My wife and daughter stopped overnight at MacDonald Linden Hall. The experience was as usual, outstanding but this time it went to the next level! On the day of checking out our daughter left her cuddly soft toy dog (scooby). This was an oversight and one that caused a great deal of anxiety as it has immense sentimental value, along with the fact that it is quite old. We contacted the hotel via email; I had a response within hours informing me that enquiries would be made with housekeeping. Less than an hour later we received another email informing me they had found “Scooby” We received a phone call follow up to discuss how we could collect. This resulted in the teddy being posted back to us. How can you top that? That is incredible service and such a lovely thing that the staff did for all our family. The person who deserves this accolade is Jess, front of house staff member. What an absolute star she is! She wasted no time locating, contacting and posting “Scooby” back to us. Thanks so much for sorting out “Scooby” and reuniting him with my daughter He arrived home and was waiting for my daughter when she got home from school. We have a very happy girl. It might seem trivial to many but to us it was a huge thing and the actions by Jess went above and beyond. Thank you so very much.

Fully re-furbished 1820's Coaching Inn, originally built by the 3rd Duke of Northumberland providing a Bar, Restaurant, River Room Conservatory and 6 en-suite luxury 5* Guest Bedrooms.
Went for lunch on a nice day and asked to sit outside with some food . We were told no food outside. I said 2 men outside with food. I was told that they were pub execs. However we did sit outside "as special favour" Barman swept up all around us as we ate. Went back for a sandwich some weeks later in an almost empty pub at about 1.15. We were told they didnt have the staff availability for food. I said we only wanted a sandwich. Told no.

The same dinner menu is repeated daily and becomes less attractive if staying longer than three days. Fortunately there are reasonable restaurants in nearby Morpeth, but they defeat the drink/drive advantage of the Dinner, Bed and Breakfast deal.

Bedrooms come in two sizes: standard, which has plenty of space, and deluxe which has a bit more. Extra beds for children can fit in the latter. We also have a bedroom which is dog-friendly. Simple rooms for a relaxing bed-and-breakfast stay
Stayed in a family room No. 5 it was very spacious. The amenities were very good, plenty of towels etc, tea, coffee drinking chocolate. The staff are all very friendly & helpful a special thanks to Eleanor & Andy. Food was of a very high standard, breakfast & evening meal. The surrounding area was great for a nice walk, very good position for exploring Northumberland. Will definitely be going again very soon.

A beautiful country pub with accommodation, set in the picturesque village of Whalton near Morpeth. We are known for our Northumbrian Dishes, Local Beers, and roaring fires. Well-behaved dogs are more than welcome in the bar, and also in the B&B. We are situated near Newcastle airport, and surrounded by many of Northumbria's finest places to visit.
Stayed 3 nights to visit various locations in Newcastle, the Coast, and Northumberland. The location is handy for all 3,quiet country village without the noise and hassle of staying in the City and free off-road parking. Clean, good size room with superb Northumberland Breakfasts, realy set you up for the day. Stayed at the Restaurant for evening meals which were freshly cooked to order and tasted amazing. My wife is Coeliac and requires Gluten Free Dishes which were no problem (the Chef is similarly Gluten intolerant) The staf were all very friendly and helpful, Beth being particularly helpful in looking up on-line information for our following days itinery while we ate our evening mea. Did I say the food was delicious. This was our second stay at the Beresford Arms and we will definitelty go back there again, and again

Northumberland Cottage is a 4-star bed and breakfast set in a small hamlet in the heart of rural Northumberland, offering high quality accommodation. Ideally situated within 2 miles of the main A1 trunk road between the old market town of Morpeth to the south and the medieval town of Alnwick to the north, allowing easy access to all the hidden treasures that Northumberland has to offer. All rooms are en-suite, some with excellent views over open countryside. So whether you travel for business or pleasure, you will find a warm welcome awaits you at Northumberland Cottage.
An excellent B&B in every respect. Immaculately clean and well-provisioned bedrooms and shower rooms; strong enough wi-fi; good choices for breakfast; easy off-road parking; convenient for the A1 main road; very obliging owners. It couldn't be more rural and so is not within easy walking of a town or village, but very convenient by car for Morpeth and places to the north.

The Morpeth Inn (formerly Morpeth Lodge) is a family run guest house centrally situated in the historic market town of Morpeth in the heart of the gateway to Northumberland. Easy access to the picturesque coast and countryside and only 20 mins from the city of Newcastle and the excellent shopping facilities of the Metro Centre. Located in the town centre with secure onsite parking and a short walk to all the bars and restaurants.
You get what you pay for, that's all well and good but I think some TLC is desperately needed. Room was tired and just about passable. It's cheap and central so serves a purpose. Car park at rear, receptionist friendly enough.

This room was better than an average room above a pub. It was so quirky with a corse, copper bath and 4 poster shabby chic. However I can't understand why they'd have the room with a generous size, and squeeze the bathroom into what was more like a cupboard. It felt claustrophobic in there for just using the loo yet alone showering. The bed was nice and comfortable though and the staff were friendly and helpful. I wish we'd had time to eat and drink in the bar itself as the menu looked decent and the tables were, like the rooms, quirky and well designed. I also loved that, in keeping with the Auction House name, everything with a tag on it is for sale. Overall, a nice enough stay, but not worth anywhere near the price.

We stayed for 2 nights at this B&B, driving through the beautiful Northumberland countryside you find this quaint traditional pub at a road junction. It has outside seating as well as restaurant, lounge and bar area and has 2 coal fires . If you are looking for atmosphere this place has lots and very friendly staff. Its worth stopping for a meal if you are passing but if wanting to stay and explore local area like we did its also a good place. they stop serving food about 9pm and so on our first night the pub was quite quiet when we went to bed but 2nd night was a Friday and there was some noise as pub busy when we went to bed. The pub has a varied menu and portions were large, make sure you leave room for dessert as I cannot describe how good they were. The area is lovely, we visited Rothbury, Morpeth and Amble in same day so much. Well worth visiting this cute B&B

We stayed here for a night after a road trip through Scotland. There is a small car park in the hotel courtyard and the option of parking at the front but I think only from 6PM - 8AM. The hotel charges budget prices and includes breakfast. However our experience was that the room (Room 3 I think) and corridors leading to it were dark and with grubby decor. We couldn't get the shower to work with hot water and we couldn't get the wifi to work with either password we were given. On the plus side the bed was really comfortable, the towels were some of the nicest I've used and the location was excellent. Service was good and the breakfast was decent too.
