The most glorious getaway!

Reviewed By bronwync808

We had the pleasure of having a few nights at this incredible retreat in August 2019. Greet by the beautiful Dian, the luxurious cabin, tranquility and privacy set the scene for a 35 year belated and much needed honeymoon. The energy of Clove Tree is so nourishing, you won’t want to leave in a hurry. If you’re after a busy, noisy, tourist resort, don’t go to Clove Tree Hill. The deep peace, tranquility and privacy will drive you mad. Thank you again for such a spectacular getaway ?

Gajah Mina Beach Resort

Gajah Mina is an exclusive Bali holiday destination on the picturesque South West coast of Bali, not far from the renowned Tanah Lot temple in Tabanan. An intimate boutique hotel of ten independent vacation villas nestled among tropical gardens and scenic rice paddies.Gajah Mina overlooks its own private beach carved into the volcanic rock. The setting is spectacular, natural caves and ancient stone carvings offering romantic walks across adjacent cliff top, headlands, rice paddies, coconut groves and deserted beaches. It is the perfect place for a honeymoon or romantic getaway. Each villa discreetly nestles within its own walled garden offering view across rice paddies, palm fringed gardens and the rugged Balian beach coastline. Private terraces invite you to lounge amidst the clouds and the crown of palm.Tucked in between rice fields, the 27 meters long pool is built around the shape of a rice terrace.A stroll toward the ocean lead to a small cape covered with thick alang - alang grasses, ending on a cliff from where view extend towards both end of the island. One of Gajah mina two headlands is maintained as a protected area for the Water Monitor, a timid unaggressive lizard which can grow to 1.7m in length. You can make wonderful walks on the 30 km long deserted beach.

Eat at secret bay if staying in Balian

Reviewed By Barreldogs

I got recommended to go to this restaurant, and now I see why. It’s set overlooking “secret bay” and a short walk to views to Balian as well as a huge deserted beach. Food was delicious and cheap (I had fried noodles with seafood for $6Aud), and staff were lovely, if a little slow seeing as I was the only person there. Pity I found this place on my last day in Balian, or I’d be back to sample more of their menu for sure!

It’s always the people that makes a journey great! I loved all of the lovely staff at BaliGreen ! Their kindness and friendliness are simply hard to find in any other place! I felt so connected and valued and respected and loved! They might not have the most luxurious facilities, but they offer the most down-to-earth and authentic experiences! I feel so rejuvenated and recharged! The cultural activities were so much fun! I loved the waterfall and making coconut oil!! Yoga on the beach was also so much fun! Their garden is so peaceful and I feel so safe and at peace with myself. Love love love!

Umadhatu Resorts

Nice but could improve

Reviewed By rebeccaw07

For the price you pay the resort is good, however I still think it could improve a bit. Pros: Big room. Comfortable bed. Staff very friendly (especially in the restaurant). Pool looks good for kids. Set in a really pretty area. Right opposite Indomaret. Cons: Had to ask for clean towels and bedding to be changed. Breakfast not that great (dinner much better). Hot water ran out quickly. My 1 bed villa actually had 2 rooms (separate entrances) but not what I was expecting. Room wasn't occupied at least.

From sunrise to sunset let yourself unwind, while taking in the magnificent panoramic views of manicured rice terraces fringed by tropical forests and all with Batukaru Mountain, standing majestically on guard in the distance.

Exceptional hospitality

We didn't expect a secluded villa like this to be as special as it is. The architecture and design are just quirky and nicely done. Attention to details goes beyond the design, the hospitality is second to none. Exceptional service and very warm feeling throughout our stay. It is a secret gem, it is an Oasis.

Surya Homestay

Value amongst the trees

Reviewed By kiwibarley

Surya Homestay is a great place to stay if you are on a budget. Nestled amongst an array of tropical flora are a number of small bungalows each with their own small verandah where a full spread breakfast is delivered every morning, accompanied by a heart warming smile. The homestay is a 4 minute stroll and 5 minute paddle from the peak of the surf break, hardly a morning commute. There is a shop which the owners also run right next door which has just about everything you need, from Bintang to plasters (the reef is not very sharp so you shouldn’t need these). The family is super nice and nothing is ever too much trouble (washing, clothing repair, borrowing a volleyball etc). You can rent a scooter for very cheap, and there are many places to eat within close proximity. The outside shower is better than the inside ones, however so if you like a hot shower this may not be the place for you. Definitely give this place a look when you are in Balina, you will not be disappointed!

U can relax and feel the nature so refresh. It's nice to take time to this place for going away from the noisy of city for awhile. So refresh swimming at their pool & enjoy the sunset infront you. If u like or can do a yoga, there is yoga platform that overlooking the lush trees, they provide personal trainer for yoga if you want. I enjoy my chilling time at gazebo near their mini-waterfall and swimming pool. I tried fishing in their pond and had my dinner with the fish kind of tilapia, that I caught earlier. At the restaurant, there are billiard, games board, and books that I can play or read it. I suggest you to bring u'r guitar, some of u'r fav snacks (they have soft drink on mini-bar at every room-villa, so u just to buy some snacks) for picnic at their gazebo / at swimming pool area. I recommend you to spend your free time or vacation here. Don't just stay one night, because you will not be satisfied to feel the atmosphere in this villa, Bali Palms, Tabanan, Bali ❤️

Great location and stay

Reviewed By 343debl

Pondok Pitaya has the best location in Balian, right on the waters edge. With huge lawns and yoga shalas is ideal for groups. We celebrated a birthday there recently and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. The Indonesian style buffet, fire pit and large open spaces really made it a weekend to remember. We enjoyed the stay immensely. The hotel is older style but well maintained and priced well also.
