Five beautiful days in Koh Rong Sanloem, staying in a beachfront bungalow. We travelled in May and whilst it was grey and rainy all the way from Siem Reap to Sihanoukville, the weather on KRS was perfect. We made full use of all the on-site facilities and so enjoyed our stay. The staff were amazing, the cocktails were excellent, and the pool was beautiful. We booked our snorkeling trip, evening plankton tour and jet-ski hire through Miss Lily and were not disappointed. Many other guests we spoke to had already stayed at The One Resort before, and we will also be back for future stays. Also, book in for a beachfront dinner next door at Moonlight Resort and order the grilled crab with green Kampot pepper: Oh my!

I think just coming out of Covid the hotel was at a low capacity. It felt weird not to see other people but we loved having the run of the place. We played ping pong, billiards, enjoyed the sunset and our super comfortable beds. The bathroom has a see though window into the main bedroom which is cool. Monkeys run wild in the driveway. The breakfast buffet was plentiful.

Reserve your spot at the most epic backpacker resort in Southeast Asia! Mad Monkey Koh Rong Samloem is located on its own private bay with golden sands and azure blue waters. We have beachfront bungalows and shared dorms overlooking our private bay, a sprawling social area, and an incredible pier bar in the middle of the ocean. Kayak, snorkel, lounge in our ocean hammocks, or go on a fishing trip while meeting over a hundred other travelers from around the world.
Throughout my backpacking trip in Cambodia I have stayed at various mad monkey hostels which I have highly recommend to other traveler's the standard has always been set very high. Unfortunately this hostel does not live up to its name, I understand this hostel is on a remote island and the amenities will be different from the one in Phnom Penh the city and Siem Reap. Once we arrived on Koh Rong Samloen we were left at the pier for nearly 2 hours as the hostel forgot to pick us up to take us on their boat to the island the hostel is on, we had called and was told 20 mins and they arrived nearly 1 hour and a half later. The rooms are extremely dated with holes in the walls which allowed an infestation of ants all over the room, huge lizards above the bed etc. We had to sleep with jumpers on as during the 3 days here we were woken up with what looked like bed bugs bites all over us and after to speaking with other guests they had the same marks on them! These were NOT mosquito bites! They do provide mosquito nets however they are ripped and have holes in them so defeats the purpose. Also the door from the outside doesn’t LOCK! i have never experienced this before after speaking with a guest who turned out to be volunteering here his words were “well every backpacker is in the same position we should all trust each other” that’s all good and well if they provide lockers inside the room which can fit your bag, again there isn’t! There is a tiny locker which can fit a passport in it, that’s it. The hostel has a policy where they take 0 responsibility for missing items etc however if they cannot provide a basic lock on the door I think they should be held accountable if anything went missing. Absolutely no security here what so ever. The prices for food and drink are extremely expensive (on par with UK prices for food) the food is good however extremely over priced. Once you are at this hostel you cannot leave unless you go via boat which goes 4 times a day, if you miss the boat back over which is at 4pm you are stranded on the other island so leaves you no option to pay the ridiculous prices for food as you feel stuck. The location itself is very beautiful, the beach is very clean so we spent our time at the beach and did enjoy our time there. Our biggest and main concern was the wrist band and not being able to pay anything in cash, we arrived and could choose how much we wanted to put on our wrist band which we knew would last our stay here.. the hostel was 60 dollars for the few night which left us with 40 dollars left to spend on food and soft drinks (we made the decision to not drink alcohol here as the prices were so high) so we knew this budget would be ok. It was also only for 2 days! We were over charged meals and promised refunds the next day.. the next day arrived the guy behind the bar “forgot” he promised us this and insinuated we were lying. When he finally remembered his words which were only (15 hours prior) he refunded us half of the meal and said he never over charged us everything when he intact did. After arguing and getting no where we let it slide as we had 2 people making us feel like liars. All of a sudden a few hours later when we went to order dinner we had no money left in the account.. we had taken note of every single thing we had purchased and worked out we should have had about 11 dollars left. Again after questioning we got no where so we made the decision to check our early and lose out on money because we simply did not trust the staff to put more money on our card. Other guests in the hostel felt they had money that went unaccounted for however as far as we were aware nobody got anywhere when questioned it. This could do with so much improvement and I’m sure it could be great. We have stayed in hostels in Cambodia for a fraction of the price of what this cost and the standard was way higher.

We are a family of 3 including a 3 years old toddler! Spent 2 nights at Eden Beach Resort. Excellent and romantic experience with Eden Beach Resort and their wonderful staff from mainland to island and even the pre-reservation and booking went smooth and hassle free. I ordered trough Devid (The General Manager) who kept me informed and up to date throughout the whole stay and still communicate after. Everything was readymade for us with a FREE safety car indoor parking on mainland and the ferry-booking with Buva Sea pier located on Sihanoukville Port. The boat-ferry (3x250 motors) was a comfortable cozy tour even there was rain and big sea waves it wasn’t a problem at all. On arrival to Koh Rong Sanloem the boat stopped at the pier just 100 meter from the Resort but still the staff collected our bags with a tractor which we could sit on the trailer too. Check-in went super fast with chilled sofas, cold wet towels and a fresh welcome drink. My big surprise came when I saw the clean air conditioned bungalow room which I could live in for months without a doubt. There was a good double bed, bathroom, wardrobe, a table for laptop, TV with channels, Netflix, YouTube and free WiFi all over the Resort. I loved the swimmingpool because after a hot time on the beach I wanted a cleaner swimming than the light blue sea with sand and the infinity pool still had an overview to the beach and sea. At the restaurant we got top notch service from Sarath (Restaurant Manager), he offered me American Breakfast, American coffee as I didn’t like the buffet and khmer coffee. Even there was very busy with Chinese and Khmer customers the staff and Mr Sarath still took themselves time to treat us as VIP with conversations and they even played and looked after my son. Big thanks ? Checkout and the boat ferry tour back went as perfect as on arrival. Only minus was that the Bungalows didn’t have seaview and that we didn’t have more than two days at this awesome Resort ? We paid everything mentioned above at the Resort with ABA bankCard at checkout. On this Island there’s Waterfall, Plankton Swimming, Monkeys, Lazy Beach with waves, Sunset Beach, Bay Beach and a Lighthouse. We will definitely come back and stay here. ☀️?

We had been traveling extensively and activity through Cambodia and on our end of our trip we decided to spend some time relaxing at La Passion…we made a great choice with this resort. We had an amazing time and loved the attention from the staff and the beautiful surroundings. I wanted to give a special thanks to all the staff especially Seyha who really took care of us and was really instrumental during our stay. The resort is currently going through additional work to include a gym and a spa which I think would add allot more to the overall amenities. Still don’t miss out on this piece of heaven. Thank you

I requested a 4kg bag of laundry to be done. At checkout I discovered it cost $148 USD here. THEIVES!!!. Couldn't have been more than 2 hours work. I had a bigger bag of laundry done in Phnom Penh by a laundry service for $9 USD.

We did a beach clean up all day. Most of the bars & resorts along the way helped to clean their space while we were doing the whole beach. However, the most trash was left on the property of Sol Beach.. When we went there to tell them they needed to clear up their trash, one disgusting staff member told us that he would ‘kick the sh## out of us’ if we came back to check it again. Please remove this trash, as if is offensive to the island, and to the planet. I will push this further if not resolved as soon as possible.

Thank you for a great stay. This hotel is located on the main beach of the island close to a mini-mart and several restaurants and other resorts. The staff is super kind (especially a guy who just started working there 4 days before we arrived, and the one guy who welcomed us and introduced us to the facilities) The place is clean and rooms are nice. The mini bar and food at the restaurant is quite is expensive as any place on the island compared to the rest of Cambodia. They have kayaks and padel boards for you to use for free, though they aren’t in the best condition no more. The wifi is good

For me the best place on the beach in a wonderful hotel with fantastic beach bungalows and a perfect sandy beach. I was able to spend a few weeks here during CORONA, and enjoyed the time tremendously, not only because of the perfect location of the hotel at the end of the fantastic beach, but also because of the wonderful care of Channy and Mao. The hotel was in top condition, the garden and the beach were well maintained, even when I was the only guest. I felt completely comfortable and was able to enjoy the time and relax during my stay. So I can recommend this hotel and in the highest tones the time here is worth every cent. Without any doubt for my point view absolute top class!
