We stayed here and had the gourmet package which we would highly recommend as it was excellent value for money. The food and wines were excellent and the tour of the pesquera bodega was excellent. The design of the hotel is very nice however there are bits that look tired. The spa was a nice treat but there are parts of it that were not working. We are fortunate that my husband is exceptionally fluent in Spanish otherwise this would have been a challenge for anyone without a basic command of Spanish. I think a longer stay than two days would have been too long for some.

In the heart of the Ribera del Duero, you will find Restaurante Hotel La Vida Spa. It consists of accommodation for 34 people in 17 manicured, comfortable and spacious double rooms of which 5 are junior suites, with bathroom with exterior views, heating, air conditioning, telephone, television, minibar. WI-FI in common areas. . Conceived, built, designed and decorated under the techniques of FENG-SHUI (air-water). Artistic and scientific focus, but above all human, to create an environment in harmony. Integrated into the SLOW Movement, which is governed worldwide by the philosophy of deceleration, the love for the slow, the small and the local. We have a meeting room, social lounge. Large entrance with cloister around a small central courtyard. Our restaurant with local dishes and our spa, for private use and with a wide range of treatments, stand out.
This hotel is situated 5 min drive from Peñafiel in a very small rural village. In general the hotels in the area are expensive and we expected to have more value for money when we booked this Hotel. The pictures are very well done and give a luxury impression. However the truth is that this is a average hotel. The village is very small and you have to go to Peñafiel if you want to go out for dinner. The hotel serves dinner but you have to advise them in front. However the restaurant has not much ambience and you probably find yourselves alone. The Spa is small and nothing very special.

At the last moment we changed our plans of staying in the Castilla Termal in Valbuena to stay here and be in town. Big mistake. The drive to get to the hotel is difficult through a narrow street by the river dodging people walking on the street and then a bridge that hardly fits two cars. But we did it for three days with only one hit to the curb. The hotel inside is nice. You can see the Castillo Peñafiel from the parking lot. Nice photo. As soon as you enter it smells clean and is very clean. We noticed that right away. The 3 points instead of 2 is because of the cleanliness. Also the restaurant was nice for one night. The beds were comfortable, but the bathroom was a challenge. You could hardly open the glass door to enter the shower because the bidet stops it. The shower was this huge system that you had to get under it to turn it on. As soon as you turned it on, you would get this hard spray of cold water to your head. We left the setting to open the hand held spray first and we put it facing the wall. Once the water heat up a little, we would change the setting to the shower, but still got a hard hit gosh of cold water first. it was annoying, to say the least. One of the sprays came straight to your chest and trying to avoid it, it soaked the towels hanging on the other wall . That's how strong this thing is. There was no space to stand to the side of this huge shower system. From the first day we kept letting the front desk know that our a/c was not stopping once it reached the temp we set of 24. Every night we kept having to get up to turn it off because it was too cold and then turn it on because the room was hot. We let them know every single day for three days and all we got was a front desk attendant trying to figure out the problem in her head. One of her recommendations was that she was going to set it to 23. I guess they control it, but that didn't make any sense. We got tired of trying to get them to understand. We left early in the morning and came back at the end of the day, so they had ample time to send someone to our room to fix it or at least look at it and see if it had something to do with the settings. On the last day we forgot to remove the red sign and the room was not cleaned, but that was our fault. But no comment that they had sent someone then, which would have been just as bad since it was our third day complaining, so they completely ignored our request and upon check out did not even apologize for the inconvenience we dealt with for 3 days. Breakfast was included, but we tried to go somewhere else and could not find any place nearby. The choices were not that great. The first day we asked for a tortilla and was offered bacon with it so we said okay. The tortilla was a flat rolled up omelette with nothing in it and the bacon was not cooked to a crisp. It was still pink and soft. They have parking right in front of the hotel, but you have to pay for it when you're already paying to stay there. That does not make sense, but seems to be a norm in Spain. We will definitely return to Ribera del Duero, but will stay at the Castilla Termal de Valbuena next time. This place will not get our business again.

It is clean and functional. Common areas are pretty. Rooms are a bit tired, torned towels, peeled off wallpaper, patchy Internet access and a really meagre breakfast. People are just about friendly enough but nothing over and above.

Impecable service, cleanliness and charm. Felix the owner gave us a great overview of the place and area. Felix the owner greeted us, gave us an overview of Peñafiel, recommended activities for us and had a binder full of information ready for us. Best of all, Felix had stocked the fridge with Water, Orange Juice, jamón serrano, cheese, regular ham, bread, coffee and Magdalenas for our consumption. The service was extraordinary.

Excellent campsite. Excellent location to the town, very friendly and helpful staff and a lovely restaurant on site. The site, shower locks and toilet are all cleaned regularly, are in good working order and the showers aren’t on a timer. All in all, couldn’t be faulted:

Despite being on the main road, we had a very good night's sleeip at Hostal Infante. The beds were incredibly comfortable and the room and bathroom were spotless. The owner was very pleasant and the whole hotel is kept to a very high standard. Some of the furniture is a little dated and the rooms are quite small, but the value for money here is excellent.
