Overpriced and Underwhelming

Reviewed By JacquesK555

In any other location, this would be considered a somewhat basic hotel. Due to it's proximity to certain SV companies, they are charging 3-4x what they should. Nothing is particularly nice about it except for that the furniture is new. The individual space is cramped and the rooms are stacked up next to one another. My room's 'view' consisted of the hotel's utility equipment and the 101 freeway. Even the new sound proof windows couldn't keep out the noise as it was so close. I was uncomfortable and checked out early.

Great location, lousy housekeeping, friendly, but clueless receptionists

Great location, nice rooms. Breakfast menu is very limited and expensive. Housekeeping was lousy (no housekeeping at all one day, trash can not emptied multiple times, coffee and coffee cups not refilled most of the days. Receptionists were friendly, but unable to get anything done. It took 2 receptionists half an hour to print a bill at check-out.

Nice location

Reviewed By RonCentralCA

Located just off hwy 85 and the 101 and within walking distance to downtown Mtn View (Castro St). Standard business-like hotel but not so much the amenities. Some comments: Room was clean and in good condition. Internet service in my room was poor. I was dropped twice in the first 1/4 hour of being connected. Speed test showed only 5MB download speed. Next day only 10 MB. Staff said they called AT&T (their ISP) and had the server reset (I don't think so) so not found to be a reliable location for service, which meant I had to leave extra early in the morning for my Palo Alto office. there is parking out back under the building in an underground garage (not obvious) and there is an elevator which drops to that level as well as within the 3 floors in the hotel. rlatively quiet location and rooms. Cost saving policy of no room service unless you ask for it. the in=room placard said every other day, though in my 3 night stay there was not service. Missing cup for water and only a single dinky soap bar was provided.

Not what I expected

Reviewed By jamiv2017

This was my first trip since the pandemic and I had multiple meetings in Silicon Valley. I chose this hotel because of the ratings but was disappointed to find that the hotel clearly did not match the ratings. The best thing about the hotel is the staff, which seem to be how most people are rating the hotel. The room was dark and unclean. The nightstand was sticky, as was the controller. When taking a shower, the tub filled up with about 3 -4 inches of water and took about 15 minutes to drain. The toiletries provided were minimal. I was glad I brought my own and there was no breakfast. I was told by the staff that they weren't doing breakfast because of COVID restrictions. Well, I had a colleague staying across the street at another hotel and met him there so we could travel together for a meeting and they had a full breakfast bar. It's obvious that they are operating the hotel on a shoestring and trying to squeeze out as much profit as possible while providing the bare minimum to guests. And the beds were terrible, hard and uncomfortable. I would NOT recommend staying here unless staff friendliness is more important to you than cleanliness, amenities and location.

Terrible customer service after the stay

Reviewed By Yumeng T

The stay was ok. The hotel charged me $38 (total $41.88) on the bill called “Room Revenue” , which seemed to be a mistake since I used points and did not have any charge for the room. Now the terrible experience began - I call the hotel. First time, they said they will take a look and call me ASAP. They never did. 4 days later, I called again, they said they did not know what went wrong and will let their manager call back ASAP. They never did. I called for the third time, they tried to convince me it is a hold on credit, which it clearly was not as it was charged and showed as a charge on hotel bill. Then they once again can not explain it and said they will transfer to their manager. Then I waited on the line until they hung up on me. This is a ridiculous experience for me to get back my money being charged for no reasons. It is no longer worth it but why I am paying $41.88 total for no reasons? BTW I am a platinum member at Marriott yet getting this type of treatment.
