Set in manicured gardens with a verandah overlooking the Rhodes Dam and the typical Nyanga mountain scenery, with sweeping panoramas of the Nyanga National Park, the resort is the only hotel located in the Nyanga National Park. The Hotel is set in the heart of the National Park, the finest trout fishing locations in Zimbabwe.Cecil John Rhodes built the original cottage in 1896 and used it as his retreat and described it as a country of mountains and cliff walls, of water falls and solitudes and immensities, at a height of seven thousand feet above the sea, Mr Rhodes built himself a retreat; and this was always his solitude where he preferred to think out his great schemes” R N Hall F R G S 1905. His cottage was turned into a hotel in 1933.
This is a very good option in Nyanga. A rustique nice atmosphere with old furnitures and historical wibe. Really like it!! A bit of maintainence here there is needed, but its clean, charming, nice staff. Only thing i can say is a drawback is the food. A bit more passion and creativity on the food. Breakfast, lunch and dinner could absolutt be better. Otherwice, very pleasant stay! Recomending!

Stayed for 3 nights at the hotel. The food was exceptional the service from the waiters was professional . Everyone was respectful and did their job whole heartedly. The hotel rooms needs a bit of renovating but the restaurant and front area is top notch . Hot water throughout and electric blankets for every bed . Thanks a lot. Will come back again soon

The tourism hotspots in Manicaland are Nyanga and Vumba and Musangano is in neither of the two towns. That it stands as one of the top destinations shows just what a gem it is. The place is well maintained and surrounded by pristine forest. So thick are the bushes that each chalet feels like its faraway from everything. its like having civilisation in the middle of a wilderness. The place also has well paved footpaths that meander through the wooded hills on the property. Its a dream destination for jogging . We particularly enjoyed the rooms with their fireplaces. As we stayed there on a particularly freezing and misty weekend this was truly welcome. We also have nothing but praises for the staff who were friendly and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. If you are tired and want a break in a quiet, peaceful and secluded paradise highly recommend Musangano.

The hotel is situated in the heart of the most picturesque city in Zimbabwe, Mutare. It is the ideal place for holiday and business visitors wishing to explore the misty Vumba and Nyanga Mountains in plush luxery. The hotel offers access to a wide range of attractions and beautifully decorated facilities, providing guests with comfort and convenience.
Check in was swift. Very careful to ensure Covid safety measures in place. The staff very friendly and alert. John the waiter was awesome. Paul the Housekeeping Executive was on point. Listened to my concerns and executed so well...thank you. The food was ok.. only concern was the beef and the bacon which was somewhat cold. Otherwise a comfortable stay.

The White Horse has always been a beautiful place to stay but had got a bit tired in recent years, however, there has clearly been some new energy and investment put in. Our rooms had been recently refurbished - new paint, tiles, with comfortable beds and linen. Everything was immaculate. Staff were courteous and helpful and food in the dining room was execllent. So far the refurbishment has been sympathetic and the White Horse retains the best of its old school charm. The gardens are stunning and we had beautiful walks along the stream and surrounding hills.

Gordon's on 125 First Street is a boutique bed and breakfast in the avenues of Mutare city . Created with the intention of providing a welcoming and comfortable upmarket environment for business and leisure travellers to the Eastern Highlands , as well as folk travelling to and from Mozambique . In close proximity to the CBD of Mutare - with restaurants and clubs nearby .
Gordon's remains a favourite place for us to visit. Everyone at the bnb is helpful and they look after the guests so well. Breakfast is freshly cooked and the fluffy omelette is my favourite. The guest lounge is a new edition set in the now mature gardens and is great to sit and relax in. So pleased to have been able to come back to this wonderful place.

Offering dormitories and private rooms in the warm, friendly home of the owner, Ann Bruce. Located in the city center in the Avenues neighborhood, just 5 minutes walking from the main drag "Chitepo Street" and the very center of town. Perfect for internationals, including backpackers and volunteers. Breakfast, meals, WiFi internet, kitchen usage available on request for an additional fee.
The resident Alsation is considerably underweight and malnourished. They say you can tell a lot about a person from how they treat their animals. Please feed your dog more, he needs far more food than you are giving him. Ann needs a reminder or two about customer service as well, and how it's generally more agreeable to greet your paying customers before asking them for money. Our toilet was dirty upon arrival, there was a dirty toothbrush left above the shower somehow too. The place is overpriced, dark and dingy. Wouldn't recommend.

We enjoyed 2 nights here. Staff were 100% professional, attentive and lovely. Menu fairly basic/standard offerings of steak and chips, chicken and chips, curry etc but very tasty and great value. Close to the nice things to do eg. Tony coffee shop, Ziva, and botanical gardens etc. Also they offer activities and there's a waterfall in walking distance, so plenty to do on site. (Tiny suggestion for improvement....Reception/lounge area quite dark. If it was my place I would move the giant banner that blocks a lot of light, as does the creeper that now covers all the windows, and open up the wide stairs descending into the garden in front, so the view of the lovely forest is better. I would also plant some more trees on the big lawn area). We would go back, it exceeded our expectations.
