Maybe you’ve heard that Treasure Beach, Jamaica is a magical place. We like to think we had a hand in making some of the magic. It’s certainly had a hand in making us. Please come and visit Jakes to see for yourself. Rooms. Beautiful rooms. Rooms with Ocean Views. South Coast, Jamaica, Deluxe Ocean Views. Garden views. Funky nomad-style design. Bohemian-inspired interiors. We put the bang in Bungalows. History lives in our Cottages. We have Roots. Alex Haley’s Roots. And charm. Have we mentioned that our Rooms and Bungalows and Cottages and Villas are all terribly, terribly enchanting? And wildly comfortable, too. You won’t want to leave.
We stayed in one of the “Octopussy” units. (aka beachside bungalow.. or honey-moon suite). In short: Everything was great! Here are some specifics. Room: Very private, great view, everything functioned as it should. Note: If you are over 6’ tall, beware the doorways! I asked the front desk for some tape or something So I could tape a “flag” over the doorways to help remind me.. The AC is plenty to keep you cool at night blowing right on the bed. I never really tried to see if it would get the whole room cool in the mid-day heat, but I didn’t want too. PLENTY of ocean breeze, and the room opens to let it all in. The grounds were really well kept and very nice. The staff was courteous. I had a massage from someone that I think may be the best massage I’ve ever had.. sorry I can’t remember her name. Service was a little slow at the restaurant, bar, and next door at Jack Sprat’s.. but set your mode to “island time” and you’ll be good. We ate at least a dozen meals between the two places, and the only negative comment I’d have is that, at breakfast, even if there is a crowd (which in this case means only 8 or 9 tables) don’t take 15+ minutes to bring the coffee.. someone can wait much more patiently with a drink ? I’m adding some photos and have to say this: Some places put up few photos and cherry-pick the best, leaving out less sightly parts of the facility. This was not the case. IMHO: better in person.

Simple well kept, room only accommodation. I step out of my room straight on to the beach to see an amazing sunset. Only down side was lukewarm water but not a major problem. The staff were amazing. helpful and protective. This is a must for backpacks, especially women travelling alone or those that arent looking an all inclusive holiday. I am definitely going again.

I had a trip planned in November but had to cancel due to the virus. The people in this hostel were so lovely, considering this was their livelihood when I cancelled my holiday. They were polite, friendly and more concerned for my safety in the UK. They were more Courteous than airlines in the west which were richer and had more government support. I will be booking this trip again when this virus disappears and I know I will enjoy my stay with Welcoming Vibes when I eventually do.

Arrived at the property with great expectations which were quickly dashed as the place was very poorly lighted. We were met by a man whom we are assuming is the caretaker/ security. He was quite pleasant and showed us the rooms. The first one on the lower floor smelled awful. We then went upstairs and was just as disappointed a whilst the room wasn't smelly it was so basic. It looked more like a brothel Payment of collected by the caretaker at the door, no receipts were given. . The sheets on the bed were not clean the bathroom had a whole ot of drain flies and teenager roaches. There was no sanitisation products in there. We had linen which luckily was in our uggage so we used what we had. We went out and bought Lysol and an insect spray as it was too late to go searching for someplace else as we are not used to the area. The bathroom had no cold water in the shower as the tap did not work, and the warm water was pretty warm. It made showering a very uncomfortable experience. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. I was so happy to leave when morning came. This place is a far cry from a "hotel"

Wilton House is a privately owned home and guest house. It majestically overlooks the Caribbean Sea in Bluefields, Westmoreland, Jamaica. The property boasts colorful gardens with breathtaking views of the famous Jamaican sunset. Our beautiful climate makes it possible to spend vacationing days in our warm waters and soaking up the rays of the sun.
I booked into the cosy cabin for an 8 night stay. The cabin was good size and had a large fridge, microwave ,stove and a fan. I arrived 11:30 at night. There was no welcome basket in the room or even a bottle of water in the fridge. There was also no information in the room regarding the Wi-Fi password. I had to go and ask for the password and was jumped on by one of the Rockweilers which guard the property. I was told that my bed linen was going to be changed on Saturday morning. I came back to the cabin in the evening and it had not been changed. On Sunday morning I again requested clean linen, then went out for the day. I came back early evening still no clean linen, so went to request again for some, and was told they had forgotten my request from the morning. I would not recommend this property to anyone! As customer service does not exist. I had paid Ms Bridget in cash for my cabin and the next day, her daughter asked me for payment! Don’t these women talk to each other? For the 8 nights I stayed here I battled bugs every night. I am aware that this is normal in the Caribbean but a mosquito net would have meant that most of the bugs were not on the bed beside me. There is a lot that could be improved. 1. Provide information about the Wi-Fi Most accommodations provide you with basic information on a laminated sheet in the room 2. Provide mosquito nets for rooms that do not have air conditioning 3. A basket with a a couple of sachets of tea and coffee in the -rooms would be a nice touch and a bottle of water. This is the bear minimum of hospitality. Unfortunately my experience was not a one off, as other people checked at Wilton house as we were attending wedding and the experienced the same crap service. I was told to my face… after paying over $600, that she was not cooking breakfast as there were no guests at the property.

The place is worn out, practically everything non functional (except internet). Daytime receptionist is a total sourpuss and conpletely unhelpful. STAY AWAY. Just a terrible place and for $50 a night a total ripoff. I'd pay $10 max or better yet not pay and go somewhere else!

I truly enjoyed my time at Jack Sprat's. The beach was small and safe and the food was great, we had good service. The atmosphere was friendly and chilled out. I am looking forward to visiting there again.
