The location is convenient as it is right in town but not much beautiful. The room is ok with a pool at the front. However, considering that the normal rate is quite high, it is a bit disappointing. The breakfast is moderate. There were limited chioces. Staff was helpful.

Welcome to Pawinsin Resort. Lanna modern style and unique decor. Spacious rooms. Enjoy the spectacular mountain view and find seclusion and peace in the heart of Pua. You will also find another work of art at the hotel and can go sightseeing of famous Doi Phu Kha national park.
The room was big and clean. A huge bed and the cleanest and more comfy sheets I had in a while. The room opens on a balcony overlooking the rice fields. Price very much affordable, even for solo/budget travellers. 5min walk from the market. Everyone very nice.

Quite a large hotel, just south of the town, on the main road but set back so no issue with traffic noise, clean and tidy rooms, ample car parking, very good grocery shop on site, restaurant and bar on site...all fine

I just stay for a night at Oopkaew Resort, Pua before moved to Nan city. This resort is located in Pua and far from Nan Airport about an hour (43 km). The room rate is valuable included Thai breakfast style. Room is clean but a bit smell from toilet. This resort is very nice and suitable for relaxing stay because of quite, surround with mountains and fresh air. Also, we can easily go to many local points of interest including walking street. Thank you so much!! Saowanee W.

My first review since October 2019. Don't usually do reviews of places in the country I live but as this was such a fantastic place to stay I wanted to tell everybody about it. Firstly booking the homestay was a breeze as I could communicate with the owners in English. Ross is Australian & his Thai wife speaks perfect English. I originally booked for 2 adults in a 4 bed room as I was unsure my son's could come. As soon as I booked the property it became sold out as the property has a policy for only 1 group at a time. My son's did come in the end so we had 1 room & I was able to pay the extra at the end of the trip. There is another 4 bed room on the upstairs floor with a small downstairs bedroom for 2 so I could have had a maximum of 10 adults in my group. The bedroom was a good size for 4 & the view out of the French window was amazing. I loved the TV / dinning area between the two bedrooms where we had breakfast & what a breakfast! We were given the choice of 2 English style breakfasts or 2 Thai style breakfasts which I ordered a week before our visit, served with homemade bread & fresh fruit. Almost forgot the coffee before breakfast sat out on the balcony, so relaxing. Never been anywhere that served afternoon tea, but wow, certainly 11/10 for the cake. If you weren't back in the afternoon you could have it after dinner. Easy to find restaurants in Pua. We found Pua an excellent base to do our day trips in the mountains. Thank you Ross & Ahe for your fantastic hospitality. Hope to see you again

On the plus side, this resort is conveniently located for a stay in the area, looks attractive, has comfortable beds, is clean, has pleasant staff, and a good Thai breakfast buffet. The downside is the noise; our Blue Room was about 80-100m from Highway 101 and the incessant traffic noise was pretty awful. Also, the walls between rooms appear to be poorly soundproofed. When trying to sleep, we could clearly hear people in the next room talking (not shouting, just talking normally). Very frustrating. Our Blue room was attractively designed, but a bit short on amenities; electric sockets not convenient (only on one side of the bed), only one bedside table, no bedside lights, no hooks in the bathroom for hanging a toiletry bag or dressing gown.... If we'd paid, say, THB2,000 for the room and breakfast, I would feel the value was reasonable (but the noise...). However, we paid over THB4,000 a night which I don't think the quality of the accommodation matches up to. Good luck to them, I say, if they can fill the resort (12 rooms the receptionist told me) at such prices, but we won't be staying here again.

Pua is not a big town but it has plenty of things going on. This organic farm is in a nice area where it takes a rugged road to the side of the hill. Raithonruk has around 5 cottages in the large area of the resort and all are designed for comfort perfection. The bed is one of the coziest one I've been on, while the balcony area, bathrooms and kitchen are very nicely designed with the surroundings. The patio area really asks us to stay and forget the rest of the world. Placid. Food is all harvested organically, so the morning breakfast are from the fields that the project makes. They look to be expanding as we saw a coffee shop being constructed and some more fields. Going in December, all of the crops would be already harvested and empty. All in all, best place for sleep and enjoying the nature in the morning.

The word Homestay says it all. It is really staying in a house within a compound that is genuinely true to the heart, local. The owner had constructed two lodges on stilts set on a small incline which gave a high viewpoint into the paddy fields. The majestic mountainous backdrop looms beyond. Unfortunately, this July 2019, there is a drought, so the paddies were mostly lacking greenery. The bamboo walkway creaked as we made our way to our rustic lodge. Within the room, basic necessities were provisioned for. The fridge, the kettle, the TV and a nice petite bathroom. It is a homestay, but that which you need not share common facilities with the owner or the other guests. You have a small temporary home of your own. Two single beds occupied most of the room space. Small and thus very cozy. The simple décor brought some liveliness and the cleanliness was in check. At night, the nearby gecko croaked loud. The morning breakfast was fresh cooked right in front of us under a straw roofed shack. The greens we had were from their garden, it was really farm to fork. Simplistic this homestay may be, but generous portions the food that was served. The owner herself was the chef and we chatted away while enjoying her good cooking. Not your blend sausage and eggs slapped on a plate, but some really sincere local dishes such as stir-fried gourd with egg. Our neighbor came soon after and was served their own set of breakfast. The ambience was casual, the friendliness among all transpired. A brief walk in the garden after just to see the beginnings of farm to fork. It was filled with fluttering butterflies siphoning honey from the myriad of vibrant small flowers. Soon after, we packed and parted with friendly goodbyes. My tires gripped the gravel and made that grinding resonance, and when I reached the tarmac I turned left and headed for Phu Langka. Cozy, homey, authentic and priced right for our personal lodge. I wouldn’t ask for more.
