Reviewed By Pau-R--R77Nothing sofisticated given the price, but it had everything needed to have a good night. The AC was working well, the hotel looked new and was very clean and quiet. Breakfast was ok with a fait choice of options. Only the wifi was not always working depending on the position in the room. No hot shower (not an issue given the climate). Although it is in the riverfront it is not exactly in the centre (about 15/20 min walk).

Reviewed By rey2004The room given was so small we couldnt open our lugagge. Dirty and stained towels and bed cloths. We did complaim , but nothing was done !!!! We had to go perosnally to the reception to geti new towels.................

The better city hotel! New with good localition, better reception, security 24th, local breakfast, bedroom high quality, local internet with wi-fi fast. Come and enjoy wonderfull places like Alter do Chao the increble beats in the heart of Amazon at Acay Hotel.
No view , but nice and clean
Reviewed By Amelia_NaritaHotel Açay, it's new , opened last year. Room's furnitures new, nice bed matress and clean. All staff its well trained, specially Mr.Beto, who attendant us. The location depends on what you are looking for; its just a litlle away from the city center but close to shopping , airport and way to Alter do Chao. Not have much bus, but there is a bus stop in front of hotel ...Anyway its much better rent a car or combine price to tax's driver to getting around.

The room was beautifully clean and bed was comfortable with nice clean bed sheets. She gave me tips of places to see and things to do and even offered to give a personal moto taxi tour of the city! The hostel really feels like a home with a home-like ambience. Make sure you try her wonderful Guarana too! Super delicous! Thanks a lot Claudia!

The hotel also has a self service restaurant.
Not bad, except for the odd details
Reviewed By SleeplessinSDThe clean, modern lobby of the Hotel Palace looked promising when we checked in. Our $45 room, enormous, also was immaculate, if austere. No ornamentation of any kind relieved the stark white walls. Frosted glass separated the bedroom from the bathroom. Inside the bathroom, however, things got weird. Our shower had no less than 4 grip bars and a fold-down seat, understandably because any soap and water on it slick floor tile made it a lethal place. It also had two plastic attachments the function of which neither of us could puzzle out, even after some study. Turning the valve mounted about waist-height made water flow out of the lofty showerhead. But turning the higher valve handle neither activated the attachments nor had any apparent effect on the water temperature (which to our disappointment was mainly tepid, with occasional pulses of warmth). To sit on the shelf (and avoid death by slipping) put one in the unavoidable path of that too-cool water. The wash basin, too, was a space-age wonder, controlled only by a light sensor in the shaft. Motion made it start running, but only in the presence of light. Anyone who wanted to rinse his or her hands in the wee hours without waking his or her bed partner had no choice but the demonic shower. Worse, unlike the automated faucets ubiquitous in North America (which shut off quickly to conserve water), this one flowed on and on after each ignition. It drove us (who come from dry, drought-prone Southern California) nuts.

Reviewed By João CThis hotel is absurdly outdated. There has been no effort to invest for decades, and the management is totally negligent. There are so many small details that could be improved without money, and even the staff tell you that management is incompetent. Internet falls all the time and in my three days there it was more often down than up. The TV took two days to be fixed. I asked the restaurant for something quick and they informed me that they would not be able to produce anything in under 45 minutes. The front desk staff is friendly but forgetful and quick to say that they have no solution. And if you stay here don't forget to bring your own shampoo, they don't give you any. On the positive side, there is a large and attractive pool. But if you are going to stay in Santarém you should check out the alternatives. I don't know if there are better hotels there, but this is the worst hotel I have stayed in out of dozens that I have visited in Brazil on the past few years.

I can't wait to go back.(I've already had 3 extended stays here.)The location is ideal for so many of the ongoing events. It is also close to the town square and several convenience stores. There is always a lot going on. Just ask at the front desk.
