Room at this hotel was small but there is a nice patio outside the room with table and deck chairs which opens up to a lovely open green space behind the hotel, there are bath robes, extra towels for the spa, kettle but not cups or coffee/tea, bathroom was nice with a heated towel rack but only a 2-in-1 body/hair shampoo was provided. The heating in the room cannot be controlled. Telephone in room did not work either. We were glad that we stayed only 1 night here. Breakfast was included which was ok. Had dinner at the restaurant, the food was nice but expensive. Staff was not very friendly on the whole. No help was extended by a particular staff who just stood there and watched us struggled to carry our bags up the flight of stairs. No one asked if we had a good stay at checkout. We were glad that we stayed only one night.

Reviewed By PhilippaTHotel Dorer is a proper old-fashioned little hotel, which the same family has been proud to own for generations. We stayed three nights, taking an “apartment” on the top floor which was furnished quite simply but gave us beds, sitting room space, a small balcony, and a super clean bathroom with a powerful shower. The proprietor Manuela helped us make the most of our time, lending us a hiking map for some fantastic local trails, and showing us through her photo album of the hotel’s history over the last century. We enjoyed two dinners in the truly excellent and quite formal restaurant, where husband Salvatore is the chef. It feels more relaxed in the mornings when the breakfast is pretty sumptuous. We also took advantage of the little spa - swimming pool, sauna, solarium spaces - which is for guests only. I think this place would be really magical in winter, with a little ski-lift just down the road.

Reviewed By 406shelleybAffordable. Spacious room. We stayed on top floor with angled roof line in bathroom. My spouse could stand at sink only. Tub with sprayer again angled ceiling. (See pic) Free parking. Free WiFi. European breakfast included. We had 4 people and room had a step up to another bedroom. No a/c. No window screens. Great for our one night. (July). We did Triberg right before this motel. Close drive to restaurants in this town. Be warned stairs outside- building on a slope. Stairs inside.

Asking top euro's, for lacking service
Reviewed By Gé TAVOID Charging top dollars, BUT bad service, everything closes way early, like NO sauna or pool after 7 pm, NO dinner/food order after 5 pm, NO bar after 8 pm etc. Bad WIFI Terrible breakfast with 3 day old hard bread etc etc Trying to run a hotel with not enough staff (Falty Towers like) Looks like the owner only wants to charge top Euro's, with minimum service to the customer :( The toilet in my room (19) was sqeezed between the bathtub and shower glass, really impossible to sit on :( WIFI is really bd throughout the hotel, except near the office. A few simple repeaters to improve guests experience was probably too much investment to ask for. NO credit card accepted (cash of EU bank card only) so we had to hustle to get the bill paid. :( Never again, (NO auf wieder sehen here) AVOID !!!

1st Visit to Black Forrest
Reviewed By 879martinpWe stayed here for a few days. The mother made us feel at home instantly. The rooms are clean and the beds are very comfortable. Meals are prepared by the father and son and are absolutely delicious. Unfortunatly the language barier was n little problem but with such a charming and radiant host who cares? Will make use of this facility again if the occasion present itself.

Based on photos, we expected a location in the middle of the nature, however the hotel is rather close to a busy and rather noisy road. Probably due to Covid, there were not enough tables for dinner. Quite expensive (might be a post-Covid price).

Reviewed By SchteefWe stayed in room 10 for two nights. The room was located on the top floor at the end of the building. The room was clean, the beds comfortable and we had a balcony. Unfortunately the weather was not good so the balcony did not get used a great deal whilst we were in the room. The toilet/shower room did not have a sink which was not great. The shower was not that powerful but the water was hot. The staff were friendly. Whilst free Wi-Fi was offered, it was not that quick and we struggled to make video calls. There are a few parking places out the front of the guest house.

Reviewed By Tom CThe Hotel is slightly dated but clean. The bedroom we were in was on the first floor and due to being in the roof was very hot. Bathroom was clean but again dated and old fashioned. Hostess whilst not hugely welcoming was not rude. Breakfast which was included was good but we felt there could of been more variety from what was provided. The best thing about the hotel is its location. Set back off the main road means it is quiet but still within walking distance of the village and all the restaurants and shops the village has.

Lovely hotel, friendly staff
Reviewed By Aaron LThis hotel is very clean. The rooms are large and beds comfortable. There is limited off road parking, but the on road parking is right outside the hotel down a relatively quiet street. The owners are lovely, very welcoming and obliging. The hotel is walking distance to a great pizzeria. Triberg is a short drive with plenty of shops, cafes and bars.

Reviewed By 144jannehNice place just next to the autobahn and ideal for a stay on the Way to Austria. Good rooms, clean, Nice restaurant and good breakfeast. You could probably find a cheaper place but this was great and for two single rooms with dinner, beers and breakfast it was 158€
