The Pension Arenal is located in the center of San Vicente de la Barquera, we have doubles from 27.00 euros in low season and 45.00 in high season. All rooms have bathroom with shower and toilet, hair dryer and free WIFI. We have a place to store bikes that use this medium to do the Camino de Santiago.
Good Budget Accommodation on the Pilgrims Trail
Reviewed By StephibanksThe location in San Vicente is perfect as it is just a few minutes from the bus station. It is also in the heart of the town so easy to get out and about to explore. The room was a very basic room with just enough room to organise ourselves though we did have to move the furniture around a bit to accommodate our suitcases though I appreciate that this accommodation is really suited to pilgrims who travel lightly. It is good basic accommodation and ideal for just a night or two - we stayed for 3 nights and could have done with a bit more space an comfort but it was fine for the money. You need to know that you need to go to the cafe to pick up the key - this is one the front row of shops and cafe's and is called Cafeteria Carma. Carma will show you to your room but she doens't speak English but you can communicate by smiling! The water in the shower was always nice and hot and the room was cleaned and beds made every day. Cafe Carma is a great place to go for breakfast or have drinks in the evening and they do a fantastic range of cakes and pastries which I highly recommend. In all a good stay.

“Faro de San Vicente” hotel has amazing views of the estuary of San Vicente, one of the most important estuaries of the north of Spain. From our location, guests can enjoy the marsh landscape. This accommodation is near the port, and 300 meters away from the town center. Crossing the bridge, you can easily arrive to the town historic area. This 3 star hotel has 46 doubled rooms and 4 single ones, all of them are equipped with bathroom, hairdryer, TV, telephone, wake-up call and central heating. The hotel provides free Wi-fi and 24 hour reception service. We offer our guests a breakfast buffet style. There is also cafeteria service at guest disposal, with a spacious terrace from where you can enjoy the beautiful landscape views. There is a public parking nearby.
Lovely Hotel, Fantastic View
Reviewed By Bob EWe stayed for one night whilst walking the Camino Norte. We had a lovely light and bright room, with plenty of space with a great view over the river to the town and the Picos mountains in the distance. The hotel gives a very friendly vibe and breakfast was exceptional with so much choice. We also had the good fortune to watch a Youth Cycle Race with excellent views from our room.

Pleasant stay, stunning views
Reviewed By Emi_beteWe were there for 2 nights. The rooms were ok, good beds and pillows. We had a room facing the garden, still it was full of light, which we enjoyed. The views from the cafeteria and external garden are indeed stunning. Downsides: the room is rather small, no fridge, only spanish channels on TV, on the second morning the cleaning staff was very loud and woke us up slamming doors and chatting loud. Overall, good stay.

Beutiful place for rest some days. Very near to spectacular beaches where you can surf. Also the 18 holes Santa Marina Golf Club next to the hotel. A very comfortable rooms with complete bathroom and TV. You can go with your pets. The children can stay very well in the quiet place.
Wonderful welcome and stay
Reviewed By robe912We stayed here for a night while travelling from our home in Andalucia to Santander. Despite arriving late we had a lovely welcome and a delicious and great value dinner, and enjoyed a comfortable and stylish room. We will be coming back for a longer stay!

Great old style hotel in perfect location
Reviewed By marcopolo1964I'm certainly biased because I came across Hotel Luzon after almost an hour of driving along the coast out of season in the darkness and finding one hotel after another shut for the winter. So I was greatly relieved when I found an open hotel with a room and at a supremely reasonable price. But even without those circumstances, I'd have liked this place. It's right on the seafront next to the Plaza Major and with plenty of eating options. It has a lovely old-world charm with a pretty staircase and wooden furniture (they also have an elevator). Sure, it's a bit creaky here and there, but that's part of the charm. My bed was super comfortable and the bathroom was clean and functional. Breakfast is taken in a charming room, though don't expect much. It was just orange juice, coffee, and rolls. This is Spain after all. Beware that the hotel is in the center of the (rather interesting) town - the sandy swimming beaches are about a kilometer away.

Reviewed By Nils DA good place just out of town, beautiful view from the terras of the room. Comfortabel stay for a very small price. As with the Spanish culture a very small breakfast, being a coffee and 1 pastry for an additional 2,40€. Therefore no 5/5.

A really great place to stay. Ideal for the Picos

Clean and tidy. Free teas and coffees in reception as well as a refrigerator with Euro1 drinks. excellent parking San Vicente has some fine restaurants and bars as well as stunning views.

Reviewed By JennieWSussexThis hotel was easy to find, the person to greet us was friendly, the room clean but not huge, the breakfast simple but adequate and the view from the balcony as we ate it was wonderful. The town is lovely but there is a 20 minute walk to get to it and uphill on the way back - no problem for most people. Car parking was good and the wifi worked. All in all a very good place to stay for the amount it costs.
