Great setting, fantastic heating, clean, modern. Super comfortable beds, quiet setting, close to town centre, Covid no contact check in was easy but as a result we missed out on knowledge of extras we could have enjoyed while there. Only downsides were extra small sink, which was odd with no dishwasher. For those who do makeup bathroom light could do with a few extra candles. Would highly recommend this establishment.

We had a lovely couple of nights staying with our motorhome on a powered site. It was a clean and tidy park with nice powered sites in a great location. It was nly a short walk into Martinborough. Nice and friendly staff. We will definitely go back and stay again

Martinborough is a quirky little village with a majestic square at its heart. The Martinborough Hotel takes pride of place at the entrance to the square. Once a way station for prosperous travellers to and from the South Wairarapa's huge isolated sheep stations, its grand facade has been a focal point for the town from the early days. Martinborough has made a name for itself as a centre of excellence for cuisine and wine. Visitors and locals alike find the romance of Martinborough endearing as well as invigorating. The hotels past, and it's sense of history and place will charm you as soon as you arrive in the lobby - from the battered suitcases of a gentleman traveller in reception, to the sloping floors and historical sketches of Wairarapa personalities adorning the walls. Today The Martinborough Hotel offers character, comfort and old style personal attention. As for the little town with the big name which attracts thousands to its fairs, wine and food festival and vibrant restaurant and café scene, Martinborough remains as quirky as ever.
We stayed in the Devon room at the Petit Hotel on Friday and Saturday night and found it unacceptably noisy. Noise from pubs and the main street - loud enough to feel as if there was an open window. Ear plugs given so obviously a known issue, however these did not help and had to wait until "closing time" rung loud at the bar before we could sleep. We would not stay here again.

Quality boutique accommodation with a 4.5 star rating. Wonderful location being only 50 metres from The Town Square, 100 metres from cafes, restaurants and bars. Villas and Spa Bath Suites with quality furnishings and fittings. King beds throughout. Smart TVs, and FREE WIFI.
Great location and excellent communication but unfortunately not great wheelchair accessibility (had to go round the back and across gravel to get to ramp for access). Had some nice features but we thought it was a bit of a stretch to call it luxury accommodation (compared to anywhere else in NZ we have stayed).

My wife and I had a great weekend with our lovely host Rachael to celebrate our 49th wedding anniversary. Initially we expected to share the experience with several other couples, but due to cancellations and Covid we ended up being the only couple and so had Rachael as our personal guide and chef for the weekend. To be honest, if we had just booked the lodge as accommodation, I think we would have been disappointed for the price. Although the themed room was nicely decorated, it is just an average bungalow that has been renovated to a not particularly high standard. The bathroom was tiny and the rainwater shower not very convenient. However, having Rachel as our host, guide and chef made the weekend special. We loved the three winery tastings, the platter lunch under a spreading walnut tree, her introduction to olive oil tasting and the pasta making class. She cooked a beautiful 4-course dinner on the Saturday night. Rachael picked up on our love of French food and rewarded us with confit de Canard for the main course. The breakfasts were simple but really nice and Rachael was a mine of information for a foodie like me and only too willing to share her expertise which I really appreciated and nothing was ever too much trouble. So, overall we had a very special weekend.

We took our extended family to Parehua for a special birthday. Everything was great, from the warm welcome to the sad farewell. Very comfortable accommodation (we had 3 separate villas) with interesting art and knick knacks, superb beds and comfortable seating. Excellent and attentive service in the restaurant. The beautiful clear nights meant we had crystal clear views of the milky way and stars.

We spent a long weekend here. The beds were nice but we were surprised at how subpar a lot of things were. The couches and chairs in the lounge were really dirty, the washing machine was really dirty and the dryer's timer didn't work, the baby cot they provided was definitely not safe for our six month old baby to sleep in (slightest movement would make it collapse), and there is a hole in the kitchen ceiling with a bucket under it (which was not a toddler friendly solution). We also found a lot of mouse droppings and other dirt under the cushions on the sofa bed. When we arrived there there were dirty dishes in the dishwasher and the lint filter on the dryer was dangerously full. We definitely wouldn't stay here again, especially for the amount of money that is charged.

We had a lovely stay in the Budget Garden View Villa, so clean and had everything we needed. Our stay included a continental breakfast daily (which was so good) and a free wine tasting. Everyday our room was cleaned and fresh towels put in the ensuite. Beautiful visit.

Aylstone Boutique Retreat in Martinborough, just 1 hour from Wellington, offers six boutique rooms with lovely views, classic furnishings and ensuite bathrooms. Aylstone is set among world class Martinborough vineyards offering peace and tranquility.
We stayed here for a couple of nights at the end of January. The location is so quiet and the room was lovely and opened onto a patio with table and chairs & then a beautiful garden with more seating. It was backed by a vineyard. Meals are not provided, but each day you a given a fresh loaf and have a toaster, butter, spreads along with proper coffee etc to make your own lovely breakfast. We sat out on the patio to enjoy our breakfast, it was a great start to the day. Fabulous property
