Mara Kimana Camp is a small tented camp, situated on the banks of Sekenani River, 2kms from Sekenani Gate. It is accessible from outside before the Sekenani Gate and inside through Sekenani Gate within the Masai Mara Game Reserve. Kimana is within a small, cool and serene woodland environment.
I spent a couple of nights at Mara Kimana Camp with my group of 29 participants from Pacific Union College. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The 12 tent cabins were spread out among the trees. The cabins were were impressively spacious and comfortable with electricity and hot water. The dining room was comfortable and the food was delicious. WiFi was available at the dining room area but not in the cabins. As a biology professor I enjoyed seeing the Vervet Monkeys at the camp plus a variety of butterflies and birds. The camp is surrounded by an electric fence so it's safe from larger and potentially dangerous animals. I highly recommend staying at the camp.

Overlooking the Talek River, at the very confluence of Mara’s four game-viewing areas, Mara Intrepids Camp enjoys one of the most spectacular locations in the world’s best-known wilderness.
The experience was beyond our expectations, we were wowed by almost everything and everyone?. Most of the tents have breathtaking views of Talek River, the sounds of the river sings lullaby to you and the hippos offers the wake up call to you. The standards on food, house keeping, game drives and the rest of the amenities are just perfect, we are already looking forward to sending our guests your way to experience the same. Special thanks to Mr Kevin Achungo and his team for the incredible pampering (can't forget to mention Geofrey and his team at Mara Explorer, Simon the guide, Mary, Duncan among others)...amazing team. The Bush breakfast was just amazing! We highly recommend Mara Intrepids and Mara Explorer, already looking forward to our next stay.

The Great Rift Valley Lodge & Golf Resort enjoys one of the most spectacular views in all of Africa. The lodge sits at about 7,000 feet, from which elevation it enjoys magnificent views to the west and east. The Vistas stretch from the sparkling waters of Lake Naivasha to jogged volcanic crater of Mount Longonot and, beyond, the sloping shoulders of the Aberdare Mountains - Kenya's most important watershed.
The ambience was good with hospitable staff. Enjoyed the conference facilities and social activities within the lodge. The restaurants were offering good continental dishes, they have a good golfing facility and tennis court for those who would like to venture into sports and would be ideal for family vacation

Tortilis Camp has a prime location for witnessing the majesty of Africa’s highest mountain, Kilimanjaro. The camp is named after the flat-topped, umbrella thorn tree, the Acacia Tortilis, and embraces a hill in one of Amboseli’s areas of Acacia Tortilis woodland. Located in a private conservancy bordering the national park, game drives, walks, sundowners and bush meals take place both inside the national park and in the conservancy, where guests enjoy exclusivity. The tents are all spacious, with king or twin beds and elegant en suite bathrooms. There is a main lounge, bar and dining area, all exquisitely built with natural materials and thatched roofs, with magnificent views of Kilimanjaro. The Private House and Family Tent are located slightly separate to the main camp, upon the hill where they share a pool and enjoy magnificent views of Kilimanjaro. Tortilis Camp was one of the first eco-lodges of its size, and is very proudly 100% solar. Guests can rest assure they are leaving a minimal footprint during their stay.
Our recent stay in Kenya was our fourth visit to such a lovely country. Very surprisingly for some, it was the first time we had actually travelled to Amboseli National Park. In May we took a nine-day safari with Sunworld Safaris and focused on southern parks and conservancies, near the Tanzanian border, hoping to get lots of views of Kilimanjaro. ( we did - nearly everyday) Our last two nights were spent at the Elewana Tortilis Camp in Amboseli National Park. We could not have asked for a better place to spend our last two days. Graeme and Candy, who keep a very visual presence at all times, manage the camp with meticulous grace and style. The staff is well trained and a special shout out definitely goes to our room steward, Jackson who was excellent. The room was kept spotless and the attention to small details were appreciated. The camp is very eco-friendly and we appreciated their efforts in this area. Many parts of the world have much to learn from Kenya when it comes to recycling, providing water dispensers and general use of solar power. One small problem we did encounter which is not fault of the property; is some of the other guests staying at the property did not seen to have the same desire for silence as we do when on safari. We noticed a couple of people making an annoying “Facetime” video call in the lobby area of the camp. Also, our afternoon naps were interrupted by people in adjacent tents, making video calls while outside and not using earphones. Graeme and Candy were very supportive of our comments on this issue and the only reason I mention it here is, if you are planning a safari please do not do this at any camp. It is totally annoying and rude. No one else needs to listen to your talk to your friends and family back at home. Most people on safari have paid a lot of money to escape to hear the sounds of animals and birds not “Facetime” calls. Finally, the Elewana Torlilis Camp is registered with “Pack for a Purpose” so if you decided to visit be sure to check the “Pack for a Purpose” website to see if you can squeeze a few needed items in your bag. Candy and Graeme were very thankful for the few items we were able to present them. An excellent place to stay.

Welcome to Fig Tree Camp.
One of the best located camps in Mara. Surrounded by the river on three sides, you can't ask for anything better. Wake up to the sounds of animals and birds and feel being one with the nature. You step out of the camp and one is greeted with hundreds of herbivores grazing on the endless plains. The staff is excellent, supremely curtious, ready to look into your minute requests. Mr Kerore, the manager, is always present to run the show impeccably. Vivian, the young Masai girl, at the frontdesk will make you feel so special. I spent 3 nights and want to come back sooner than later....

Kibo Safari Camp is a luxury tented camp picturesquely set within the Amboseli National Park Reserve in Kenya overlooking majestic Mt. Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa. It is less than 2km from the KWS Amboseli National Park Kimana Gate. The Camp is beautifully landscaped, incorporating an open terraced restaurant and bar under acacia trees, with a swimming pool.
I stayed here with 5 of my friends. When you arrive at reception you are blown away by how beautiful it is. The tented rooms were luxurious. The staff were so friendly. It is a 5 minute drive to the wonderful Amboseli park. Here we saw lots of elephants, hippo and lots more. Having Kilimanjaro in the background makes this camp a must. The food was buffet style. There was lots of variety and Milton made the best pizza!! A wonderful stay.

Situated at the heart of the Rift Valley, the Lake Nakuru national park is home to one of the most amazing ornithological spectacles in the world - the flight of the flamingos! Aside from the flamingos, the park has over 450 species of birds - a heaven for any avid bird watchers. The park is also a sanctuary to the highly-endangered black Rhino and abounds with other game such as buffalos, lions and the elusive leopard. Just two hour's drive from Nairobi; Sarova Lion Hill is one of only two lodges situated within the premises of the park. Each of the 67 recently refurbished chalets are equipped with modern conveniences and have an astounding view of the pink rimmed lake and the silhouetted hills beyond. Guests can enjoy country-style dining at the flamingo restaurant or if you like, the chef can set up something special under one of the beautiful acacia trees where one can enjoy lunch with an unobstructed view of the lake. The rift valley bar is just the right spot for that magical sundowner. Cultural dancers delight visitors with their enchanting dancing every night. An inviting swimming pool & sauna facilities are available. Guests can also enjoy outdoor massage treatments with the calming sounds of chirping birds. The property is excellent with all facilities one could expect at a five star hotel. To find that inside the Mara was a delightful experience. Chef Juma Musili obviously lead the F&B production team to an exotic menu catering for all needs. It was very well executed by Chef Kennedy Aluvi. Of particular delight was Chef Moses Bonaya who not only made excellent pasta and pancakes at the live counter but also played excellent guitar and sang for guests. The rooms were very tastefully decorated and comfortable. However no slippers and shaving kit was provided. Neither was there a safe deposit. But the bed was excellent and so was the view from window. The swimming pool provided excellent recreational facilities and also mesmerising view of sunrise over Mara. Overall the staff was very friendly and always eager to help. Two particular team member Denis Meangi and Patricia were worthy of mention. Payments only by credit cards and local currency. No US $. Lastly, Airtel network including 4G was available throughout the Masai Mara National Park!

Just a short drive from the airstrip Keekorok Lodge was built in 1962. It's a lovely, traditional place. The staff made us feel really welcome and we were so comfortable in our individual cabin. The ensuite shower was great. The gardens are delightful and the swimming pool was a joy, we were entertained by the monkey marauders. The pool bar opened up just for us and we had the place to ourselves which was bliss. We stayed 4 nights and would recommend this as there's so much to see in this vast national reserve. The food was great, and the chef catered for my special diet in a considered and creative way which was really appreciated. The staff were so kind and helpful and very well trained. Some aspects of the decor are a little dated but it doesn't matter - this is an atmospheric, charming and traditional place and we loved it!
