We stayed 3 night at the hotel. It is maximum a 2,5 star. We stayed in a room in an annex, clean but rather outdated. Our impression was that everything was closed, due to the shoulder season or COVID-19? We wanted to taste some of the wines, but it was allmost impossible. You can only taste the few they offer at the restaurant’s winelist. You could only do a tasting on Saturdays and it was not one of the days of our stay. On the website they offer you a 8 EUR voucher for tasting wine but you can not use it... Finally they let us taste some wine but only from the bottles that were open so we could not taste the ones we had planned to buy. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant once and we were not impressed. But in Reil there are other lovely restaurants with very good food and service - ex. the restaurant at Zehnthof Hotel and the Pizzeria Caruso. The staff is not at all service minded and not very informative and rather unkind and you get the impression that they really don’t care about the guests. They have a great pool area. We made a booking for the pool area - they allowed 2 in the sauna area, 2 in a relaxing room and 4 in the pool but they book 10 people in each slot which means that two just have to wait stranding with masks with no seats. We are glad that they have COVID-19 restrictions but is dosn`t seem that they have a large overview. We wonder why they run a wine hotel and a wineyard but are not at all interested in the guests or in selling wine to the guests. Wi-fi is free but there is a bad connection. We will definitily chose another hotel when going back to the Mosel which is a lovely area with a lot of opportunities.

I stayed for five days at Hotel Reiler Hof, some of the time attending a Moselle wine festival. I had a standard double room in the main building in typical German style. Everything was nice and clean and the bathroom was almost new. Staff is very friendly and breakfast is also nice. Most of the days the weather was really nice, and I was able to enjoy my breakfast at the terrace with a view to the Moselle river. The wi-fi was really bad for a couple of days, but after I reported the problem it was solved from the next morning. The hotel restaurant, Heim's Restaurant, is very good. The food very tasty and the wine list will keep a Moselle wine enthusiast busy for a while.

Family owned and run, the Hotel faces directly on to the banks of the river Moselle, opposite steep vineyard cladded hills, at the very heart of one of the most picturesque and popular river valley landscapes of Europe. The Hotel itself consists of three buildings, linked by paths through our gardens; the main house, with its river terrace, reception, bar, lounge and dining room: the "Villa": and what was called the "Müllehaus". All are steeped in history, and in Napoleonic times, the "Müllehaus" itself served as a prison, and later became the village "pub" or hostelry. Now, of course, all the guestrooms, the reception areas and the restaurant are newly refurbished, decorated and modernised to the highest standard, and we hope that their warm colours and their lavish interiors will make you feel welcome and "at home."
Had wonderful lunch with long time friends.Location just nice with view of Moselle, service was excellent and food lake perch was perfect only drawback was soup which was little to salty,it was a mushroom cream.Very surprised at wine list nice selection. There is a water fountain with water in middle of walking area, strange

We stayed here for the weekend of Bernkastel wine festival with 2 of our friends. Everything was very clean, beds comfortable, and breakfast generous. Family Daus was vey kind, and helped with advises and recommendations on what to see, where to eat, etc. Even specific diet (gluten intolerance) was accomodated. Great value for money!

The winemaking tradition of our family owned vineyard dates back to 1639. We harvest our own grapes on about three acres in the town of Reil, along the Moselle river. The current winemaker, oenologist Richard Arns, took over the estate from his father Rainer in 1991. First and foremost, we cultivate the typical Moselle Riesling, from dry to residual sweet. However, we also grow the grape varieties of Müller-Thurgau, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir. Since the summer of 2011, our vineyards have been in the process of converting to organic viticulture. mainly sell our wines to private wine lovers, who like to combine their wine shopping with a Moselle vacation. We offer comfortable guest rooms as well as new holiday flats.
At the start of August my wife and I were on a 4 day cycle tour of the Moselle valley and part of the experience was a number of wine tasting events. This at Weingut Arns was the best by far, Alexander explained the methods and processes now used to make wine from a vineyard that has been in the family or generations. Having moved to organic, he with his mother and father took us through many different by enjoyable tastes and seemingly bottles of wine, great hospitality. We were staying in a hotel nearby but having spent 2 hours with them I had wished we had stayed at the guesthouse instead. great experience well worth doing.

I booked this accommodation through booking.com in February 2020 for a trip in September. I was very excited for the trip but unfortunately had to cancel due to COVID-19 and the US to Europe travel ban. On canceling I asked the hotel to refund my pre-paid reservation since fulfillment of their obligation under the contract was now an impossibility. Zehnthoff refused to grant a refund, or even offer a date change or future credit. In addition, they left me snarky messages on the Booking.com messenger. When I explained my situation and the reasons cancellation was beyond my control they merely stated I had to cancel through booking.com and “Sorry, we are still open”. When I asked again further, politely reminding them their country had banned travel from mine they merely replied with an elipses “....” Other hotels I had to cancel with were very understanding and helpful and I plan to re-book with them when I am able to reschedule my trip. This attitude is not only unimpressive when I’ve given them ample time to mitigate damages and possibly re-book the room with local travelers, but also makes me concerned about what the hygiene practices of such an establishment must be if they can not be understanding of a cancellation due to an international public health crisis.

Antique residence of a traditional wine merchants’ family
It is a very nicely decorated suite. The tasteful interior is brought together with attention. Nice spacey bathroom, good sized bedroom and a living area. The building is old and build with thick walls, which makes the temperature inside really nice although it was outside 30+ degrees Celsius. The bed is on the right side really bad. The size of the towels was 50 cm x 100 cm and in our eyes a bit to small. The people are nice and there is enough privacy. Although there is room for improvement it was a nice stay.
