How to get there – We drove from Gurgaon to Pali. Started at 4 am, and it took us about 8.5 hrs to reach the hotel including a 30 mins stopover. Roads are amazing, with no major traffic and no bottlenecks. The picturesque drive makes it quite pleasant. Key attractions – Brij Lakshmansagar is built around zero kilometer concept, made self-sustainable as far as possible. Small elements which made our stay memorable: 1. Own vegetable farm next to the resort 2. Milk and other supplies from the village in which the resort is situated 3. Manmade water body in the resort premises with boating and fishing facility 4. Authentic Rajasthani food 5. Nature walk with sunset viewing and live fritters and tea at the hillock 6. Foot Massage after the nature walk to relax the muscles 7. Huge huts with room, bathroom, dining area, personal pool, Outside seating area Food – Freshly cooked food from freshly plucked vegetables. One could feel the freshness in the crunchiness of the salad. Authentic Rajasthani taste and chefs make meals as per requirements. Live cooking classes in the evening. Exclusive Leopard Safaris - Maharana Pratap, a great warrior and a legend in ( Mewar ) Udaipur and Indian History, marked out a territory for his fourth son Rana SHEKHA, where he could settle – Rana SHEKHA first settled in a place now called Juna(old) Bera and later he moved his settlement 3 Km West, to a place, now known as Bera. Bera, a small hamlet situated in the Aravali range of Rajasthan and surrounded by lakes and dam.
Castle Bera has the entire royalty experience. Pioneers in hospitality in jawai and Bera . If you are looking at Luxury par excellence- Castle Bera is the right place to be . Over 350 years old property with luxuriously designed rooms and spacious bathrooms (tub also) a long verandahs and private sitting areas . Traditionally dressed Rabari tribes women / herds women and men were at our service right throughout our stay. The Royal experience is unmatched. We were very fortunate to see three Leopards in our first safari we saw the cubs in broad day light drinking water and their mother safe guarding them . The safari tracker guide was also our jeep driver who was confident . Exemplary Castle Bera hospitality amidst the gorgeously laid our Aravali range mountain topography is indeed like an oasis in the desert. Bera is known for its quilting (Bera jackets) / safari coats and jackets is the one specialty of locals and is revived by Yaduveer at the castle. The hospitality was remarkable. Thank you so much team Castle Bera .

The first thing that you notice when you turn into the Jawai Leopard Safari Lodge from the main road is the sheer isolation of the place. Tents and cottages in the middle of no where in arid leopard county. The tents and cottages are well made. We stayed in the stone cottage for a night. The cottage has the ambience that befits the surrounding area. The bed, flooring and washroom are good enough for an isolated camp but can be improved further considering the tariff of the room. There is ample storage space with drawers and a large wooden cupboard. Cleanliness and upkeep is good but can be further improved. You might find a few insects in the room given it's a desert area. The food is good and decently priced with prompt service. Do keep in mind that Rajasthan is famous for spicy food so convey your tolerance before ordering. The night time brings an eerie calm over the camp site and offers a great opportunity for star gazing with a drink or two. Do carry all your essentials and your supplies because there is nothing nearby in a few km radius.

An ancient land, dominated by craggy granite boulders where the boundaries of the three kingdoms of Marwar, Mewar and Sirohi once converged. Here the Jawai river and lake formed by the resorvior is the heart and soul of this arid region, providing sustenance to mankind and wildlife. Nestled at the base of a sheer granite outcrop called Nag Giri or Cobra mountain is Jawai Sagar. These outcrops are also the abode of the resplendent Indian leopard. The northern edge of the resort is lapped by the waters of the Jawai lake where the Indian Mugger crocodile might be seen basking in the sun while flocks of flamingos and pelicans lazily circle the waters. At night the stars shine in the clear skies and the waters of the lake shimmer in the moonlight. The silent night only broken by the call of the great horned owl as he alerts the animals of the prowling Leopard.
We stayed here for one day at hotel jawai sagar and we received amazing service there. The food was very delicious The best part is the view from the room balcony which gives you the view of the whole jawai sagar lake and the mountains which is also the home for few leapords.

Jawai Castle Resort was the most hospitable out of all my destinations during my Rajasthan road trip. The rooms were clean, staff was very proactive and the food was amazing. The hosts were helpful enough to self-cook some amazing Rajasthani dishes for us. They even arranged a Jeep Safari for us and was indeed one of the best 24-hour halt we've done.
