The moody, romantic Scottish Highlands start at Loch Lomond just north of Glasgow. Comprising a slew of mountain ranges, this sparsely populated land is best seen by train on the West Highland Line. Mountains, lochs, bright heather and rhododendrons give way to white sand beaches and rugged coves as the train nears Mallaig. For a more active take on the region, hike the West Highland Way or visit the Trossachs National Park. Ben Nevis, a popular climbing spot, looms over the town of Fort William.

Went to the bar which the staff member had all the lights turned off, so I asked if they were serving lunch, response yes, so I then asked for menus and if we could order drinks. Clearly had no idea what stock the bar had. Ordered lunch - a sandwich and burger and waited one hour. There were 3 other tables of two. No apology given and when we said about the time we were told it was a lot busier than normal. Such a shame because the views are stunning and the food was nice but service was so poor we will not be in a hurry back.

Located on the West bank in the centre of Inverness, overlooking the beautiful River Ness, this hotel makes an excellent base for touring local attractions, including Loch Ness.
Premier Inn in Inverness is a lovely hotel, staff very welcoming, rooms very clean. Breakfast was great no complaints regarding our four day stay. Let us leave our luggage as we arrived very early on the Caledonian Sleeper.

I have stayed at Fairways before but not in the extension part. It was just as nice, if not quieter than the main building & the overnight stay left me refreshed ready for the day ahead. I dont take the breakfast option as there are cafes with hot food nearby although the pictures of the breakfast box look nice.

The location for the hotel is perfect. You can walk straight into the town centre, perfect for shopping, food or a night out. There was lots of hassle with our booking and we had to compensate in the end. There was some work to be done on holiday unfortunately, but there was no WiFi. Not working. They tried fixing it, but ended up not getting back to us, so we ended up with no WiFi. The spa and pool are amazing. Don’t get me wrong, staff and hotel very nice, but for the price you pay, you can expect a bit more.

Nestled on the leafy banks of the River Ness, lies Ness Walk. An idyllic 5-star retreat hotel in Inverness, just 10 minutes from Loch Ness. Surrounded by a dramatic canopy of impressive trees, our grand building allows you to experience a secluded atmosphere in the heart of the vibrant city centre. Originally a 19th century house, our lovingly restored Grade B listed building still retains many of its periodic features. But unified with modern design and architecture, providing a flawless balance between past and present. Ness Walk is also home to the Torrish Restaurant. Presenting the perfect combination of innovation and intimacy, Torrish breathes new life to fine dining in Inverness.
We had an enjoyable experience staying at Ness Walk. The staff were very friendly and professional. We had dinner and breakfast here which was very good. Our room was spacious, very clean and well appointed. Situated in a great spot with parking, it was very convenient to walk into the city. Would recommend.

Recently taken over and substantially refurbished, one of Scotland's most historic hotels, the Morar Hotel is a friendly family-owned Edwardian mansion house on the romantic 'Road to the Isles', 3 miles from Mallaig, the Southern Gateway to the Isle of Skye. Commanding breathtaking views of the famous Silver Sands of Morar and the Inner Hebridean islands of Rum & Eigg, its panoramic views and comfortable accommodation have made it the perfect coastal escape for many years. Built in 1902, originally as the Station hotel, it is only metres from the train station. Now a modern character hotel with wifi and satellite TV and open to the public, it is only 50 minutes from Fort William by the new road, or an hour by scheduled train services or in the summer by the special Jacobite Steam Train, as featured in the Harry Potter films. The overnight service from London (Euston) leads to Morar Station opposite the hotel and car hire is available in Fort William or Morar.
What a dreadful hotel saved only by its location and beautiful views. The hotel itself is a kip ran by indifferent staff. Corridors littered with dirty linen and rubbish bags, a bar with no draft beer although you can buy a bottle for £6.50. If you find yourself stuck here, suggest you go to the Coop in Mallaig and buy some wine and beer. Real shame as the location has such potential.

Had a one night stayover for business purposes and I found the hotel more than fit for purpose with lovely rooms. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the facilities were good with a nice pool and sauna which is always a bonus. Would highly recommend this for good old fashioned Highland hospitality

Premier Inn Inverness East is perfectly located for work and play, just 8 miles from the airport and 1.5 miles from the vibrant city centre. From the ancient castle and historic buildings of the Old Town to the latest bands at Rockness and Belladrum festivals Inverness has entertainment for all ages. Come back to a delicious meal at our Brewers Fayre restaurant before relaxing in one of our new generation bedrooms and slumber- inducing, king-size Hypnos bed.
It’s clear PI can be a mixed bag. This hotel was by far the oldest of our trip and although refurbished, corridors are narrower, the air con is rubbish and the staff were less helpful than in smaller settings. That being said the window opened and there is easy access to other amenity. I think we would use another of the city’s PIs if back again.
