Very friendly welcome and helpful Reception team. Lovely quiet area with nice grounds and lake to walk around. We originally reserved for 4 nights and extended for an additional 6 nights as its very quiet, comfortable, very good value and met our requirements during our property research in the region. We really enjoyed sitting by the lake and feeding the ducks. Unlimited supply of hot water enabling nice cosy baths at the end of a long day. We will be reserving again when we return to France next month.

Gavaudun is a small medieval village, dominated by its 11th century castle with a remarkable dungeon. It is nestled between the valleys of the Lot and the Dordogne rivers and is close to the majestic chateaux of Biron and Bonaguil as well as the bastides of Monflanquin and Monpazier.
My wife and I (and the dogs) had a wonderful vacation experience at Domaine de Gavaudun. Eric and his wife were wonderful hosts/managers and the location was a natural paradise with its woodland and prairie setting. The amenities are modern and offer guests a way to release and relax at the end of the day. The location is also very close to a myriad of wonderful and affordable gastronomic pearls with regard to restaurants. The area is also wonderful for medieval castles, vineyards and ancient cave paintings.

Coming on holiday here for the past 20 years and I had never been to the Monform Restaurant. However I heard a couple of reviews that it was great for a meal. So last night we went for dinner and we were not disappointed. We took the 2 plat menu and I opted for the main and dessert. There were choices of duck, fish or veal. I chose the veal and wow, beautifully cooked to perfection with delicious vegetables to accompany. The dessert did not disappoint, poached pears, summer berries, crumbles speculos and vanilla ice cream with a meringue. All I can say is delish! Will definitely be back when I am next on holiday. Attentive service, very accommodating it’s gets 5* from me!

We enjoyed three wonderful weeks in My Little French House in May. The booking process and communication with Sallie was a breeze. Sallie is very friendly, helpful and quick to respond to emails etc. An added bonus for Aussie visitors is payment is made in AUD, taking out all currency movement risk from deposit paid to final payment. Monflanquin is a very nice village and well positioned to easily visit the villages and areas of the Dordogne (North) and the Lot-et-Garonne (South). A car is definitely required to get the best from your visit and we found the travelling distances very reasonable for many excellent day trips out from Monflanquin. My Little French House is perfectly located within the village, just a few houses off the Place Des Arcades (the main village square). The house is very comfortable and well equipped for home cooking and entertaining on the nights you may not wish to visit one of the village restaurants. It is spread over three floors with 19 steps from the street level entry area (lounge, small table and a good sized and well equipped laundry) up to the main living area (kitchen with round dining table, separate lounge/dining room and a full bathroom. Then a further 19 steps up to the third floor (2 good sized bedrooms with comfortable Queen beds and a second bathroom (bath tub and separate walk in shower). A second toilet is located midway up the stairs between second and third level. We did not find the stairs an issue, and were quite thankful for the great exercise the stairs provided. They provide a balance (hopefully) between all the great food and wine we indulged in and along with nice evening walks around the village and daily walks in other villages on our day trips, we were able to keep the “weight gain” to an acceptable level. That’s not bad for 3 weeks dining on excellent French cuisine. Obviously the 3 levels of the house and number of stairs would not suit people with mobility or balance issues. We are seniors and had no problem with the stairs, but we are quite active and mobile. Fast wi-fi complemented our stay. The village has sufficient restaurants for a three week stay and quality was generally good. Our pick of the restaurants are Le Bistrot du Prince Noir, La Baldoria (an excellent Italian Restaurant) and La Bastide (Creperie and casual dining). The house wines all over SW France were excellent and we really enjoyed the dry, crisp Bergerac Rose. If only we could find some back home in Australia !!!! The village has all the necessary facilities required for a longer stay including a large supermarket (don’t forget to bag, weigh and put the price sticker on your loose fruit and veg or you will be sent back from the check out counter to do so. LOL. This happened on our first visit to the Supermarket and a dear elderly French lady waiting behind us in the checkout queue walked me back and showed me the process. The locals were extremely friendly and helpful. There is an excellent butcher shop and the great local market on Thursday morning with fresh fruit and vegetables, great fresh seafood, an excellent cheese wagon and all the normal stalls you find in a French village market. There is no parking at the house or in the street the house is located in, but there is ample free parking all over the village, just a 2 - 3 minute walk away. We parked most of the time in the village square - so handy to the house. Having 3 weeks in Monflanquin was the longest time we have stayed in the one village in our many visits to France. On this trip, we wanted to immerse ourselves in one village for this period, soak up the culture and atmosphere and engage with our neighbours and the locals. My Little French House and the village of Monflanquin provided this perfectly. Thank you Sallie and thank you Monflanquin. We shall return. Rod and Lyn. Brisbane and Melbourne, Australia.

Beautiful B&B with three guestrooms and swimming pool. Spacious rooms with luxurious bathrooms. Around the house there is a pool, a summer kitchen, a jeu-de-boule track and a giant chess board. On the first floor there is a library/living room for the guests with books, information, a TV set and a fridge. Acces to WIFI in all the rooms. Situated two km south of the medieval village Monflanquin. Spectacular views of the country side and the village.
We loved our four nights at the Chambres d'Hotes Les Bourdeaux just outside the lovely bastide village of Montflanquin in the Lot-et-Garonne.. A beautiful old farmhouse has been carefully renovated by owners, Rob and Jacqueline, to provide 3 guest rooms. The grounds are extensive and peaceful with great views and there is a terrific swimming pool, for the use of the guests. An entirely satisfactory breakfast is provided by one or other of the hosts each morning between 8.00 - 10.00 am and when the weather permits eaten outside in the sun. We found our time there relaxing and restorative. Our large calm room, Sancerre, like one of the other 2 opened onto a ground floor terrace, had an enormous en suite bathroom with shower. A third room was up a short flight of outside steps. There was also an extraordinarily well stocked library and sitting room with television for the exclusive use of guests. Highly recommended.

OPEN ALL YEAR In the region of Perigord amongst the Bastides...LE DOMAINE DU BOSSUinvites you to discover 4 gites entirely modernized in beautiful surroundings (on a domain of 9 hectares), comfortable and welcoming; swimming pool, playground for children, a lake (fishing) and many other activities at the lodge and nearby.Golf 18 Hole Championship only 15min by car...
4 adults and 1 child staying in one of the properties. We loved the playground, visiting the lake to see and feed the fish and the pool. A supermarket is, conveniently, a 5 minute drive away. The area was peaceful and tranquil for evenings spent in, just sitting in the outdoor patio area. We spent some evenings at the local night markets which were brilliant and there is so much to see and do within, a maximum of an hours drive. We especially loved Lougratte Lake and Boron which were both only about 15 minutes away. The property itself was very clean upon arrival, it is very much self catering i.e we had to buy toilet roll (just one roll provided in each bathroom), dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid. We also could have done with some fans for the rooms as it was very hot when we stayed (we were able to borrow some from family nearby who have their own property!). I would highly recommended this as a place to stay for a lovely holiday. The owner was very friendly and checked in on us a few times to check we were ok, she also spoke English very well.

Set on the edge of a medieval village, Elizabeth has two rooms ensuite rooms to let in her home. Having lived in Monflanquin for 23 years she has a great love and knowledge of the area. One double room with ensuite shower room, one twin room with en-suite shower. You can relax and enjoy your breakfast , marvelling at the breath-taking views.
We stayed at 39 Tour de Ville for two lovely nights. A lounge leads through to a double bedroom and a balcony with an amazing view, where Elizabeth served us our delicious breakfast, including freshly picked fruit from her garden. Elizabeth made our stay such a special one. A fantastic B&B with the perfect host.
