We go to this area a couple times a year and have stayed at this hotel several times before. This was the worst experience and the last time we will ever stay. We were two nights and no maid service. No one made the bed or changed towels. Coffee is now $1.50 a cup and the very rude young woman glared at us until we paid after telling us 4 times to do so. Hallway was dirty. Too expensive for this kind of service. No thank you!

There is nothing typical about the Hotel Zero Degrees Norwalk. From our ideal setting in the heart of Norwalk to the picturesque rooftop terrace, we’ve designed a hotel for travelers who want something different.
This felt like more of a motel then a hotel, it’s fine but didn’t live up to the price. If I had known the quality wasn’t there I would have stayed somewhere else. Room and building needs updating (stained, dirty carpet, old worn furniture). Staff gave us very little information check in, though we had questions about roofdeck, parking, restaurant etc.

The Hilton Garden Inn Norwalk hotel offers world class service, luxury and convenience to business and leisure travelers to Fairfield County, Connecticut. Within walking distance to the Towers Building, i-park Norwalk and Glover Avenue, our suburban Coastal Connecticut hotel offers easy access to I-95 and Merritt Parkway (Route 15).
Leaving Maryland On Friday around noon, we had an uneventful trip until hitting NY city near rush hour with heavy rainfall. Around four hours later we arrive in Connecticut and book online at a Hilton hotel. Upon arriving there we find that there are minus rooms. The hotel manager there hooked us up with another Hilton hotel where we were greeted warmly and served a nice dinner at the hotel restaurant area. This hotel deserves high credits.

We have now stayed in three different properties along Main Street in Norwalk over the past six months. We don’t have to try any new place! This courtyard was completely re-done including modernizing all of the common areas, all the rooms, all the bathrooms, and even the exterior, one year ago. It looks like a brand new hotel. It also feels like a brand new hotel. We were greeted at reception by the very personable, helpful, and friendly woman, Ivory. Clearly, the management of this property has hired exceptional staff from reception to housekeeping. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Like all of the other properties on Main Street, the courtyard is well located to the highways, restaurants, and the surroundings. This is a courtyard so there is nothing unique to describe the layout, furnishings, common areas or amenities. However I can’t emphasize enough how modern, clean and comfortable this particular Courtyard is. Look no further.

Bouncy bed, tiny Bathroom, fridge and microwave in the middle of the room, bad clientele, I would leave ASAP if I could. This feels more like a 1980s Holiday Inn than what I would expect of a Doubletree. Avoid. Pay more and stay in Westport. Do not bring kids here.

Free grab-and-go breakfast: Jumpstart your day with a free grab-and-go breakfast that includes a variety of breakfast bars and muffins, hot cereal, coffee, and tea.
The room had a musty smell something like old cigarette smoke. It was dirty - not filthy but still the kind of room that makes you feel the need for a shower when you get back home. The bathroom had broken wall sections and poor ventilation. The windows had to be slammed very hard to position the lock to work. The kitchen cabinets and drawers were all empty. There was no coffee maker. The door to the microwave was barely functioning. The included breakfast was nothing anyone would seriously consider eating. The clerk tried to double bill us. Some of the clientele were sketchy looking. It isn't the worst hotel in the world but if you pay more than $70 or prefer a clean, odor free room with normal amenities you will be disappointed.

Stayed here for a funeral but despite that being the reason- my family and I really enjoyed our time here. The General Manager went out of his way to accommodate us and make sure we were ok. The hotel is new and super clean. Great rooms and the on site restaurant is really really good. Location is fantastic- plenty to walk to. Would love to stay here again if in area.

THE GUEST HOUSE The rest is history. We’re proud to have completed the restoration of the 1750 homestead at 93 East Avenue – a property that is rich in history – to its original grandeur in 2013. According to historic records, in 1724 Samuel Grumman purchased the property at Grumman Hill, known as Rail Hill at the time. The first record of a house on the property is in Samuel Grumman’s will, in 1750, leaving it to his son Thomas Grumman and his wife Deborah (Deolf) Grumman. In 1779, following General Tryon’s orders to burn Norwalk, the house may have been partially or completely burned. Over the next hundred years, the property was the home to many noted Connecticut families, including the Buckingham-St. Johns, and the Bush and the Hoyt families. During the 20th century, the home was owned by the Nagys, the Eriksons, the Singewalds and the Wiegands. As a tribute to its long history, each suite in the newly renovated Guest House bears the name of its former owners.
This business is not compliant with CT COVID regulations. Front desk staff were wearing their masks around their chins every time I saw them. I commented a maximum of three times with "oh, your mask slipped!" In the late afternoon, I ordered food (from a restaurant, as the hotel was only serving pizza, grinders and salad from a nearby restaurant) and went to the bar to get a beverage to take up to my room when I saw a gathering of more than 25 people in the glassed indoor pool dining area where they were serving a buffet (both not allowed by current CT regulations). One of the people from that gathering was serving, and came behind the bar with no mask whatsoever. I learned the gathering was of the owners and their family. None were wearing masks. I spoke politely to the woman serving, asking why she wasn't wearing a mask, as not doing so was putting staff and guests at risk. I believe she's a family member who also works there. She said "thank you for pointing that out, I'll go get it" (she was the only person there who understands how to handle guests, IMO). Going back to my room, I saw other staff in the halls not wearing masks. I did not say anything to them. After dinner, my daughter and I went to the pool, where I observed the family gathering dispersing but no one wearing masks while walking through the lobby to outside. I approached the front desk and told them I didn't feel safe staying and why, could I please get a refund so we could stay somewhere else. I was told flatly no. After the family gathering fully dispersed, except for one of the owners (Maria), I opened to door to the pool dining area and said "I'm so sorry to bother you but could I speak with you for a moment," and told her I didn't feel comfortable since the mask policy wasn't being followed by owners or staff, her front desk person was rude, and didn't resolve the issue. She insisted I email her so she could investigate, and I started to tell her that I'd prefer to leave now, so that wouldn't work. Her father (also an owner, who wasn't in the room before, but was retrieved by the front desk person) came over and started screaming at me to "leave! Get the f*** out! No money back! Lock their room now!" I was polite and calm throughout all of these exchanges. I want to point that out. I did not respond to the father screaming at me. I turned away and booked it up to our room right after that to get our things before they locked us out. We didn't have any other place to go, so I called the front desk to ask if they really were going to lock us out of our room (despite having paid and no refund offered). I told them I was afraid of retaliation. They told me THE OWNERS were afraid I was going to commit violence and had called the police! We left the room (tidy) and I went down to talk with police. I reiterate that I was calm and not at all bitchy during any of my exchanges with staff and owners. I never raised my voice, I started the convo with "your hotel is beautiful, my daughter is really enjoying the pool, I'm concerned because..." I was accused of harassing the staff and the owner filed a complaint with the police about me. I was told I was blackmailing them because I said I was going to file a report with the health department (and have). Maria refused to give me my money back for the night so we could go somewhere else, and unbelievably said we could stay (likely because she knew I would file a chargeback). I don't see well driving at night, didn't have $ for another place, and my phone was very low on battery). I felt incredibly unsafe staying, I was afraid they were going to mess with my car, so I parked it right out front under a light, and locked the deadbolt to the room. I stayed up all night worried something horrible was going to happen. We checked out right at noon and observed staff (and the owner's family employee) not wearing their masks up. I also observed the father completely without a mask as I was checking out. We left without further incident. I learned while speaking with the police out front (Maria came out, with a mask on, finally) that the family gathering was for a brother who passed, and felt badly about approaching them under traumatic circumstances, which I had no idea about. I apologized. I would not recommend staying at this hotel as they are belligerent, unaccommodating, and most importantly, not COVID compliant. I feel sorry for the staff who are subjected to the owners lack of leadership, as they are likely to contract the virus due to the owners' non-compliance.
