Ollantaytambo has some of the oldest continuously-occupied buildings in South America. Once a stronghold of Inca resistance to Spanish colonization, it's remarkably well-preserved. Many travelers visit Ollantaytambo because it's the beginning of the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, but don't rush through—the ruins are fascinating.

Researching hotels in Olly was interesting. I wanted something with some decent amenities and good value. Well this place was fantastic! Service was outstanding. Amenities were great, room was cozy. My wife always ask for AC in rooms, as we are from Florida, so I was concerned, but you don't need AC, the cooler temperatures at night make it more then cool enough. We had a rental car and we had 2 day MP tour. So we were worried about where we could leave the car while we stayed in AC for one night. We asked the hotel and they allowed us to keep it in there gated parking lot even though we were only staying with them 1 night. This was so helpful and appreciated! The service from the gentlemen at the front desk was exceptional! They helped us with our bags, Breakfast was available at 5am so we could eat before our tour. Rooms were everything we needed and more. The hotel grounds were beautiful! All the places in Olly are in walking distance and the train station is just a 2 or 3 minute walk. Highly recommend this place!

Located on the Ollantaytambo train station, El Albergue is only one train stop away from Machu Picchu and close to many interesting attractions. El Albergue dates back to 1925 and maintains the charm and elegance of the early 20th century while offering modern day requirements such as free high speed internet and in-room telephones. Owned by artist Wendy Weeks, this hotel has beautiful gardens, delicious food featuring ingredients sourced from the on property organic farm, coffee roastery, cañazo distillery and special attention to decor. Room rates include 2 guests, any additional guests will be and added charge.
We stayed at El Albergue for three nights. The hotel is inside the rail station. First the good - the room we stayed in was spotlessly clean. The restaurant was decent and the wait staff friendly. When we checked out, we were presented with a pair of clay bulls - which was a very nice touch. Our main gripe with our stay is the room we were in. We had booked a superior room with balcony. Hotel’s. website described the room as tucked away in the gardens away from the rail station. Our room (24) was tucked in between the rail station and what seemed like a couple of staff only building that emanated hammering noises dawn to dusk. The picture and description of our room say it is a 430 sqft room, consisting of a queen and a twin bed, with a seating area, desk and fireplace. And what looks like a large balcony with a couple of armchairs. Our room only fit one king bed and a desk , no sign of seating area, well short of the 430 sqft that was advertised. We had a balcony that had only one armchair, inadequate for the two of us. Either the hotel’s description is disingenuous or the reception gave us the wrong room. When we brought this to front desks attention, we were told our room is indeed superiors balcony with Mountain View, and that she will talk to the manager. When we inquired in the evening, the front desk did not seem to know of our complaints and proceeded to educate us on the different room types. And that she would talk to the manager next day. At that point we just gave up and bided our time until checkout. We never did see the elusive manager in our three night stay there. The room we were provided had no hanging space. None! We essentially used door knobs for hanging our jackets. One minor gripe- the first two days during our stay, the bathroom only had two bath towels. We thought this was a bare bones hotel and didn’t think to ask. On our last day housekeeping left bath, hand and face towels. The hotel is excellent for a one night stay to or from Machu Picchu. We were hoping to recharge in a beautiful surrounding for a few days, which did not happen. Had I known we would not get the room we paid for, we certainly would not have stayed here. We checked out feeling disappointment in our overall experience with the hotel.

Well located hotel. Easy to walk to amenities and sites and the train station. Friendly staff. A basic option with no toiletries apart from a bar of soap. The WiFi was rubbish. Breakfast was also basic but fresh but twice when we went down when breakfast was supposed to start you don’t actually get it for another 20 mins. Overall, a clean and nice hotel.

We are a new company in the hotel market but we have a vast experience in the field of tourism because of our location. We are the only ones in the center of the living Inca city of Ollantaytambo, therefore the access is pedestrian. We have spacious and modern rooms, each one with private bathroom and hot water 24 hours a day we offer american breakfast Buffet personalized we have a terrace with panoramic view of the mountains and you will surely feel at home because you will be served by the owners Juan and Elsa
I stayed in over a half-dozen 4-star hotels in Peru and Intitambo (a 3-star) was honestly one of my favorite ones. Waking up inside the walls of history inside of a historical city with some of the most amazing sight lines will always be such a great memory. The complimentary breakfast was great, and the people that run the hotel were super kind. If you do stay here, try and get a third floor room, it'll be worth it, trust me.

Apu Lodge is a boutique bed-and-breakfast located in the pedestrian Inca streets of the village of Ollantaytambo and its position on a terrace gives it a fantastic view from all rooms. It has spacious gardens, visited by humming birds, hammocks to relax in after your hike to Machu Picchu or other ruins, and is very peaceful. All rooms have views, private bathrooms with excellent shower and are furnished with simple elegance. Dinner is served in our restaurant. English spoken and excellent advice given on local sites, tours and taxis can be arranged. Please call from the plaza for assistance with luggage as there is no vehicle access.
Booked into the Apu Lodge by our travel company, we had a mixed experience. Plus: the grounds are beautiful and relaxing. The garden with hammocks and hummingbirds surrounded by the sound of wind and rushing water is striking. The lodge has a charming rustic feel. Breakfast was solid. It's a short walk to the central plaza and ruins. Negative: the sound isolation in each room is poor; get a second floor room so you do not hear the people above you. We had ants. The electrical outlet situation is poor. The WiFi is weak. The hot water ran out leaving only a cold shower. Ollantaytambo is a beautiful area and I would return to this village, but not to the Apu Lodge.

Located in the Sacred Valley of the Incas in Cuzco, Peru, our hotel has the best location in Ollantaytambo. Few minutes from the Ollantaytambo town, Cuzco, and just 5 minutes from the train station It is surrounded by archaeological sites and near the hotel you will find cobbled streets where you can walk transporting you to memorable times. Near here, the Patacancha River merges with the Urubamba River, resulting in imposing waters and all the energy that emanates only from the 2,792 meters high place on this part of Cuzco. Starting point of the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu Only 4 kms from the starting point of the Inca Trail, attended by thousands of tourists. You can start the 43 kilometers adventure that will take you to the citadel of Machu Picchu. This wonderful view includes stories told by the knowledgeable guides. The adventure is guaranteed.
Del Pilar is the best hotel I've ever been to. Everything is wonderful in it: the location is amazing in its beauty, the interiors and exteriors of public buildings, and the level of service, and the standard of cleanliness, and the kitchen, and the courtesy and responsiveness of the staff. This is a wonderful place to stay in Ollantaintambo. I have not regretted a single minute of my stay here. The hotel left the best impression of itself. I plan to definitely go back there again. This place is very convenient for visiting the Ollantaintambo complex, the departure point to Machu Picchu by train, as well as for independent hiking in the Andes. This is an exceptional place with an excellent level of service. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is tired of the urban environment, but at the same time does not want to lose in comfort, being in the bosom of nature. From this point of view, the Hotel Del Pilar is the best hotel in all of Peru)

Since 2009 Hotel Samanapaq has been the resting place of explorers of the lost city of the Incas, Machupicchu and of those who came in search of the magic of the Sacred Valley. Our hotel is 2 stars and has 20 comfortable rooms, Cafeteria and breakfast included, WiFi in public areas, relaxing gardens and very cozy spaces; to disconnect and enjoy the perfect vacation.
We stayed in this quaint, updated B&B two nights while exploring the Sacred Valley and catching the train to Machu Picchu. A perfect location and lovely, very clean rooms. Breakfast was great and beautiful grounds to wander through. A highlight was meeting Tula ( owns B&B with her mom) ! She is a wonderful, caring person, always offering suggestions, restaurants etc. enjoyed our conversations! Would not stay anywhere else!

Our sutainable resort is ideally located in the valley of the Patacancha River, two kilometers from Ollantaytambo. We are at walking distance from the millenary pre-Inca fortresses of Pumamarca and Ollantaytambo. We offer free shuttle transportation to and from Ollantaytambo and its train station all day long.
The setting for Las Qolqas is really something spectacular. Nestled against the mountains and next to the Patacancha River, you are immersed in nature from the start. My husband and I spent 2 nights here with our 4-year old in May and the weather was great -- sunny, warm days and chilly nights (perfect excuse to light up the stove fireplace). The tents/rooms are nicely situated and the elements of luxury are thoughtful and never felt pretentious, which I loved. The staff is very friendly and helpful and even invited me to borrow books about Peru and the local culture, which they have available in the lobby. Our nightly Te Piteado with pisco was a real treat! Our daughter loved to explore the hotel grounds, complete with a little water canal and herb garden. I will definitely recommend to friends and family.
