I have been caring for a family member who had major surgery and the sleepless nights and anxiety began to create tension in my body. It was so good to get to the spa and have a wonderful massage and float in the spring waters. AND the cafe food was so delicious. The day was so healing.

Nestled into a hillside and surrounded by oak and olive trees in the heart of Sonoma wine country, Olea Hotel is a small boutique hotel with unique amenities, modern guest rooms, and an exceptional breakfast experience.
We stayed here for 3 nights, and I cannot rate this amazing hotel highly enough it was absolutely superb. Staff: The staff were absolutely brilliant! Kind, helpful, nothing was too much trouble for anyone. Absolutely everyone we interacted with went out of their way and above and beyond to make sure our stay was enjoyable. The staff on the front desk were so welcoming and just were lovely people to talk to. The waiting staff were super nice and friendly and everyone seemed super happy to be there. We also had a really great massage treatment. Rooms Amazing!! Huge comfortable beds, great bathroom modern room and super comfortable. Grounds Beautifully kept and the fire pitt was fabulous plenty of places to relax and watch the world go by with some wine. Pool was awesome and a lovely hot tub, clean rest rooms and lots of fresh towels and sun loungers. Food Breakfast was the best breakfast I've had anywhere to be honest. I fully agree with all the positive comments on here about the breakfasts, to put it into context I travel all over the world staying in 5 star hotels on a regular basis! sorry ritz carlton but Olea beats you hands down on the breakfast front. Food was super healthy and a well thought out 2 course menu that was tasty and set you up for the day. Location: Great location there are a decent amount of restaurants to walk to within about 10 minutes you will not go hungry, the road is narrow but there is a back route you can take to avoid traffic. It's close to loads of great vineyards and easy to explore the whole area. And a brilliant place to base yourself, there is also a huge grocery store in the village that has everything you could need. Overall I can't recommend this little gem highly enough, I would also add there are super nice touches such as wine in the afternonn/evening where you can just pour yourself. Tea coffee etc is also available all day from reception you just help yourself. We absolutely loved our trip and can't wait to return. Huge thank you to the amazing kind staff for making our stay so enjoyable.

This is a great little inn. Great location just minutes away to downtown. I prefer this place because it was quiet and away from the crowds. We had a wonderful experience here from check-in to check-out. Neeka at the front desk was very helpful and accommodating. Our room was clean and comfortable and we had a patio with a garden view which was wonderful. The garden area had a large water fountain surrounded by lush green trees and plants. Nice continental breakfast included. Pool was open 24/7. Highly recommend this place and will stay here again.

Checked into this hotel for the first time for a three-day wedding weekend in Sonoma. At check-in, a welcome glass of champaign was preceded by a warm smile, always the nicest way to start a mini vacation. Got room 4, smallish but with a large balcony overlooking the square. Complimentary coffee and tea in the morning from 6 to 11 am. Ice water available all day and night. Bikes also available for easy pedaling around this quaint (and relatively flat) paradise. The hotel's restaurant is delicious, with a lovely patio for lunch and maybe a warm night and a beautiful inside dining room where I recommend getting a table on the periphery, preferably by the window. The wait staff and hostesses were warm, personable, helpful, seeming to like each other and the menu. The entire staff was great. The women of the cleaning staff who showed up at 6:30 to start their day's work were also very friendly, speaking both Spanish and English and chatting among each other and sharing jokes and laughter before they buckled down to a long, hard day. Basically, this was a bright, clean, quality hotel. Thin walls, soft, squishy pillows are the only drawbacks, but other little details like cold bottled water, a nice variety of snacks in the room more than make up for this, as does proximity to excellent local restaurants (The Girl and The Fig, the Basque Bakery where you must try the raisin-apple muffins - OMG - and so on) ... enjoy the search for for your own favorites, this beautiful, comfortable hotel with the friendly staff will be waiting for you.

Sonoma Creek Inn's 16 updated hotel rooms don't skimp on amenities. Many rooms have private outdoor patios or porches - just the ticket for relaxation after a busy day exploring the wine country. Available select times of the year, unbeatable specials, discounts and packages are offered. The neighborhood is close to wineries, parks and the downtown area of Sonoma is just a short drive away, with its historic Plaza, innovative restaurants and enticing shops. Our staff are always happy to assist with recommendations for local adventures.
Found this hotel on line and was pleasently surprised. There are a few restaurants near by but downtown Sonoma is a number of blocks away. The rooms were small but comfortable and clean with free wifi. Boyes Blvd which is right behind the hotel felt like a racetrack at night which was loud at times but died down usualy by 10pm. This is a no frills hotel so if you want all the fluff and buff you need to book elsewher but if you want a nice small hotel with a comfortable bed and a clean room this is your place. There wasn't a chest of drawers in our room but there might be in others for we just had a small closet. There was a tv and as I said free wifi. There are two rooms on the second level so if you have trouble climbing stairs you will want to pick a downstairs room since there isn't a elevator.

A vintage historic hotel on the downtown plaza in Sonoma. Unique rooms, some with clawfoot tubs and a view of the plaza.
The two big pluses for the Sonoma Hotel are location and character. It sits on the edge of the main square and gives easy access to many restaurants and bars. It's an old building by American standards and the owners have retained its charm with sympathetic décor. I would only recommend the hotel for a stay of one or two nights as its age impacts significantly on storage space. We had to live out of our suitcases; our room had a tiny wardrobe and no drawer storage. There was a double size shower but the washbasin was in the corner of the bedroom which, unlike most modern hotels had a standard double bed rather than a queen or king size. The reception staff were friendly and helpful.

This review is regarding renting out a room, not attending an event. Stayed here for a few nights recently while exploring Sonoma wine country. The location is great, just a 10-minute walk from the Sonoma town square. The grounds are also inviting and clean. The biggest problem was the room. My wife and I stayed in room 1. It was very spacious and clean, and had a very nice upgraded looking bathroom; however, the room had some odd features that made the stay less enjoyable. For one, room one didn't have side tables next to the bed. Instead, it had a shelf behind the bed, which is awkward to use. The A/C was very powerful, but so much so that it was a bit over to top loud when turning on. There were no window treatments on the windows, just blinds. The tv is miniature, maybe 19", and it very far from the bed, and also situated up on a high shelf off to the side, which made it unusable. The bed was also very soft. That might be ok for some, but for me, it made my back ache. The room had so much potential, but it seems like it was put together by someone who didn't know what they were doing. Looking at pictures, the other rooms seem to be better.

The word “lodge”in the name is misleading; this is a MOTEL with no common space to gather in other than the pool area. The website shows the 4 remodeled rooms but doesn’t reflect the 18 dated rooms out of the 1970’s. We were in room number 3. The rooms have no charm, they aren’t lodge feeling or reminiscent of a Jack London novel. The bed and chairs were very comfortable but the tops of the bedside tables were badly bubbled and the linoleum in the bathroom was burnt. The shower/tub was tiny. There was adequate air conditioning and heat and hot water. You could clearly hear the rooms upstairs. Housekeeping did a great job but overall attention to detail was not there; burnt out bedside light and entry light. The refrigerator was set to freeze and the ice bucket was too small for cooling a bottle of wine. It wasn’t a problem for us but the office has limited attendance which could make it hard to get support (or a spare key if you lock yours inside). The location is terrific, the price was reasonable but I’d have paid more for a remodeled room and there was plenty of parking.
