...A wonderful place......to discover, in the vicinity of the beautiful city of Radicofani, Montalcino, San Quirico D'Orcia, Pienza and Montepulciano, near the hot springs of San Filippo, Bagni Vignoni and San Casciano Dei Bagni, Selvella stands the ancient buildings carefully restored to provide a relaxing stay in the countryside.
This was our 3rd visit to La Selvella with our university students studying nutrition, agriculture and the Mediterranean Diet. It is my favorite place in Italy and is an unforgettable experience! Our students always say that staying here is the best part of their month-long trip. Marina is a lovely, gracious host who not only provides a tour of her herb farm, olive groves and farm animals - she also is a fabulous chef who teaches cooking classes to our students. The hotel rooms are lovely and comfortable and all our meals were wonderful. I cannot recommend La Selvella more highly!

We are in the heart of Vald'Orcia our structure is the 'ideal for those who want to spend a holiday to' teach relaxation in contact with nature, come and visit us you will not regret
I stayed here for a week with my boyfriend and we rented an apartment on the first floor. The place is nice, we'll maintained and quiet. The swimming pool is nice and it's easy to spend a day relaxing at the pool. You have to drive approximately 1.5 km from the main road through the hills on a dirt road, so it's not really feasible to take a walk to the nearby village of Radicofani. The owner only speaks Italian but is very friendly.

These courses are also for vegetariani. Le bedrooms, 5 are furnished in tuscan style, with bath, beautiful view on the valleys of vald 'orcia, free parking and breakfast buffet with own production and sweet cakes miscellaneous
We are staying in a local farm for a wedding, and wanted someone near for dinner. Especially as we just drove from florence. We found this gorgeous little restaurant on tripadvisor and as it was only 10mins away wanted to try it out. We were not disappointed. The chef who took my reservation was delightful. I am gluten intolerant which is a bit of a bummer coming to italy, but she accommodated for me..which i was grateful for. The place wasnt busy but that didnt take anything away from the experience and of course the food. Definitely would recommend.

The San Giorgio holidays farm is situated in Umbria on the hill, 3,5 km far from Orvieto in a panoramic location 250 mt above the sea level, along the road to Peglia’s mount. Active since 2000, the structure is linked to the agricultural activity of the farm. It’s family run, cozy, simple with a discrete countryside hospitality.
We stayed here last night & I agree w/complaint about Via pilgrims. Although we were paying customers & Via walkers, the reception was impatient & cordial. They did have beer (very welcome after 16 miles) and made us a cheese & meat plate so we didn’t starve. There are no other services if you are walking. The accommodations were clean and comfortable. The pool was closed. I would not recommend going in shoulder season. We felt as if we were a bit of an inconvenience. We skipped breakfast because they told us the bus to Radicofani was at 8 so we had walked the 1.2 miles to find out it is at 8:25! We could have had coffee first!! ? Had they lowered their prices for limited services I would give it a higher rating.

Podere Pietreta is a large, old house from the eighteenth-century, entirely in stone, that was recently the subject of a careful and passionate restoration, maintaining the particular architectural qualities of the structure and using only original materials. The estate is positioned on a hill, in a position of exceptional beauty within the natural and artistic park of Val d'Orcia, declared a world heritage site by UNESCO. The farmhouse, 500m above sea level, dominates the hills that slope towards the plane: from here you can admire a vast natural setting, from Monte Cetona to the cliffs of San Casciano, from the rock of Celle sul Rigo to the slopes of Monte Amiata.A park of three hectares surrounds Podere Pietreta. Under the shade of large oaks, there is a panoramic swimming pool with a Roman staircase (6x12m).There are 3 inviting apartments and two double bedrooms that are available for guests - of varying sizes - and a beautiful independent house - also in stone - newly restored; there is a warm and refined atmosphere, the residences are elegantly furnished with furniture from the era.The apartments are all on the ground level and have a private entrance; for each of these, there is a private space with a large umbrella, table, chairs and barbecue. Each apartment is located on one of the three sides of the farmhouse, ensuring that guests have complete privacy.
I fully recommend Podere Pietreta. Beautiful setting, landscape and gorgeous house. It gives you the immediate warm feeling of being at “home”! In addition, many outings to take advantage of. Wonderful sites nearby. Hospitality at its best. But what I appreciate most, especially in this smart-working period, is the excellent internet connection not easy to find elsewhere. Definitely coming back soon for a longer period!!!!

We stayed here for 5 days in August of this year. We have 3 kids, 13, 10 and 8. The property we stayed in was the 3 bedroom cottage, which is attached to the main house. We had our own livingroom/kitchen and 2 bathrooms, both with showers. The property was clean when we arrived and the host (Tara) very welcoming and friendly. The kitchen has all the utensils and cooking pans/equipment you need for elf catering and if you need any other bits then Tara is always more than happy to help. Locally there is lots to do,but we decided to relax a lot by the pool. You are 30 minutes away from San Fillip, which is an amazing (and free) hot stream and waterfalls. Also, near the town of Pienza you can go and see Gladiators home in Tuscany. Tips - Tara will sell you some fruit and vegetables, so just ask her There is a shop in Radicofani, 15 mins away. There is nothing in the apartment at all. No salt or milk, so GET supplies. Sundays the shops are shut half the day. You can drink the tap water there. A fan is provided. Even in 35 degree heat the apartment was OK as long as we used the fan to ventilate.

La Palazzina is a hunting villa built in the second half of the XVIIIth century, set on a hill at an altitude of 580 meters above sea level, maintaining its original status of private residence, open to friends and available for rentals. The villa is surrounded by a rich evergreen park with holm-oak and cypress trees and by an olive grove with over 1300 trees, which are sufficient to cover the estate's demand for fresh olive oil. A circular garden adorns the entrance, once utilized as a bird trap for hunting purposes. The villa holds the original traits of a country house used for celebrations of spring harvest festivals.Three large rooms, with fireplaces, as well as a double room with private bathroom, are found on the ground floor leading to a semi-circular outdoor solarium paved with terracotta tiles. Those large rooms are used primarily as a dining room, bar, library and piano room. The 6meters x 12 meters swimming pool offers a breathtaking view of the rolling hills of Tuscany. The first floor has 8 double rooms, 3 with twin size beds and 5 with king size beds, all with private bathrooms and shower. There are 4 rooms facing the front side, overlooking the garden and facing west and the remaining 4 face the valley of Radicofani to the east. The whole villa is furnished with masterpieces from the 1800's and early 1900's.The Main entrance of the building can be reached by car and guests can park their vehicle next to the large plum tree field.Cooking classes, wine tastings, babysitting services, airport transfers, vehicle rentals, self-driven or with private driver, are some of the services that can be organized on request.15% Special discount on entrance ticket to the SPA of San Casciano dei Bagni and to its wellness packages is available to our guest. To reach the villa by car, take the Chiusi-Chianciano Terme exit on A1, turn left at exit and follow SS478 to Sarteano and then to Radicofani. Before you reach Radicofani, turn left at the Celle sul Rigo crossing on the Strada Provinciale della Valle del Rigo road. The villa's cypress tree driveway will be on your right hand side after 2km.
We were a group of 24 people including 9 children between the ages of 1 and 9. We spent a wonderful week at la Palazzina - the pool and the park surrounding the villa were just perfect, and Nicoletta and her team at Verdidea were very responsive and helpful. For the kids it was paradise. The kitchen was big enough and had all necessary amenities. Greta from Verdidea helped us find a cook who prepare dinner for us on a few nights, which was very convenientbwith such a big group. The rooms were nice, all with their own bathrooms. It is an old coutry house so be aware that there is no A/C and you may come across the occasional mosquito or centipede - which was not an issue for us as we considered it part of the Tuscan coutryside experience.

The Farmhouse Podere Pantano is situated along the old road Cassia , 5Km away from Radicofani in a panoramic and peaceful area not so far away from the Spa of San Casciano Dei Bagni,Chianciano Terme and Bagni San Filippo. The Farmhouse gives a confortable atmosphere to all the people who want to relax in the countryside between the mountains Amiata and Cetona and the Trasimeno and Bolsena Lakes.
What can I say? This lovely area, the fabulous house, the fantastic swimming pool and the lovely family who own the house-just wonderful. We had another two weeks here recently and it was just as good as we remembered it. I really hope this will not be the last time we stay at Podere Pantano
