At over 2000 years old, Nijmegen has had a pretty full life. Its transition from Roman military camp to modern municipality has not been without growing pains, but today Nijmegen is thriving, largely because of its lively student population and its status as a hub for political activism. Try to visit during the internationally popular Nijmeegse Vierdaagse four-day walking festival and the epic Zomerfeesten summer party. They happen at the same time, because why not?

Hotel Oranjestaete is a hotel in the centre of Nijmegen. We have 10 apartments and 9 studios. All the rooms have their own complete kitchen so you can make your meals in the room. We also supply breakfast. WiFi is free. Bike rental is free.
I went to Nijmegen (from Toronto) to get my daughter set up for a university exchange. I always look for unique hotels, trying to avoid chains or large convention centre facilities. The Hotel Oranjestaete couldn't have been better. Comfortable, spacious, updated, tasteful plus the room (which was actually two rooms -- BR and kitchen/den with fold out couch) made you feel like you were staying local. The building was an old house and it still has a stately charm plus it was around the corner from shopping, groceries, bars and restaurants. Highly recommended.

Hotel Nimma, the place where people come together to eat, work, drink or spend the night. For backpackers, businesspeople, lovebirds or partypeople. A place with a industrial and warm character where you will easily feel comfortable. Where you can be yourself, meet people or just retreat and relax. To kickstart your workweek with a with a healthy breakfast or to kick off the weekend with a local brewed beer. Accessible and for a fair price.
Comfortable hotel with great facilities, free parking and big, nice, clean rooms, just in the outskirts of Nijmegen. It's not at walk distance of anything relevant and views are not amazing, but price is very affordable and very well set against services. Perfect for a short stay using the car in the neighborhood.

MANNA is an all-in-one boutique hotel, trendy bar and top restaurant in the city-center of Nijmegen. Manna is known for its personalized accommodation, facilities and services and provides you with an intimate and luxurious experience.
This hotel is placed in a beautiful fin du siecle mansion near the city centre. The hotel has spacious and well equipped rooms. The staff is friendly. Could do with some refurbishment. Some of the utilities in the room are getting older and might need an upgrade. And the fact that check in needs to be done at their other hotel down the road is not ideal. Still it is one of the best options in town.

Stayed 4 nights with breakfast as part of business trip. Clean, basic but comfortable. Breakfasts are buffet style with plenty of choice. Reception helpful and kind and ordered take away pizza for me one night when I was feeling poorly from a cold. Nice clean rooms and quiet so ideal for business guests. Nearby to lovely walk and promenade at the side of the River Waal. Near to bus routes (200m) and local shops (500m) and restaurants. I ate one night at Tante Koosje which was a wonderful atmosphere and food. Well worth a taxi ride!

Funny little hotel, with funny and nice people on the market place. A bit difficult to find, and with very steep stairs. We had a room on the 3 floor, and the elevator was broken, had some exercise!! Our room was a bit old-fashioned, the bath was small but modern, well we didn't pay to much for it. They have a restaurant, bur we didn't try it, there were several good ones in the nearby buildings. A lot of museums and tourist attractions are in walking distance, and so is the river Waal. Our room did not face the marketplace and was quiet.
