Escapade by LVB is located right at the lake. The hostel offers a shared quadriple room, a private double room and a mixed dorm with 8 bunk beds. All rooms have AC, ensuite bathrooms and balconies with a view on the lake. Outdoor swimming pool, lounge, laundry and water sport facilities. Escapade by LVB is 2 minutes walk away from the bus stand with a direct bus to Mount Lavinia in 20 minutes.

They have ladder like steep staircases to get to the bedrooms and carrying a bag of getting up and down at night is quite difficult. Getting to the pool, dinner area takes a roundabout way. Food: Average Service: Poor, staff not trained well, takes a long time to get any service. When bring the in room dinner the server tipped the tray and dropped half the meal on the floor, then came back wiped the floor and left despite repeated request to replace the dish they dropped, was ignored. We finally ended up sharing one dish as it was getting cold. Activities: There are many, but most non functional Swimming pool: good climbing wall: not staffed, non functional Suspension Bridge: non functional Zip line: non functional Boats: too expensive Thotupola is fine for day outings for a group, not a great place for overnight stay.

Activity: bird watching/water sports/fishing. 30 Minutes from Colombo 06(Wellawatte), two kilometers tarmac road from Galle Road, Moratuwa. Cool lush green surroundings, a real oasis from Colombo.
Outstanding place to stay
Reviewed By Jervis_1963We had a great time at this unique and beautiful location. It’s located on a large property with a well maintained garden. From there you can even see the eagles hunting fishes. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They prepared a very good local breakfast and had coconuts to drink and juice from their own mangoes for us. Not to forget the large clean pool. We had a very enjoyable stay and can recommend this place to everyone.

Great for what you pay
Reviewed By LocalPuffDaddyI went with a friend and I think this hotel is great for what you pay for. I paid Rs.3300 for a 12 hour stay which i think is very good value for money. It's good that the hotel isn't lowering the price too much cause then they attract a bad crowd and compromise on safety. I got a deluxe room and for once the hotel room looked actually like how it was advertised. It was quiet and peaceful. There was a problem with my reservation but they quickly solved it and provided me with a room. We had lunch from the hotel and the food was reasonably priced and tasted good. I'd recommend it to anyone who's looking for a affordable stay without compromising their safety.

Reviewed By shehang688I must tell though the place was small it was reasonable and had high standard of a big hotel. the rooms were air conditioned and some had mini fridges. We went on sri lankan food package and all meals were excellent. the area in the rear side of the Hotel had the river, so relaxation was at max.

If you love your wallet/credit card/debit card don’t choose this irresponsible place
Reviewed By 494lakshanrWorst experience in service. Waiters are super rude. And be very careful about your wallet/credit card/bedit card. After I finished having dinner, I gave my debit card for the payment. Waiter took it to the reception. After 10mins I received the SMS of their charge. Then I was waiting for 17mins, I didn’t received my card. So I decided to go and check. I aksed several workers there who are incharge in accepting payments. Everyone said “give us few minutes”. Then I realized something went wrong. I stayed 30 minutes standing infront of the restaurant. Then a waiter just came to me and handover the card, saying “it has gone to a wrong person”. I said to him very politely, this is not ethical to keep someone’s bank cards such a long time. The rude waiter answered me very carelessly “today is a crowded day” even didn’t say sorry. I did a complaint to the reception too. If you love your wallet, don’t try this. This is my first and last time at the hotel for sure.
