is not the first time I am sleeping in this hotel. The hotel has nice modern/classic rooms and a very good restaurant where I always enjoy a fantastic Wiennerschnitzel. Location is very good as it is on the way entering Sopron from Austria. On the other side of the road there is a nice shopping mall with a Pub and one Pizzeria.

NTAK: PA19001626 The Erhardt Restaurant and Pension is a family hotel situated in the historical downtown of Sopron, in long-ago ,,poncichter" quarter, 200 meters far from the Firetower, the symbol of Sopron. It has a garden, a vinotheque, two wine-cellars, an a la carte restaurant and a pension. The main aim of the family is to manage the house in harmony with the past and to show the soproner wineregion and use the local soproner wines. The pension provides nine rooms, four of them with a beautiful panorama to the garden and to the city center with the Firetower. There is a family room as well with two separated chambers, and we can provide a childrenbed as well. All of the rooms have an own modern bathroom and into some of them we can settle an extra bed. The price of the room contains the breakfast with fresh home-baked bread with home-made marmalade, with coffee and tea, juices, fruits and the guest can choose from a breakfast menu (with a range of egg-dishes) as well. The pension provides an own save parking place (Halasz street 7.) Which can be used for free. The pension provides an a la Carte restaurant. The kitchen is international but the guests can find hungarian specialities and dishes and we offer seasonal specialities as well. And our guests can buy excellent wines in the vinotheque, which offers a wide selection from the hungarian wine regions. The pension has two old wine-cellars which is able to receive 70-80 person. The restaurant is open to organise weddings, wine dinners and other possibilities for groups as well. For families, friends of wines or business-travellers who are looking for a hotel in Sopron, our pension can be a good alternative. The Erhardt Pension Restaurant and bakery are just steps away from the center of Sopron in a beautiful old building with a very nice shaded dining courtyard. There are some newly renovated rooms and some older but nice rooms plus additional rooms in another building. I stayed three nights in a renovated room which was large and very nice. I added an extra night but could only get one of the older rooms which was fine but I recommend booking the newer rooms (the price is a bit higher). Buffet breakfast is included in the booking, its pretty standard although they own a retail bakery (on site) so the bread is excellent. Their restaurant is a destination all on its own and highly regarded by the locals. The food and wine are very special. The staff overall are very kind and welcoming. This is a charming Inn in the center of town with clean comfortable rooms and excellent food and wines and all at a reasonable price. It is a rewarding travel experience.

We stayed 3 nights, second floor, with view at the street. Nicely decorated rooms, clean, but quite small. Very nice and helpful receptionists! The hotel is situated on a fairly quiet street in the old town. Very small and tight parking in the inner courtyard, very narrow gate, paid additionally 10EUR/night (max. 8 cars). Coffee facilities at the room but only 2 capsules of coffee and 2 with tea - if you want more you have to pay at the reception. Safe box at the room. Breakfasts are good and varied. The only drawback can be quite noisy groups of youth excursions, both in the corridors and at breakfast area. Generally, a hotel worth recommending, especially if someone cares about parking.

Hunting Horn, the family restaurant and inn.Our inn offers well-equipped, carefully furnished and spacious rooms and is located in the green belt environment of Sopron, but it is also close to the centre of the town.We are waiting for you with a cellar full of wine and a restaurant offering real, home-made Hungarian and international dishes.
I spent three days in this fantastic accomodation with my family and it is highly recommended! The room is spacious enough, well equipped, bright and super silent in a very nice neighbourhood. Even if I can only say positive things about the accomodation itself, the best of this place is the service. The owner and his wife are friendly and nice with the guests and the food was amazing. The breakfast was included in the price and we also tried the restaurant for dinner and was a very good idea: delicious and not expensive. I wish we could have stayed more nights there!

We were satisfied after all, the room was really clean, had unique interior, amazing bathroom and furniture. Super price-value ratio, only downside is that audio sealing is not proper, we heard upper neighbors and the neighbors toilet.
