photos of the rooms are very misleading. Sure, if you are lucky enough to have a high floor room you might have a decent view but if you unlucky checking in late you will receive one of the rooms at the 1st floor where you will hardly see anything, especially considering the fact that the windows were really filthy. Bucked of ice $5, one coffee $5. This is a ryokan and we actually live in Japan so we are experts and my wife is Japanese but this is a really old and not a clean place. almost $400 a night. Forget it. Bedding (futons were wet for humidity and old) Breakfast does not even have coffee, as I said we had to pay extra. The only good thing was the included dinner. Delicious. By the way, our room did not even have phone signal. We wanted to make a reservation for dinner to a local restaurant and we ask the front desk how to call from the room phone....you cannot.

D0gashima area on the west coast of the Izu boasts superb view and beautiful sunsets. Despite the distance of only about 3 hours from Tokyo, is a Japanese resort rich natural and human kindness coexist. Dogashima New Ginsui has the largest facilities and natural hot spring this area. In addition, our motto is just well comfortable service to our customers. We're looking forward to your visit.
Pros: This hotel's view is so incredible. We enjoyed the view from our room and the restaurant and each time took our breath away. The staff were very attentive and even gave small gifts to our children. The Japanese style rooms were lovely and the futon beds on the floor were very comfortable. The onsen was relaxing, well maintained and family friendly. Cons: We were a little disappointed to find all the pools drained during our stay. We were hoping the kids could enjoy the indoor pool but it was empty. Also the beach at the bottom of the hotel had quite a lot of rubbish on it. Plastic and rusted parts all over the rocky beach. It didn't seem safe for children. Maybe a beach best to look at from the hotel, but not visitors up close! We still loved our stay though.

Located @ near by "Toi gold mine"(土肥金山近く),and Lover 's point (恋人岬)@Izu peninsula. Location is quite nice and view from the room also awesome!!!especially just before late in the afternoon!!!.you can see "The best setting sun and ocean view" .

Nishi-Izu is one of my favorite resort areas and have visited there a great number of times in my long life as there are many beautiful spots along the jagged sea coast, good beaches, clean water and fresh seafood. Mt.Fuji across the Suruga Bay presents, weather permitting, astonishingly beautiful sights. Tensodo ( in Japanese “天窓洞”) in Dogashima, a natural window in the cave’s roof provides a fantastic blue sea. It could beat blue cave in Capri, Glotto di Smeraldo in Amalfi and the similar in Malta. And yet most admiring is the sunset views along the coast particularly from Otago Beach, most popular spot for photgraphers. Close to Dogashima several good hotels exist all closely facing the ocean views. Tenyu is one of them and all the 20 guest rooms face the seaside and the islands. It is not a gorgeous but a clean and cozy hotel in many respects, easy approach and parking, efficient and kind services. Bath-rooms both in and out the house are very good, clean and have a good view. Dinner and breakfast are served in own guest room but almost in one lot unlike in case of luxury Ryokan. The meals were not bad but disappointing to those who reasonably expect good and fresh seafood. Sashimi (raw fishes) was terrible. It is a great shame for Izu fishermen. However, one could order special dishes such as “Funamori (sashimi set on a miniature fishing boat), abalone, lobster, etc. but prices are quite exceeding the expectation. Wine and Sake looked rather overcharged, too. No wonder my wife bought a very small plastic cup of soft cream near the wharf and it cost Yen 500. The prices must be set much dearer than even from the expensive Tokyo. This really reduces the attraction of travelers from town a long term. They should learn the situation in the Japan Sea side such as Niigata, Toyama, Fukui, etc. Natural surrounding is super and one could find walking around very enjoyable.

Very good location, 5 mins walk from the beach, from bus stop, from supermarket. The rooms are with ocean view, clean, with comfortable beds. The owners are super friendly, and the breakfast is great! Highly recommended place to stay at! It has a private onsen that can be booked.

It has the Roten Onsen near to the sea line . It is really good for the winter mornings but there is nothing much in Dogajima itself. You can camp there during Spring and Summer. It isn’t too bad for small kids since no big wave at the beach at all. I strongly recommend to drive around there. As you can see the bus time table, one bus per hour from Dogajima to Shimoda.
