Eccentric, romantic Treehouse accommodation on the Kwa- Zulu Natal Midlands Meander. We are a Dinner, Bed & Breakfast establishment Our Unique artistically designed Treehouses will inspire and encourage you to relax, unwind and relive your childhood fantasies. Come and enjoy yourself by either soaking in a Jacuzzi Spa bath, warming yourself by a cosy fire or indulging in a glass of wine whilst watching the sunset over Giants Castle
We really enjoyed staying in bottle while competing at oaksprings Horse Trials. The accommodation is novel and fun, the outside shower and the spa bath we're both a hit. We loved knowing we were coming back to a delicious dinner. Parking close to the unit was really helpful as we had lots of kit to move from the car and back each day. Only downside was the traffic noise. It was quite loud at night.

Midlands Saddle and Trout is ideal for those looking to relax in the countryside, explore the Midlands Meander, arts and crafts or enjoy all the exhilarating activities on offer - ranging from canopy tours to candle dipping, and almost anything imaginable in between.
The chalet was beautiful and comfortable. The rest of the resort was however very disappointing, especially the golf course and the restaurant. No wifi was available in the chalets although there was a smart tv with Netflix etc. The shop has almost nothing, but the wood they did have was wet and extremely expensive. In that cold area, electric blankets might be a good idea.

Waking up, having a coffee on the terrace while inhaling the wonders of nature sets you instantly in recovery mode and you feel how your batteries are being charged. The pictures do not do justice to what is awaiting you here”- Sabine
Stayed in the Lake Cottage on my own. The cottage is in the middle of know-where, so it feels as though you have the entire game reserve to yourself. Visited daily by Rhinos, bucks, zebra to name a few. The staff are incredibly and although I stayed in the self catering, I was able to sample chefs cooking one evening, which I can say was a three course meal done right. Thanks all at ZuluWaters for a fantastic stay and I will be back with family and friends.

Had a delightful weekend with friends staying in the Oakvlei Farm House. It was spotlessly clean on arrival. Beds and pillows were great. Fresh milk from the farm for morning coffee and all the comforts of home in a beautiful rural setting. Highly recommended ?❤️

Peering through one teakwood door at Hartford House, you face an historic world. Opening another, the distant sounds of an ancient people at work lilt across the silent landscape, a country of great space, spectacular mountains and big skies. This place commands a headland between the world of traditional cultures and the splendid style of the 1800s. It is the resolution of all South African safaris. The journey’s exclamation point, a retreat from the hubbub where you make sense of a fast life and its senseless details. This is where we learn to redress ourselves on a first name basis. There are too many luxury hotels these days offering the same: a chocolate on the pillow, canned romance, and cuisine called “haut” because it’s spelled in French. Hartford stands apart for its integrity; its architecture and its views, its sounds, its scents and its colours; its racehorses and its people are all exhilarating surprises, unique to this Zululand, this culture, to Africa. Yes, you come here to be pampered, but at Hartford luxury is the journey, not the destination. The truth is, Hartford just happened. A home, and a grand one at that, which grew into a hotel. A community looks to it as its watering hole, its nexus of entertainment, its fountain of gossip. In so many ways, it’s gained and regained inspiration from the cultures it celebrates. It is life’s exception, a place at the same time comfortable beyond dreams, yet innocent of pretence. Moulded by its people, their vibrancy and their enterprise. And driven by a wish to be remembered.
Lovely place and loved our stay. Dinner is excellent with high quality fine dining experience on a stud farm. Best country hotel we have stayed at in all our travels. Very tranquil and relaxing. Lovely staff and very friendly.

Rearsby Farm is nestled in the beautiful KZN Midlands in Mooi River, and overlooks the majestic Giants Castle mountain, with six beautifully arranged and private cottages, friendly staff, and breathtaking scenery.
We really enjoyed our stay. The breakfasts were amazing and the whole setting on the farm was just really nice - a great break from the city. Would definitely come back if we're in the region again. Thank you!

Surrounded by mountains with exquisite views over the Drakensburg and the Kamberg Valley, the Lodge is an ideal getaway, far from the madding crowd. Only two hours from Durban through the rolling farmlands of the Midlands Meander, you are welcomed to this luxury 4 star lodge with home from home family hospitality. The 7 luxury family suites have all the mod-cons including under floor heating and DSTV. There are also 2 fully equipped self catering units. The bedrooms rooms, the two lounges and the dining room all have fantastic views of the mountains. Wild antelope are often surprised as guests walk up the slopes above the Lodge and often Eland are seen grazing around the Lodge in winter. Birdlife is abundant including the Crested Eagle which Silver Hill has used as its logo. Small to medium weddings and conferences are especially catered for at the lodge. There are many things to do in the area and on the 300ha estate that abuts Highmoor and the uKhahlamba Drakensburg Park. Activities include hiking, fly fishing, boating, volley ball and a 300m golf driving range. For the children, there is a play area that includes a swimming pool, trampoline and a jungle gym.
Lovely well equiped rooms with our own little terrace looking out at the mountains. Very comfortable beds and a large modern bathroom. Very friendly owners with plenty of suggestions on what to do in the area. It was lovely having dinner beside a roaring fire. Meals were delicious. We felt very much at home.

Set on 935 hectares of sprawling farmlands with a stunning backdrop in the idyllic KZN Midlands, Sierra Resort's history dates as far back as 1900, when it was a quaint single story outpost affectionately known as The Grove. It has since established itself as one of the most popular Midlands getaway destinations for families, friends and couples. The magic of Sierra Resort is its wide open spaces, dinner bed and breakfast packages, delicious home-cooking and a host of activities to keep all members of the family actively involved.
My husband and I had been planning a trip to Sierra Farm before Covid-19 changed everything. We finally managed to spend a weekend there recently and had a lovely relaxing stay. The room was clean and cosy and the king sized bed very comfortable with more than enough blankets etc. The food was served on time and was very tasty, and there was more than enough to satisfy my husband’s appetite! I must say, however, that it appears that it is the staff and not the management who are the “soul of Sierra”. From our reservation that handled by the lovely Kwanele (who also showed us to our room and made sure we were happy with the room we had been allocated) to the inimitable Moses (who has been at Sierra for over 40 years), and not forgetting the friendly, helpful staff in the dining room and bar, everyone was so friendly and hospitable. Unfortunately I can’t say the same for the managers, who did not introduce themselves despite the resort being very quiet. It is obvious that the economic climate has had an effect on the resort but it seems that an opportunity is being lost, because this is exactly the type of affordable, family friendly accommodation South Africans are looking for. Some TLC is desperately needed to bring this lovely place back to its former glory. Would I stay here again? Absolutely!!

We are a small quiet guestfarm not too far from the N3 and within reach of Giants Castle and the Midlands Meander. We have self-catering facilities, braai area large garden, childrens play area and various animals. All guests are welcomed to an open friendly atmosphere where we treat you like family members.
The lady was friendly, but place insecure ,cold and too rustic for my liking.Breakfast is not provided in the price quoted and the nearest place to buy is 8km away. I asked if a heater can be provided , as the temperatures were about 4 degrees ,but it was refused.I could not take a shower even as it was freezing cold. I regretted I booked without checking reviews. No internet is available in the room .
