It is really to bad the weather was rainy, the stay was absolutely lovely! The room was clean and a good size , and it was the perfect location, it was walking distance from many little shops and playgrounds. There was a restaurant on the first floor, it was modern and the food was top notch! No problems at all, we spent the rainy day swimming in the pool witch was also very clean and you had to shower before you got in (I think that is a great rule!). The bottom floor walked out to a beach that has amazing sunsets, and they have provided a small playground over looking the water.

The hotel is dated…and with that comes all its charms. The service is old fashioned and—frankly—world class. These people know how to make a good cocktail. If you want modern, go to Quality Inn and get your coffee from a vending machine. This hotel is not that.

A fantastic location with a price tag you'll love! An incredible view and comfortable rooms at a lower price... Matane’s Pavillon sur Mer is in your budget and has all the services you need. It's just 150 metres from Riôtel Matane. N° d'établissement : 295806
I chose Pavillon sur mer because of the fact that you had a small patio where you could hang out and watch the beautiful St-Lawrence river or watch it from inside through the patio door. Here are the pros and cons of this establishment: PROS: *Beautiful views with the patio *Rooms have just been refurbished and everything is spotless inside the room *All the amenities that the Riotel offers next door: restaurant, pools, etc at a lower price than the Riotel. *Strict policies concerning smoking *Service from an impeccable staff CONS: *After a couple of hours there, I understood why there was a strict policy on cigarettes and cannabis. In under 2 hours, there were 2 young men not caring about the policies and openly smoking weed next to my room. *The hotel was full and almost everyone there was respectful of other people except one who did everything to ruin everyone's stay from building a fire with an axe, he was also one of the weed smokers, yelling constantly at his girlfriend, belching loudly non stop and more! I called front desk twice because he was building a fire and then leaving it unattended. When an employee came, he became belligerent and even threatened people by saying he would take revenge on us with his axe!!! He was very aggressive at times and yelling about lots of things. I found the staff to be dutiful about dealing with him but he ruined a part of my peaceful stay. Had it not been for him, the stay would have been perfect from beginning to end. All in all, I would go back tomorrow to his hotel but I would go back during a less busy time of year where you can switch to the main building if you have a crazy guest next doors like I did. I spent most of my time reading on the patio on just looking at the water. It is one of the most beautiful places I have traveled to!

De plus, vous découvrirez une magnifique plage à l’est du port de mer (avec stationnement). Profitez d’un accès direct au sentier en prévoyant votre hébergement au Motel Le Portage pour vos balades en quad ou en motoneige.
Pet friendly. Was able to do an odd check in. Beds were comfortable, plenty of towels. Were able to park 2 vehicles outside of the room door which made it easy to unload the vehicles. No on on the desk at 6am and they had to try and find someone to speak English in order for me to check out.

Would give 0 stars if I could. I do not normally write reviews but would like to spare other families from our bad experience. Very outdated and depressing motel. 200$ for a small room with king size bed. I understand the 15$ extra charge for our dog as most places charge this, however, this place is a horrible choice. Located in an industrial area of Matane, it is very noisy with many large trucks and motorcycles passing by. The rooms are very outdated and depressing, even the king room was very small. It is by the ocean but railroad track in between the hotel and beach, so quite a walk if you do want to go down to the beach. Also, there were many smokers smoking right outside the rooms so we could smell the cigarette smoke from inside our room. Not fun with a newborn baby. We complained at the front desk the next morning, they did not seem to care. The included breakfast and coffee is a joke. Cheap store bought muffins. There are so many other choices for a better price, don't go waste your money!!

This is a good hotel to stay at on the way to Gaspe. It is clean with comfortable beds. We liked being able to park near our room door with access directly to the room. The staff were polite and freely spoke English to make us feel welcome. A hot breast could be ordered and was prepared as a take out to eat in your room. This was a welcome precaution during the pandemic. A real bonus is the restaurant attached to the hotel had good food and drink selection.

I was there in high season and paid $154 with tax for a single room. All the hotel that night in August seemed to be busy. The owner may have taken advantage of it. The room was clean but not very modern. The owner give out to his guess one soap and a package of shampoo that it is virtually impossible to open in the shower. If they want to charge Montreal prices, they should at least give better then a 10 cent soap and a 5 cent shampoo package. The room was a two bed room. If we would be 2 in there, it would have been a struggle to share the cheap soap and shampoo.
