Located on the shores of Lake Michigan, Milwaukee is perhaps best known for its famous breweries and the Major League Brewers, but there's more to the city than beer and baseball. Milwaukee is rich in historical and cultural attractions, making it the perfect place for a weekend of exploring. Check out the newly expanded Milwaukee Art Museum or the Mitchell Park Horticultural Society, which hosts an annual show of the same flora and fauna seen in Georgia O'Keefe's paintings. Those interested in the city's history can visit the grand Pabst Mansion, former home of one of the city's famous beer barons, or the Milwaukee Public Museum, to see what life was like in Old Milwaukee. If the kids are along, don't miss the Milwaukee County Zoo or the Betty Brinn Children's Museum. Of course a trip to the "Genuine American City" would not be complete without a tour of the Miller Brewing Company and a Brewers game at Miller Park.

We decided to take the train to Milwaukee for my a birthday getaway. Loved the hotel. It was a little far out from downtown but Ubers were everywhere. Pool was great, hot tub even better. Had a coffee machine in lobby that served several types of coffee. Very clean. Breakfast was very good, lots of options - girls working the breakfast were very efficient and very nice. All the front staff was great. Restaurant wasn't so great. Ordered nachos that were served with burned nacho chips and my reuben sandwich had too much oil on it from the grill. Other than that, really enjoyed the hotel.

Lovely hotel with generous breakfast and evening happy hour. Hotel is connected via skywalks to 3rd Street Market House! Do beware that paying extra for an upper floor may not warrant a view. Our window gave us a view of the adjacent building and let in next to no ambient light. The room was very clean and the beds extremely comfortable.

Our first stay at The Pfister was one we won’t forget! It is a wonderful historic hotel with all the amenities in a great location, convenient for parking and walking all over the city. We were greeted very warmly by Brian upon our arrival and found our room to be quite lovely. We enjoyed awesome views and service at the bar on the 23rd floor in the evening. The piano player in the lobby/main floor bar was a nice touch. The artwork on the walls, the artist in residence, and the architecture make this a very special place. It is grand, yet comfortable. You won’t be disappointed!

The Schuster Mansion is the newest B&B in Milwaukee's Historic Concordia Neighborhood. Converted to luxury apartments in the 20s, owners/innkeepers Rick & Laura Sue take great pride in returning this architectural gem to its original splendor. Situated just 5 minutes from downtown, it's the perfect destination for your private weekend getaway. Our spacious Victorian suites will surround you in luxury and our wonderful homemade breakfasts can be enjoyed at your private in-suite breakfast table.
When I arrived the host Laura thought I was someone coming off the street to look at the house despite me having my luggage with. I explained I was staying and she reluctantly let me in. We sat in the front room after I replied I had had a challenging trip to her question how it went. She had pen and paper and i felt like I was in an interview. Instead of showing me to my room she wanted to know what I wanted for breakfast. I went for my bags and she was alarmed and said she needed to show me around. I interjected that I wanted to lay my things down before she continued. She showed me to the room and waited inside while I put my things down--strange. She asked was I ready to listen to more directions, I decided it was too much work to deny this sargeant. The next day I tried to make friendly overtures and she was as taciturn and unfriendly as before. Breakfast was good and her husband Rick was more friendly. However, when seated at the table and other guests came in she was effusively warm and kind to them and asked how breakfast was but not me. So, I finished my meal and went upstairs to get my bag. I saluted Rick and left not to return again. The house is in a poor, run down part of town and I was afraid to walk to catch the bus a block away. It was a 20 min ride to downtown. However, the residents walking around were more friendly than the host. It was incongruous to see the inn and its well-heeled guests in contrast to the surroundings. I was sad.

A daily hot breakfast buffet is available. Valet parking is available onsite, or there is a self-park garage 1 block west of the hotel.
The rooms and breakfast were awesome! Unfortunately the front desk was in a state of confusion along with the Valet service. A lot of blame going on and simple things like a bell hop service was non existent. We were there for my daughters wedding with several family's and elderly people. To have them bring up their own luggage was shameful. The directions on how to use the elevator was a mess and just about everyone I witnessed had a difficult time using the room key for the elevator. For what I paid and the other 10+ family's that stayed there for our wedding, I expected much more. To stay there for 2 nights was over $500. Never again!

Got kicked out of the lobby bathroom, because apparently it was closed. There was no sign, and the man who did it was probably a supervisor and he treated me like I was a child and was very angry and rude. Room could be better. Stain on bed. Dust in some places. Location is decent, but I would definitely find somewhere else to stay in next time.

Named "One of the Absolute Coolest Hotels in Wisconsin" by Condé Nast Traveler 2021, #6 Top Midwest Hotel by Condé Nast Traveler 2020, and Top 10 Best New Hotel by USA Today 2019. Recognized as Milwaukee's most esteemed hotel with an elite award repertoire, Saint Kate - The Arts Hotel is among the first hotels in the nation to broadly celebrate arts in its many forms - featuring live music and robust arts events. See you at Saint Kate!
I recently stayed at Saint Kate for a work conference. I thought the hotel was delightful...including the décor, live music in the evenings, the hotel art museum, and the convenient location. It's apparent that the hotel was renovated recently; everything seemed fresh and new. The staff were extremely nice and accommodating and there's plenty of coffee (good coffee) every day, all day, in several locations! I was also able to venture out for an easy walk to the Public Market on one day, and the Milwaukee Art Museum on another. I found the city to be very walkable, especially with Saint Kate being so centrally located. I would definitely stay at Saint Kate's again.
