The 10 best hotels in Saint Louis, United States

July 14, 2022 Concepcion Newsome

The history of St. Louis has been heavily influenced by Westward expansion and blues music. The big "must-see" in this region is the Gateway Arch, while other important sites include the Museum of Westward Expansion, the St. Louis Cathedral and the Anheuser-Busch factory tour. The city offers plenty for the whole family. Children will enjoy the local zoo and the Magic House, while family members will also want to unwind at Forest Park, home to the World's Fair almost a century ago.

We stopped in St Louis on a cross country trip. This is the nicest hotel we have stayed in so far. Super clean, big rooms, comfortable mattresses and a great breakfast provided. Check in and check out was easy with the reception being very pleasant. Plenty of parking and about 15 minutes from downtown St. Louis.

Breakfast was terrible!

Reviewed By Scott O

If you're coming here because you think you'd enjoy the free breakfast you're making a mistake. It was the worst hotel breakfast I've ever had. I'm a war vet so I'm not the pickiest person but this was just terrible. For this reason alone, I can't see myself staying at a Drury again.

Excellent service!

August greeted us upon arrival and she was one of the best most customer service focused employee I’ve encountered! A+++ august! We went up to our room, and it was clean clean clean! The top deck was amazing, the perfect oasis away from home to enjoy a few drinks and dip your feet in the water or sunbathe. The valet was accommodating and fast. The food downstairs was delectable! Overall we can’t say enough great things, we have found our place to stay in STL for many future stays!

Great 'free' breakfast and early evening eats/drinks.

Reviewed By PeterHillsLewes

Stayed here two nights as part of a tour from UK. Old building but rooms fairly modern and of a decent size. Comfortable bed and walk in shower. Also coffee maker. Wi-fi was poor though and connection not consistent. Location adjacent to Union Station but a lot of construction and roadworks in area, although I didn't experience any noise from this. Winner for me was the 'free' breakfast (choice of hot and cold dishes with cereals and pastries) and also the 'Kick -Back' in early evening which offered a choice of hot dishes sufficient to not have to seek out restaurants. Three drinks per evening also included - beer and wine as part of this. Although billed as'free' the price per night obviously makes an allowance for this. But convenient to have this included in price without having to search for places to eat. Nothing in life is 'free'!!

This is the first time that we tried Drury Hotel and turned out to be a successful and happy experience. We stayed at the hotel for three nights. Excellent overall. The appearance, the room comfortableness, the shower, the food including breakfast and dinner (it was a big surprise when people told me that dinner is included). Moving forward, I think I'll be looking for brand "Drury".

The hotel has been completely refurbished. It feels new and clean. Check in was quick and my room request was honored. Good breakfast with sausage, eggs, biscuits, gravy, etc. Excellent quiet location. Just off the I-55 in south St. Louis and easy access to Cracker Barrel across the street. Will definitely stay there in the future with such easy access to all of STL.

Great place to stay with awesome perks!

Reviewed By Msgeminicc

Although the outside of the building isn't extravagant, the inside is nice. Great security measures! I made the reservation, but my husband went inside to check-in. Although, he had our confirmation page, he had to video me while he was at the front desk. The employee asked to see my identification and grant my husband permission to check in. The hotel has nice amenities (i.e., pool and fitness area). They also had nice breakfast and dinner options. Bonus...they offer free drinks at night! We will definitely return on your next trip to St. Louis!

Good location but poor management

Reviewed By Jeanlj

Quoted rate in the morning when we called had increased 20% by the time we arrived. We had spoken to the front desk early that morning who assured us rooms would be available. We didn’t reserve ahead because of the long distance and we weren’t sure of arriving that day. No manager available to speak to when we arrived or the next day even though we were told she’d be available at 8am the next day when we checked out. We left a couple of messages over the next 2 days for Cynthia but she didn’t return our call. When we reached her 3 days later she was abrupt, unfriendly and unhelpful, and said she had never gotten our messages. We had trouble with our room during our stay too. The lock didn’t work on the door and the television system was incomprehensible. Front desk staff— two young men were helpful. Breakfast lady was great. But I wouldn’t recommend this hotel due to poor customer service and attitude of management.

If you are coming for baseball at Bush Stadium, this is your hotel! Literally across the street from 3rd base! Friendly check in - ask for a room overlooking the stadium. The rooms are huge, with very nice sheets and towels and the bathroom is large as well. Walk to the Gateway Arch National Park. Parking was a little pricy and that’s parking yourself across the street in their lot, but it was in and out. You have to request housekeeping but we just asked for fresh towels.
