We traveled over the easter weekend to the Camp Bastian and I would gratitude all who makes our stay so much enjoyable. Your warm welcoming staff, cozy cottages, wonderful food and service. Keep up this spirit. I just can recommend this camp to everyone who is planning to adventure the Mikumi or the Udzungwa Mountains National Park. All best Mario & Mela

Simbamwenni is a fully serviced tented lodge and campsite just outside Morogoro town, near the Uluguru Mountains. Ideally situated as a stopover between Dar es Salaam and Iringa for trips into the Selous, Mikumi, Udzungwa and Ruaha. You can start or continue your bush experience at our spacious river-side lodge, enjoying bird life and green spaces, while only minutes from town. Base yourself here for a bespoke hike into the Uluguru Mountains. We can arrange day trips to Mikumi National Park. Also ideal for business travellers, only 10 minutes from the centre of town, but away from the bustle.
We really enjoyed a day trip to Simbamwenni, it is a beautiful and peaceful place to relax and slow down. The staff were welcoming but discreet, and were happy to let us wander around the grounds. After a busy week meeting people it was lovely to be in a quiet spot and be left alone to recharge.

At Tan-Swiss you get both: Proximity to the connection road and the peace and quiet on a large property for a rest. Here is a little summary: Pros: - great location as the entrance is next to the main road and close to the park. - large property with a short walking trail. - big pool plus kids pool. - Playground for children. - Most staff understands English well. - Run by a friendly Swiss owner for 2 decades. - Good value for money. - Pizza tastes quite good. - Breakfast includes eggs, white bread, the local „donut“, fresh fruit, coffee, sausages, bacon, etc. - Sunbeds with cushions and towels. - Wifi was working throughout the property. Sometimes good. Sometimes not. - Own in-house Safari operator (for flexibility). - Bungalows with fan and A/C. - Verandas in front of each room. - Sounds of nature. - 2-3 km from national park entrance. - TV in the bungalows (room not sure - in case anyone needs it). - Complimentary water and soap in the room. - Large seating area in the restaurant. - Spacious rooms and outside area. - Camping ground for tents (10$/person) incl. fire place and large, shared bathrooms. - 4 guards watching the premises. - Mosquito nets over all beds. We only booked a night but decided to extend. You practically just need to arrange the transportation from Dar es-Salaam or Zanzibar to get here and then organize the rest in the hotel: Safari rides, tours, transportation, etc… In general we are very happy to be here. It’s like an oasis in the bush but still connected to the outside world. A few cons: - Don’t expect teak furniture (termites are hungry!) or fine interior design. The supply for furniture in the surroundings is not the best. You are here to experience safaris or a chill out day at the pool. - There are internet issues throughout the country so consider a place which has ok connection to book your onward moves. Tan-Swiss wifi was working quite well but of course you might have issues streaming in the middle of the day. And it depends on the room you are getting. - The ongoing water pressure problem: Still enough to have a normal shower. Not much to dislike and a perfect hub for an extended stay if you need a couple of days at a pool. Very recommended and happy to have stayed for so long. Thanks for the hospitality and the warm welcoming.

There is always running water, Hot and cold. Electricity is available in all rooms. Rooms have a beautiful view of the mountains. My restaurant provides Greek (Italian and Mediterranean food and of course Tanzanian cuisine too.
Amazing, amazing, amazing service! Dimitra solved so many problems our group had on our trip and entertained us along the way. The rooms are large and beds very comfortable. The garden is a wonderful place to socialize or work. The food is very good- fresh and vegetarian/vegan friendly. We ate there almost every night and had them make packed lunches for us. This was a work trip, but Mama Pierina's made it feel more like a vacation, Would definitely recommend!

Each has an en suite with a bath and a shower.Breakfast is served daily, which can also be taken in the room. The restaurant, Udzungwa, serves dishes ranging from American specialties to classic Swahili fare. A number of restaurants serving a range of local and international cuisine can also be found within 5 minutes’ drive of the property.Guests can relax in the garden with a drink from the bar, or the Nashera’s staff can arrange a tour in the local region. For those seeking adventure, the opportunity to go on a safari is only an hour away.Morogoro Airport is located 5km away.
The minute you walk in you can tell this place needs a little bit of redesing. The mountain view it offers from the garden or from some of the rooms its something to be commended. Unfortunately most things seems to be old and in bad need to be replaced. I love varieties of food they have on their lunch buffet, everyday am glad we could get something that we like. Friendly staffs, a bit slow something but at least you can tell they are trying. Some serious work needs to be done to change this place especially on the lobby and restaurant.

We stayed here for two nights. Hotel is ok, not great. They are very efficient when their guests are to going to safari, breakfast was waiting for us before sunrise. Lunchpack to the safari was quite nice. Dinner portions were quite big and tasty. Best chips mayai that we’ve had for long time.

Mikumi resort is a nice place for overstaying the nights. The rooms and the place are nice, very clean and relaxed. The manager and the staff are very friendly and they welcome you with a lot of energy and a welcome drink! Also you can eat at resort and the food is good, and with a lot of taste. The place of the resort is nearby the park and to the small city. Choose Mikumi Resort and you have a nice stay!

I humble welcome you aboard the Flomi Hotel Limited it is with great pleasure that i take this opportunity to introduce to you this warm and friendly haven in Morogoro city. Flomi Hotel is a new venture based on the concept of East Africa Tourism. It is unique and exclusive Hotel of the world class standard. We are only Hotel located in the city but in a very quiet and serene place
Flomi sits on a low ridge and the views towards the mountains are stunning, so try and get a room on that side if possible. Oddly, there is no rooftop bar or restaurant. The restaurant is on the 1st floor and feels like a school canteen - large, open and plain. There is a balcony but it overlooks an electricity sub-station. I didn't find a bar though perhaps there is one somewhere. My room was good, the AC worked, so did all the lights, the wifi was OK. I didn't try the TV. The bathroom was strange as the door didn't fit so it bashed into the WV when opened. Just poorly planned and built. The Chinese shower had low pressure (4th floor) and never got hot, even after 10 mins. The staff at the desk were sullen. No smiles here! Other staff were pleasant though - baggage person and waitress in the restaurant were friendly. I have stayed here before and was equally unimpressed with the reception staff. Surely the first thing the owner would do is ensure his customers get a friendly welcome?? The food is standard fried and boiled fare. Breakfast was better than usual I would say - I enjoyed the oat porridge, pancakes and spanish omelette. A decent selection. But, as ever, no coffee except Africafé (which is not coffee!). The price was 25% higher than another hotel which I have reviewed, and which I classified with 5 stars not 3. I think they run a lot of workshops here and operate on quantity over quality. No real character to the place. You will sleep well here and you will get a solid dinner and breakfast. But you won't fall in love with the place.

A fantastic lodge. The staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. We had hot water, clean accommodation and excellent food. Beds were comfortable and there were options of hard or soft pillows on the bed. Very spacious in the rooms with both bright and dim lighting options.

Graciously located on the slopes of Udzungwa Mountains National Park is our beautiful lodge. All our guests have been consistent in praise for our hospitality, warm service and delicious foods. The Udzungwa hikes, waterfalls, flora & fauna coupled with wild game make this place a must-visit. Karibu, we will be delighted to see you.
The one that signs this review has been a guest at Udzungwa Falls Lodge for several weeks. Hope you take that into account when reading this. In my views, quality of the hotel is pretty poor. At least for European standards. I use them as a benchmark, not only because It is mainly to what I am used to but also because the price they charge you is what you could pay in Europe for a pretty nice, at least 4-star hotel. While It is true that the environment surrounding the hotel It is pretty nice, the hotel itself lacks of very basic needs in the 21st century. - There is no Internet at all. Even with your local SIM card you will struggle and waste your time just to try to chat through e.g. Whatsapp - There is no televisión. Well to be honest There is a 20inch TV located 4meters away from the bed. Moreover, you could enjoy Up to 5 different channels in Kiswahili. - There is no Gym. Unless a small messy room with no ventilación could be called Gym. Just 2 static bikes (think my Grandma had the same model 15 years ago) and a bunch of weights. - lets talk about food. You will have always a choice of 3main courses. 99% of the choices are made from pork (also know as charcoal) chicken (small and no meat at all) and beef. Soup+main courses+fruits at the very affordable price of 15$. Drinks not included. - Access Road to the hotel I can bet is worse than entrance to hell In another update I Will upload some pics as well as adding some info that i might be missing right now. Apart from what has been already said. People working at the hotel are pretty kind and for sure they try their best.
