Saint Paul has been called the last city of the East primarily because early developers built it to fit Eastern standards: city squares or parks, towers and turrets, lofty arches, Baroque domes and elaborate adornments abound. Ideal for families and those who like to explore on foot, the capital of Minnesota offers big city attractions with small town manageability. It's an easy and scenic stroll along the banks of the Mississippi River from the Children's Museum to the Science Museum. The kids (and the young at heart) will love them both. Nearby are the grandiose State Capitol, designed by esteemed architect Cass Gilbert and the historic Como Park, which includes lovely picnic areas, a zoo and a conservatory. Also in the mix are modern museums, stately old mansions, interesting natural wonders and unique shops to browse around. Be sure to check out the stellar collection of contemporary works by local artists at the Minnesota Museum of American Art. From four-star luxury to affordable and family-friendly, Saint Paul offers a variety of lodging and dining possibilities making it a great destination for all tastes and budgets.

We have stayed at this location twice now. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable. It's clean and I really enjoy the common spaces. But the breakfast was lacking and inconsistent. One day the coffee and eggs were good. They could really use a potato option and more variety of pastries. But the next day the coffee was watered down, no half n half, and the eggs literally looked like sawdust. If this hotel gets it's breakfast together, it is a great place fto stay.

Bringing new life to an historic former Catholic convent and arts conservatory in the heart of Minnesota’s capital city, the Celeste of St. Paul Hotel + Bar provides an elevated, uniquely intimate guest experience steeped in the heritage of the nuns who once lived and taught there. The hotel had small rooms, but they were sufficient for sleeping. There just wasn't any extra space besides the bed and small desk. They had a delicious breakfast and great artwork throughout the building.

One of Saint Paul's newest hotels, Hyatt Place St. Paul/Downtown offers 149 spacious guestrooms in the heart of the best Lowertown, Saint Paul has to offer, including numerous restaurants, bars, entertainment options, and parks. The hotel has been transformed from the recently-restored Custom House, built 1933 and now listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It sits on a downhill sloping block diagonal from the federal courthouse, located along the Mississippi River.
I had a reservation for another hotel, but because I didn't have the required ID they denied me my room. I called Hyatt Place in St. Paul and with proper identification they had me a room within minutes. I was a bit frazzled, but the staff was understanding and made me feel comfortable and welcomed.

The Drury in St. Paul had an attractive and modern lobby, easy (but not free) parking, and a good location near state capitol and hospitals. The bed in my room was a big, comfy king size. Large windows allowed plenty of light in the room and offered a nice view from the 7th floor. The suite was spacious and clean. The wifi worked fine. The evening free drinks and food was pleasant, and the food included hot items as well as chips etc. Pulled pork, baked potatoes, etc. I would recommend this hotel.

I hope this helps someone: Stay somewhere else. Very friendly people but the hotel is dirty. The stairwell smells like urine. The room is unclean: chocolate chips along floor by bed, stains all over carpet, hair on bathroom tile floor and in the tub, and the toilet seat is broken/cracked through. I moved rooms e side I thought it was a fluke. Maybe the next room wouldn’t be so dirty?… Wishful thinking. The second room was worse than the first. Just don’t stay here.

My son and I stayed here for one night last week. I was looking for a hotel within walking distance of the Childrens Museum and came across this. The price was very good and the location seemed pretty good. I just happened to glance at the reviews on here two days before and had them started questioning my decision to book here. As an honors member I figured I’d take my chances. To be honest our stay was really good. Parking was very easy, as the lot is directly under the hotel with elevator access in the lobby. There is a pretty decent restaurant right on the main floor (I reviewed that on Yelp), along with a heated pool on floor 3. With my son, I was mainly looking for those items along with cleanliness. The hotel itself was very clean. Yes our room could have used some updating, however the beds were good, the room was clean, and the shower was hot right off the bat. We did use the pool and it was adequately stocked with pool towels and we were the only people in it. The front desk staff were efficient and gave us the warm cookies and water when we checked in. He even double checked my room preference because it was different than the reservation. I would stay here again.

New hotel with lots of attention to detail. Our room was spotless and I really liked the parking deck access and that it was heated. The breakfast space is incredible too. The General Manager was very engaged with staff and guests. Short walk to the center of St. Paul

Clean and updated hotel. Room was large and spacious. Stayed on a Monday, so no restrurants open for dinner or breakfast within walking. Park on the first level if possible and avoid enclosed stairway in parking garage. Would recommend a stay for a trip to St Paul.
