Lovely hotel in a lovely place. Very be well looked after, rooms cleaned, towels, tea and biscuits renewed each day. Went on coach holiday all over Japan, back here after every trip. Well worth the money, would certainly go back. Cherry blossom season definitely the best time to go. Mount Fuji a sight in itself especially with cherry blossom and pagodas around - a sight you'd never see here.

Perfect Location

The location is perfect. There are subway stops nearby as well. This hotel was about 5-10 minutes walk to the shops/ restaurants of Shinjuku. Having said that there are also a number of restaurants within a couple of hundred meters ( including those in the basement). We enjoyed strolling down to the craziness of Shinjuku main, but it is still super close to great sites such at the Tokyo metropolitan goverment building. We stayed, for 3 nights and found it more than good. We booked a double room and had space for both our suitcases to be open. While the bathroom is small, the water pressure was good and the toiletries were of good quality.

Cozy room with awesome bathroom!

Reviewed By jaimegut23

This was our first time in Tokyo and although we usually stay in airbnb's when we travel, we decided to go with a hotel for this trip and couldn't have been happier with this place. It is very well centralized, only about a mile from the main (10-15 min walk) hub of Shinjuku station. There is also a train stop for some stops about half a block away from the hotel. The walk from the main station was a bit confusing the first time but with google maps and a taking a trip or two we were able to quickly find our bearings and navigate the walk easily. The walk to the hotel is also a good way to soak in a slice of busy downtown Tokyo, with food, bright lights, and people everywhere. The hotel is a bit set back from the action, which was nice for us with two kids and offered a bit of respite from the business. The hotel staff was very kind and helpful and spoke English, which was great since we don't speak Japanese. The lobby was clean and spacious. The room had two full sized beds, a small couch with a TV. Fair warning, the room was tight but cozy. There wasn't much extra space. It was compact but we never felt crammed. The highlight of the room, for me, was the bathroom. The heated toilet seats with badet! The bathroom took up about half of the square footage of the whole room. Excessive? Maybe. But worth the experience. The shower is not a traditional American shower but is a small room with a mesh matted floor and a shower head. There was no tub. It was new for us. Right outside of the hotel, there was chain ramen shop, a 7/11 (huge and amazing in Tokyo), coffee shops, a small shopping center, and other restaurants. A farther walk (~10 minutes), in the direction of the train station, puts you in the middle of it. Here you'll find "Memory Lane" with it's delicious Yakitori and cool atmosphere. All in all, the location was ideal, the room was clean and comfortable, and it was well priced. If I'm lucky enough to be back in Tokyo, I would definitely stay here again.

Small but comfortable

Reviewed By mgh1965

Booked a single room which was small by western standards but it was very comfortable & had everything that i needed, even including a little kettle to have a cup of tea in the morning. (you get your tea bags from reception for free) I did have a problem when i became ill , and needed a doctor. What a hassle. The night staff had no idea what to do. They ended up ringing me an ambulance, and after attending hospital i had to return home & cut my holiday short after only 2 days. It took the reception staff about 90 minutes to work out what to do. I can not believe that in today's world,in a big city like Tokyo, that you don't have a doctor service on call. Maybe something to look into.

Good value and convenient location

Reviewed By Chloe_CL02

The hotel is relatively new. I like that it comes with a Japanese style buffet breakfast but the last entry is at 9.30 am, a little earlier than the usual 10 am. If you are already in there before 9.30 am, you can continue to eat. The room is on the smaller side but enough for one person. And I like the bathroom, which is a good size. There is a small bathtub, good separate shower and of course the Japanese style toilet with music and all. All the basic amenities are provided; kettle, tea/coffee, there is also a trouser presser? But I prefer a proper iron so I requested one from the reception. The location is also convenient, not too far from the subway and is also on the quieter side. There is no gym at the hotel, but you want to be out and about when you are in Tokyo. The check- out is also easy with a kiosk, which you just have to insert your key card. I would return and stay there again for sure.

Perfectly adequate hotel

Reviewed By drc225

About a 20 minute walk from Shinjuku station and just down the road from another subway stop (can’t recall which one), we had three rooms for two nights at a rate of around £110 per room per night. Nothing wrong with the hotel. Small rooms but that is standard for Tokyo as I understand it. It’s basically a business hotel (and I have previously stayed in the brand on business) and designed to be ‘long stay’. They pack a lot into a small space and room had a (clothes) washing machine (and you are given detergent upon check-in), microwave, kettle and fridge. Comfortable bed, working wifi, decent shower, etc. There was a coffee machine in the lobby which provided drinkable coffee. Breakfast was included in our rate and fairly basic but staff kept everything topped up and, if it was empty, were happy to top up things upon request. There were a few western options including scrambled egg and bread. I’m not sure why this hotel has had so many negative reviews. We found the staff friendly and had reasonable English, were happy with the location and the facilities in the area (there is a MacDonalds next door, a convenience store across the road and several local restaurants within a couple of minutes walk! When we researched it, it seemed reasonable value and we were happy.

Thoughtful hospitality at its best!

Reviewed By AdrienandHK

I stayed at the Kimpton in Shinjuku on ma last night in Japan, before relocating to Europe; I wanted to make my last day special, and was not disappointed. I mentioned I was leaving when asked about the purpose of my stay while checking in, and I guess they informed the entire staff, who in turn made sure my last hours in Tokyo were special: everyone was so thoughtful and kind, bidding me farewell. Breakfast was amazing, too :)
