100 km from Santiago de Compostela, Sarria, the first and closest place for following the PILGRIM ROAD TO SANTIAGO and the Pilgrim's Way stretching along the FRENCH PILGRIM ROAD. A three star hotel, located in a new building. Installations are modern and functional. Set in a welcoming, pleasant atmosphere, the rooms have all that is required for our guests to feel comfortable and enjoy a well-earned rest. The hotel lies in the centre of the town of Sarria in a privileged spot on the Pilgrim Road to Santiago itself (the French Pilgrim Road), thus making it the best choice for your business or tourist trips in the area.
we had confirmed reservation cancelled, and were sent to another hotel of a lower standard. Luggage was not forwarded and response, solution offered was that they would call a taxi for us. Not hood enough.

Albergue San Lazaro has 35 places, divided into shared and private rooms. The facilities are spread over a ground floor, around an outdoor terrace with areas of sun and shade and a rustic room carved into the rock. It is a century-old house, which retains its magic and structure. Wood and stone are the main protagonists in an environment prepared for the rest of the pilgrims.
I spent a couple of nights here and opted to have my own room which was was clean, nicely decorated and considering it was a hostel, it felt quite luxurioius and was excellent value for money. Maria was incredibly helpful to me as I wanted to leave my motorcycle there for the week whilst I completed the Camino walk to Santiago. I was allowed to leave it in her garage completely safe and free of charge! Would recommend Aubergue San Lazaro 100%

Volveremos! Gracias Mónica.

We have 32 places in bunks. - Rooms with private bathroom - Rooms with shared bathroom - Free Wi-Fi - Pet Friendly / Admitted pets :) - Laundry service - Packed Lunches - Zona Tv / Shared Living - Daily maid service - Diet Menus (on request) - Restaurant (à la carte) - Pub - Airport shuttle
I had a private room with shared bathroom. I was lucky enough that the entire floor was empty, so the two bathrooms were eventually not shared with anyone, but even if that had not been the case the place is great and my room had a small electric heater (something I did not see anywhere else on the camino).

Stayed one night while walking the Camino. Staff was friendly and helpful but room could have been cleaner - not terrible, but hair on the floors and in the bathroom and a bit grungy, like it needed a good scrub. Breakfast was sufficient and I appreciated that staff was there to provide people the food so that people weren’t touching a lot of it themselves during Covid.

It is a place on the Camino de Santiago where you can rest, relax and regain strength for the rest of the way.
We stayed one night while walking the Camino. The location set back off of the Main Street is very quiet, the staff were great, our room was very modern, spotlessly clean, had very comfortable beds and air conditioning. The bathroom was lovely and had a great shower. A big group came in late in the evening and we didn’t hear a sound from them so the rooms appear to be well isolated from each other. All the rooms are on the ground floor but the windows are very secure and we didn’t feel at all concerned. The hotel is located just before the bridge and the steps leading to the upper part of the town which is the official Camino route, so we did have a good climb to start our walk the next day (it is possible to walk around the hill if you don’t feel compelled to walk every step of the Camino). Even though we had a few more steps the next day, we would choose this hotel again as the area is much quieter than the upper part of town near the cathedral where there are dozens of Hostels, albergues and restaurants. We didn’t stay for breakfast so we can’t comment on their food.

It is quite big, we went a group of 8 people and we were in the same room at the first floor. They have kitchen and a few showers. We booked the hostel in advance and it is in the main road to start next day.

The CAMPING VILA DE SARRIA is a resting place in a superb natural setting with modern facilities in the quietest area of Sarria just one kilometer from the city center and with magnificent views of the town. With 13,000 inhabitants, located at km 112 of the road Xacobeo, Sarria is a strategic location in the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela,
This was an unexpected surprise in our trip. Stopped late as we didn't make it to the next town and woke up to a wonderful, quiet, green morning. The space is very pleasant, lots of shade, clean and great food… The natural, relaxing break we needed, with a nice nearby town to explore. I just wish we could have stayed longer!

We stayed here before starting our Camino de Santiago. We hadn’t booked but the owner was so welcoming and found us a couple of beds. We luckily didn’t have to wait for the showers as we arrived fairly late but I can imagine there would be a wait at common times. A small kitchen area with a coffee machine and vending machine. Comfy beds, nice sized room we were in, overall very happy.
