Perfect location for a quiet holiday
Reviewed By inki69We had book a sea view room, instead they told us that we get a room at the backyard. They discounted the room, but failed to tell us that there was a building site facing the room. Also they informed us 24 hours before arrival that we needed a COVID test in spite of being double vaccinated. On the good side the hotel is centrally located with 15 minutes walk to the pier with plenty of restaurants and bars. Sandy beaches are just outside the hotel. The room was clean and comfortable bed. In spite of the above mishaps we enjoyed the stay.

A good hotel for a family
Reviewed By MGMagdaWe spent three nights at the hotel. Our room had a separate bed room, which was optimal for a family. The breakfast was good. The hotel is a bit away from the city center, but with a bike that is no problem. The service was excellent. We enjoyed our stay.

So if you don't like the standard cushion with fibre-filling, you can just call/pass the reception and ask them to bring a feather/down filled cushion instead. Or one of the other varieties. It's free of charge, unlike the 10,- Euro fee for room-service. Very nice hotel, even if the color-scheme looked a bit 70's to me and my wife. Good service - including help to get your luggage up and down from your room. The spa is well equipped, with different sauna types, relax areas, bubble-bath and a main pool with direct access to an outdoor section. Various water jets etc can be turned ON in the main pool by pushing buttons located beneath water level. That's all included in the room. Additional services like massage or yoga can be ordered and payed separately. Check opening schedules for the various parts. Ex. the saunas are not heated until 13.00. But I'm glad we were there out of season, because I could imagine it would be rather crowded in the spa area in high season. The hotel has free parking (included) a very short walk from the hotel, but they also have a garage beneath the hotel (surcharge?). The breakfast table is a large as you can imagine for a German hotel on this level. Meaning that you'll need a week to eat your way through all the variety on offer. Quite a lot of ecological choices as well. The bread selection could use a slight boost of ecological products. The evening restaurant food is excellent, but with prices to match the location. In total we found the Ostseehotel Kühlungsborn to be slightly overpriced.

Big room with sun and a great view
Reviewed By Louise CWe stayed in the corne suite. Balconies on both sides. On one side you can even see the sea. The rooms are big. Only complain is the cleaning. They dont vaccum clean everyday which is much needed when you travel with a little child. Otherwise the stay was nice, the staff friendly and helpful. In the spa kids are only welcome at specific times.

Reviewed By John GStopped off one night on our cycling tour of the Baltic Coast. Rooms were bright and clean and bed was reasonably comfortable. Staff were polite and helpful (although the wi-fi password took some time to find). Good buffet breakfast with a wide choice available.

Super Hotel near to Beach

It looked as if it had been recently renovated and was very clean and well maintained (thank you Housekeeping!). Our room was large and well fitted with a small pantry. The breakfast was superb and well worth taking your time over. We had top weather during our stay which was even better. The hotel is less than 100m from the beach. We will go back to kuhlungsborn as it is a lovely unspoilt seaside town (no bright lights & Amusement Arcades) but a lovely beach promenade to walk for Kilometers. We can definitely recommend this Hotel and when we return we will go back.

Great place to stay
Reviewed By RGB589This was our second stay at the Hotel am Westrand; we were there last year for two weeks. There is simply no bettter place to stay in Kühlungsborn. The room was excellent; the personnel were most friendly and helpful. Fresh rolls and the daily paper delivered to our room at eight a.m. was a great way to start the day. The beach is, at the most, a two-minute walk from the hotel. We're looking forward to coming back again.
