Amazing surprise to find so perfect, comfortable and stylish place on the way from Leipzig to Prague. Small oasis for travelers. Was there with friends and everyone liked delicate dishes. Very grateful to the bartender for providing a selection of various cocktails

Při návštěvě města Jáchymov jsme zavítali do této restaurace.

K snídani jsme si mohli vybrat co bychom si dali. Většinou jsme měli míchaná vajíčka s pečivem a studenou místu (sýry/salámy/šunka/ovoce a v den příjezdu jsme si zde dali i večeři. Na výběr toho bylo opravdu hodně. Jediné co bych trochu vytknul je lokalita, hned vedle domu je silnice a projíždějící auta ruší, ale není to nic na co by si člověk nezvyknul a na našem pokoji nebyl téměř signál na wifi, což nám ani nevadilo, máme neomezená data.

Our stay in Hotel Subtera was cheap - it is important to say in the begining. So we didn't have high expectations. What is as well important to say in the introduction - hotel Subterra by no means can't be marked by 3*. Officialy it is 3* but in actual fact it is clear 2* level, but absolutelly not 3*. Hotel is situated in a village Horní Žďár only a few kilometres from Ostrov, not far from Karlovy Vary. A car is necessity for the visit here. I can't imagine how to get there by any public transport. From outside is the hotel rather nice. Reception is probably operated only during the night, during the day is service ensured by the restaurant. The receptionist not only don't say you hello but even don't answer you for your greeting. The staff in the restaurant was in the other side very very kind. The hotel is missing elevator. Our 2-bed room in the second floor was spacious and clean. In the room there was small flat-TV, wc and bath-room, 2 glasses, soap. The sleep here was rather comfortable but in the room you will significantly hear the noise from other rooms and from corridor. Wifi is in the hotel free, but I couldn't catch signal in our room. The equipment is overall old. In the restaurant (The Duck restaurant) it is very similar. There was too too hot and it was not very spacious. Our stay-package contained half-menu and this was big disadvantage because you don't have any choice. For instance 3-courses dinner with heavy czech dishes and no choice is not very good for the slim figure. The breakfast was overall poor with small choice and with cheap products. Wellness with whirlpool, massage showers, steam and infra-sauna sounds good. But from the water in the whirlpool I didn't have good feeling. The water was not clean and smelled horribly! Overall this hotel is suitable only for unassuming and price-oriented customer who is searching for active holiday in 2* level hotel.

Hotel in Ostrov- small town near Karlovy Vary (8 kilometres). I stayed at this hotel last July and it was really strange stay. They were selling it as 3 star hotel (no way it was somewhere near) - but they had no competition in town, no other hotel in town, only few B&Bs, not promoted at all. The hotel is old, no special services, the room was small, with only table, old tv, one shelf and cupboard, the walls needed to be painted again, dirty carpets everywhere, bathroom was like in some lodging house, etc. The staff had kind of bored attitude, like they don't care, it looked like they really don't know how to do it better. The breakfast was ok, but the restaurant service in the evening was terrible. For that price (ca 60 EUR/night) I would expect it better. The worst thing was the constant loud noise from the pub - which was in the building right under my windows, but the pub was not in the hotels property, so they couldn't do anything with it. I wouldn't choose this hotel next time, but it is closed now anyway (from January 2014).
