This was not my first choice hotel for Monteverdi, but I am very glad I stayed here! There are multiple buildings, I think all were 2 stories. The property is beautifully groomed with fountains and flowers. It is off the main drag, so there was less traffic noise. I am a hiker, and I discovered that this made a perfect starting point for many Monteverdi hikes. Local day and night tours are available. The hotel has a very good restaurant, the food was excellent, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Every morning, there was a raucous flock of keel billed toucans that made sure everybody was awake! This is a hidden gem that I was glad to discover.

Comfortable, cozy, and family managed, the hotel was once the owner’s family home and is inspired by a rustic ‘Tica House’ design. Guests are encouraged to treat the lodge as their home. Our friendly and knowledgeable staff are happy to cater to the individual needs of guests. From booking tours, transportation, and local restaurants, to providing delicious homecooked breakfasts, we go the extra mile to make your stay relaxing and enjoyable.
we had a last minute emergency and the property honored our reimbursement. Other properties were not as understanding. In this day and age with everything going on in the world, more places should operate with the excellent customer service and human understanding that Camino Verde does. We did not get to take advantage of this beautiful property but we plan to certainly return one day and we will absolutely make up for this loss. THANK YOU AGAIN! <3

Our hotel located in Monteverde Costa Rica is an ecolodge. The Cloud Forest Lodge offers the perfect combination between isolating yourself in nature and staying close to all Monteverde´s facilities. We are located within the Bellbird Biological Corridor, two kilometers from the main town – literally in the middle between the Monteverde Reserve and the Santa Elena Reserve. We preserve our biodiversity with dedication since we believe that people deserve to enjoy the nature that surrounds us. We are invested in maintaining the essence of Monteverde over time. COVID NOTE. Due to the current situation, we had to vary the operation of the restaurant according to the occupation. In the same way, we continue our effort to meet the needs of each visitor and context. We appreciate that you let us know any preferences in advance so that we can serve you in the best way possible.
I thought this place was wonderful, and to me, it really comes from the wonderful staff. Extremely helpful and nice. When I arrived, I did my check-in, and Vanesa at the front desk gave me a map of the place and explained what was where and the times food was available, etc. My breakfast was included (choice of 3, you don't have to eat the same one each morning, you can change your choice, but I'd recommend to at least try the Tradicional). I've been wanting to go bungee jumping for years and I knew it was an activity that was offered in Monteverde, so I asked Vanesa if she knew of a good place, and she instantly recommended Extremo. She called them up for me, and within the next hour and a half, I was on the way to my 1st adventure in Monteverde! And it was one of the best adventures ever! While I was there I also did the Tarzan Swing. At the hotel, they offer a night walk that needs to be reserved about a couple of hours before the start, and since I wasn't sure how long the bungee jumping was going to take, I didn't make a reservation, but I got back a few minutes before and they allowed me to go. I highly recommend it. The guide is extremely knowledgeable and it was great learning from him. After the walk, I decided to have dinner at the hotel. I had a simple veggie soup and grilled fish with palmito (hearts of palm). Yumm! The next day, I went to the Natural Reserve and then in the afternoon I went ziplining at Sky Adventures and also did the Sky Walk there. Got back to the hotel late again so decided to have dinner there once more. I had the veggie soup again (simple but delicious) and chicken with a salsa criolla. It wasn't what I was expecting, it was very tomatoey, which I typically don't like, but this was actually good. Anyway! I recommend this place. I know they also offer ziplining and there are some trails to explore, but I didn't get to stay long enough to explore it all. I didn't see any luxurious hotels in the area, so if that's what you're looking for, maybe Monteverde isn't for you, but if you want to enjoy nature and be relaxed, and deal with wonderful people, then you'll love it here :)

As its name stands for, Poco a Poco is a hotel that has grown little by little, from five rooms in 2000; our restaurant and 6 more rooms in 02, 18 more rooms at the end of 2005, our heated pool and the last 3 rooms on 2006 and finally for march 2009, our new front desk building, with a new standard in architecture and construction materials: modern, versatile and clean. The hotel's analogy and emblem: The Turtle, relates to its mythological attributes of wisdom, spirituality and perseverance; values that are part of our business philosophy.
I had a really nice stay here. I had some stomach issues while I was there, and the staff helped me with tea and room service. The property is nice, with a heated pool and large hot tub. Restaurant wasn't mind blowing, but was food was good. I had two complaints while I was there: (1) they didnt provide a 'do not disturb' sign, so I specifically asked them not to come clean my room, but yet they came in and moved my things, redid the bed, redid all the towels, etc. Not the end of the world, but that was what i specifically asked to NOT do... (2) I asked for a deep tissue massage, but their therapist really struggled to execute a true deep tissue (not to mention club music bass was bumping from the hotel pool), so the massage experience left me dissatisfied. They knocked off $10 from the $80 price, which was a nice gesture, but $70 is still more than I pay for an hour massage at the local Chinese spa in San Francisco where I live. Shrug Criticisms acknowledged, this hotel was a nice one all-in-all. I would stay again.

Super cute hotel with the friendliest owners ever! The room is really big, very clean and cozy. We just stayed there for one night during our roadtrip through Costa Rica but still we felt more than welcome. The national parks are really close.

Staying at Pensions was an absolute treat, the chilled out atmosphere, super friendly staff (Shout out to Nina and MJ ?), very comfy rooms and the best location in town. Staying here was a cherry ? on top of the cake that is MonteVerde. I also had the good fortune to get to know Ran and his wife while staying there, they're a one in a million family.

and we enjoyed our time here. Wonderful breakfast with extra toast and coffee. Easy to book rides to activities such as cloud forest. Small parking lot and steep uphill walk from downtown are the only drawbacks. Owner and crew are wonderful.

The lodge is as described and pictured. We chose the apartment as we wanted a kitchen. It had everything necessary to make food, even oil and salt and pepper. The grounds are also nice. We saw several species of birds. We also enjoyed the breakfast which was included. The staff were helpful.

Very nice owners, good wifi, cute common areas, and tidy room. You get what you pay for in terms of the room, but was totally fine for one night. Was worried with no AC but the room is mild since the temperature outside isn't high. However, no hot water in the showers so be prepared.
