We stayed here during a visit to Parkersburg. The hotel was not to far out of the city, it was well maintained and clean. We have not stayed in very many HI Exp and this one did not disappoint. Everything about the hotel from the lobby to the room and staircase were immaculate. Room and bath were super clean, attached pic of tub. The breakfast was very good with a lot of selection including hot eats. My only complaint was that the hot tub at the pool was uncomfortably hot I only stayed in a minute or two and wanted to spend more time because we had been doing a lot of walking prior to our arrival.

Dogs: I was told at booking AND check in they honored ESA, waiving the pet fee. When later I was told ‘no’ by the manager, who waved a piece of paper of rules in our face, she barely apologized for the lack of staff communication. Wasn’t even about the $50 at this point. Really disappointed.

The best staff you can’t find in any other hotels. From front desk ( James) who is very helpful in finding me the best rooms and Nina, who is the best breakfast associate any guest would like to greet you in the morning. Very welcoming and takes care of everyone who wants to have a sumptuous breakfast! Fresh fruits, and food every time i come. I stay here instead of the hotels from Marietta or Mineral Wells for personnel like Nina and James. Thanks to both! They are keepers and know their craft.

Orange juice from a dispenser, diluted to 99.9% water. Grisly sausage. Paper-thin bacon. Processed eggs. Bio-engineered yogurt. What more might you not want? Of course, one comes here primarily to sleep, not to dine, and the room was quite satisfactory. The beds were comfortable, although the thickness of the box springs and mattresses made them difficult to climb into. Our room was clean and quiet, and the motel's location close to I77 was convenient.

Very unwelcoming, from the very start of walking into the hotel. No one behind desk. Had to wait on someone to arrive. Then had to look through a tiny square hole to talk to attendant. Plexiglass was littered with how much they weren’t doing for anyone, breakfast, cleaning, renting to locals etc…Then they have ridiculous sign in procedure with so many things to initial and sign felt like I was buying a house. Walking into the room, the entry light didn’t work, had to walk through room looking for light switch in the dark. Bed was slanted down on headboard side and very worn. Headboard was falling apart. The plug and USB charger on side of bed was broken and taped to night stand. Bathroom was so small it was unbelievable. The wall was falling apart in the bathroom. Paint overspray on ceiling line. And worst of all, no ac controls. So, I slept in a very hot room. For over $100 for 6 hours of sleep and 10 hours of occupancy…. No thanks. Never again and highly suggest you book elsewhere.

We had a pleasant overnight stay here (Feb 2022), and found the guest room to be large, clean and comfortable. The kitchenette in the guest room was well equipped. Staff were friendly and helpful. The chief disappointment was the new breakfast --- of prepared pre-packaged items. This is a brand new Marriott innovation, rolled out just this month, according to staff. The egg, cheese & sausage and egg-cheese-'bacon' in a biscuit were inedible; especially disappointing since we expected the usual eggs or omelets with real bacon or sausage. There was cold cereal and orange juice, though, as well as yogurt, blueberry muffins, oatmeal, bananas and hard boiled eggs available. We were surprised to learn from management that there is no recycling in the hotel. And a note for those who are concerned about Covid and safety measures: Not all staff wear masks, and there are fewer sanitizer dispensers and precautions around the breakfast area than we typically see. (Also, it seemed that fewer than half the guests wore masks in public spaces.) While we liked this property and the staff, this stay left us wondering whether Marriott has lowered its standards -- with the lousy breakfast and no recycling...

Despite this being a no smoking hotel, We clearly had a room that had been smoked in for years. It absolutely reeked of smoke to the point that our clothes in our suitcases took on the smell. An obvious attempt by staff to cover the smoke smell with air freshener/ chemicals made it worse. The tub was in need of a total reno. Grout was dirty and parts were missing. The tub was badly stained. There was a hole in the wall behind the bathroom door large enough for a rodent to fit through. The entire room was grubby looking. One bedspread was badly stained and there was a small burn hole in the blanket of the other bed. The rug clearly hadn’t been vacuumed as there was a noticeable pile of dirt in the corner. While packing up our stuff to leave my daughter noticed a bug crawling up the wall. To be fair, we did not bring up these concerns to a staff member at the time. It was late and we were tired after a long drive. We slept a few hours and left long before check out time. Live and learn.
