Like most doubletree hotels, we were greeted with the warm delicious cookies. We were here during the long holiday weekend so the hotel was pretty packed. I had a low floor corner room which allowed us to have some sea view (better than none!), but our sea view was partly blocked by another residential building opposite. The room had a bathtub and shower combo which we enjoyed a lot after a long day outside in the heat. we had no noise issues during a peak period so I guess the rooms are pretty well designed for insulating noise. We sure were well rested despite the crowd. Given my Hilton diamond status, we were able to enjoy some simple afternoon tea and drinks at the lobby cafe (sadly no executive lounge was available). The food was unremarkable and pretty similar to the breakfast food ( more on that next). So if you have some status don’t expect the usual high floor views, tea and evening canapés at most Hilton properties. A highlight for us was the international breakfast. The international spread was amazing and there was so much to choose from! It was also so delicious. This makes us want to come back again if we ever return to this historic town.

Picturesquely located in a bend of the meandering Malacca River guests can travel to and from the historic centre in the comfort of a covered boat along the river. The property is strategically located in one of Malacca's most historic districts and yet is just a 15 minutes walk from vibrant Jonker Street and other tourist sites. The 32 storeys towers comprise 306 elegant hotel rooms.
Cleanliness: Very Bad (dirty toilet bowl, seat, basin, mirror, bathroom, and even yellow stain on bedsheet and pillow) Check-in: Very Slow (only 1 receptionist or at most 2 during peak hour, and they have so many rooms, u can imagine how slow it is, 1 room takes 15 mins to complete check-in) Breakfast buffet: Crowded (need to queue very long every morning) Room condition: Aged... Overall, it is a 2/3 star hotel! Does not deserve 4 stars. RM1,200 per night for a suite?? Go for it and good luck.

Centrally located within the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Ibis Melaka is only 10-minute walk from Jonker Street, Red Square and many top historical attractions! The hotel offers 249 rooms with exclusively designed Sweet Bed, a swimming pool, unlimited free high-speed Internet, 3 modern meeting rooms, Web Corner, a Bar, a Restaurant and a Garden Gym. It is ideal for both leisure and business travellers.
The hotel is a little old but decent since hotels near jonker are mostly boutiques. The hotel came with an open carpark designated to hotel guests. The barricade only comes down at 1am. There is a security guard patrolling the carpark. Attached pictures for interest. Went on a sun- Tue. On weekdays there are some company events and parking lots could be crowded in the day but still there were space. The hotel is located in the little India streets hence all around were indian stalls. Pillows were alittle too soft but bed was good. Overall acceptable with advantage of location

We booked the Hatten Premier Suite last week and stayed for 4 days 3 nights. We arrived around 7.30pm in the evening and the room was ready upon check in. After which we went for dinner as it was late and headed back to the room, half way while I was showering my child, my child told me the bottom of his feet hurts, to my horror he stepped onto some sharp white pieces which seems to be broken ceramic in the shower. Tried dialing the reception or operator but there was no one picking up the phone at the other end, it was soooooo hard to reach someone. I had to head down to the reception to look for the manager, no explanations were given only 'im sorry, i will get housekeeping to the room to vacuum the area. Housekeeping came but it was only a few seconds into vacuuming, the vacuum broke down - it was already around 11.10pm. The person said they would return but they did not even after waiting for 25mins. I rang the reception twice during the wait to request a call back and for the manager to come to our room, as the vacuum let out a horrible smell which made the whole room smell like garbage area. As we did not manage to get anyone, I went to down again at around 11.40pm, but guess what? There was not accountability and the previous manager DID NOT ask for any follow up. The previous manager happily went back home, the housekeeping did not come and finish what's suppose, there's no explaination neither service recovery for what has happened. My kids eventually only manage to sleep after another round of screaming at the reception with housekeeping coming up and doing what's supposed - it has already past 12 midnight. Of course, other than the first episode of sharp objects identified in the shower, it was also identified in the carpet in front of the toilet in the master bedroom, the toilet bowl was always leaking water (unable to flush properly after using), the aircon in the room are also making loud noises. The breakfast was so-so, wouldn't recommend, you could get way better breakfast options and less crowd elsewhere. Did i mention that a day after check out, they had the cheek of overcharging my card for another room which we only stayed for 01 night. The person who called sounded so confused and couldn't explain why did they charge that extra night, stating it was a mistake. In the first place, we only stayed for 01 night and paid cash in full upon check-in. The person who checked us in, even stated that they did have our card details and requested for payment, so that's obvious a lie - beware people! I think the only good experience we had was with the porter that assisted us with our stuffs when we arrived and provided us with useful information. All in all, it was a bad experience - you pitch yourself as a 4 star hotel, providing luxurious stay and good experience BUT WHAT IS THIS? Paying a premium price for a premium room which is not upkeep to standard? If not for the location, I wouldn't had stayed here. During our entire stay, there was no follow up, no service recovery, no courtesy calls - i guess the hotel doesn't require repeat business and couldn't care less? If your management couldn't care less about guest experiences, doesn't bother about guest feedbacks - guests like us suffers and wouldn't ever be back!

A MODERN HERITAGE HOTEL - Immerse in Malacca's Living Legacies An atmospheric pre-war building, nestled within the core of Malacca's Jonker Street, is reimagined into an intimate hotel that celebrates the city’s past and present. Timez Modern Heritage Boutique Hotel presents 12 individually-designed rooms and 3 suites, each an ode to Malacca’s vaunted history that spans several centuries.
The location of the hotel is superb! It’s situated right in the heart of jonker walk, so it’s really convenient to get to most of the city’s attractions on foot. Staff were also helpful and the hotel provided free breakfast which had decent options like american breakfast set / fried rice / sandwiches etc. Above all, the hotel is wheelchair friendly. Not many properties are wheelchair friendly in malacca. One thing to note though, it’s a little difficult to get a wheelchair into the bathroom due to the limited space between the bathroom’s sliding door. Still, it was a comfortable and decent stay for my family.

First overseas trip after 2 years of (still on-going) Covid madness and I must say, this hotel is a lovely start. Located in the city center, it’s within walking distance of Jonker street but it’s compound offered a quiet sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The front of the hotel is restored from an old Peranakan residence. The room is spacious and beautifully furnished, with a four post bed, lounge chaise and bathtub. Fair warning though, the bathroom/toilet is cordoned off with folding doors with slats, so it may just be a tad uncomfortable if you’re bunking with platonic friends/parents/anyone who takes a dump, loudly. Otherwise, the room is pretty lovely! Now, the reason why I can’t rate this beautiful hotel with more stars: 1. There’s really nothing much to watch on TV. I know, I’m not supposed to watch TV while traveling, but mindless background noise is still welcomed when applying my skincare and winding down at night. The hotel only offers local channels, which are mainly in Malay and Mandarin, no CNN, BBC, or even CNA, or movies. So manage expectations on in-room entertainment. 2. Given the lack of external entertainment, we turned to self made entertainment to pass the night. Unfortunately, the room walls are quite thin - we could hear the TV from the next room, which made us self conscious that they could hear us. So we turned up our TV volume but still held back on vocally expressing ourselves…freely. Which then led me to think, are the pple in the next room doing the same to drown out their…interaction too?? Anyway, I digress. 3. The topic of in-room entertainment endures in the form of water pipes. For some unknown reason, the water pipes make this really loud lurch/groan when turned on, which sounded startlingly similar to sound effects heard in horror movies. After the initial shock, it became hilariously funny during shower time, so I guess it makes up for the dearth of in-room entertainment. Outside of the room, breakfast is served on the second floor of the Peranakan front building. While offering a small spread, eggs are made on order, there’s a wide selection of fruits/vegetable, and service is friendly and attentive befitting of a boutique hotel of its price range.

We were offered this when Agoda told us the hotel we purchased was booked out fully. We had no other choices as it was too late by then the other choices were booked out. When we arrived, the hotel building looked quite dilapidated and honestly we weren’t looking forward to our stay. The hotel inner furnishings was better though but we had to wait till 430pm to check in as apparently, our room was still being cleaned. Our room was really not spectacular. The room was clean but they had the look and stains of old hotel rooms. Walls had drawings on them, the cushioned chairs were yellow and blemished. The bed though was comfy enough (though they were obviously 2 single beds pushed together) we had a good nights sleep. The walls were paper thin, you can literally hear people in the hallway. Children running up and down screaming. Toiletbowl was old and you had the hold flush long to fully flush. The towels didn’t smell very fresh and had some stains on it. They have a very strong chlorine smell. Definitely will not come back here again and only reason I have 3 instead of 2 was that the manager in the suit was polite and nice and tried to solve our problem when we had to wait for our room
