On a "girl-friends" trip to Malinalco we were fortunate to pick Las Palmas. From the very beginning we were greeted and made to feel at home. Our rooms were spacious with very comfortable beds and pillows. I always travel with a small down pillow and this was the first hotel anywhere that I didn't use it. The towels were large and absorbent and we even had a fresh bath size bar of Dove soap...a soap I always use at home. The breakfast we were told was large but we had no idea. Not only "large" but delicious and with several choices of eggs...the rancheros were outstanding so much so that I had them two mornings in a row. This is a perfect hotel to stay when in Malinalco.

Nestling at the foot of the Ascension hill and located on the outskirts of the designated 'Magic Town' of Malinalco, this characteristic Mexican residence is only a ten minute walk from the town's historical centre and sights. Totally remodeled and refurbished, the complex is composed of two barns ('trojes' which are age-old purepecha buildings, Marta and Margarita), two double-height rooms with beautiful views across the gardens (Maria Rosa and Guadalupe), two en-suite bedrooms on the porch of the main house (Teresa and Graciela) and a small two-floor apartment (Nachita). The entire complex has been individually and carefully decorated to the highest standards to ensure a relaxing, restful atmosphere. The spacious gardens contain fruit trees and manicured lawns surround the heated swimming pool. A common area (Don Ramon) has been created for use by guests where visitors can play, watch television, read or simply enjoy the scenery.
On arrival meet and made welcome rooms perfect breakfast all homemade butter jams bread etc area gardens are beautiful with a small heated pool. Nothing was too much from the owners. Need a break then this is it. Jasmine and John

For whom is attractive: for couples, nature lovers, families who enjoy the outdoor life, creating the refuge of the Cosmopolitan who are looking for a relaxed atmosphere with unique and personalized service.
Great place, beautiful and peaceful, in an amazing natural environment. Our host Sergio was very caring and although Monday and Tuesday are "low" in town and occupancy, we enjoyed every minute there. Good and very healthy breakfast and when returning at night bar is "always open" for a cocktail or a glass of wine. Rooms are spacious, very comfortable bedding, no TV -no need-, and standard Wi-Fi if you need to connect. Minutes away from town and the many interesting places to see, eat or drink. Don't miss visiting the archaeological site and the museum. IMPORTANT: This is a pet friendly place and Sergio's pet is definitely lovely and enjoys to share with everybody. My feeling is that this place is better enjoyed without small kids,....

It is a very nice place with luxury cabins; If you want a field or forest experience, something very natural, it is very expensive, in the surroundings there are cabins with a pool (here there is not) at less than half the price, if you want to justify the price for comfort, it is not worth it either. Cabins in the middle of a ranch with private bathroom, light and hot water, in addition to the bathroom it's a toilet disguised as a latrine (do your needs and you have to throw sawdust and always smells ugly). There is no WiFi, only in the reception palapa which turn off at 10 o'clock at night, so if you come to work a bit at night after walking, forget it, the place is sold as a place of detoxification and rest so which you can not put or drink alcoholic beverages, they also warn you to make as little noise as possible, there are massage services also very expensive. For an experience in nature for a fraction of the price there are many better options in the surrounding area. The breakfast included is basically fruit with coffee and tea nothing else. The place It's like those hipster restaurants where they say that everything is organic and they sell it dearly on that pretext, and in the end it tastes the same or worse than in any other place. The experience is a scam ...

Casa Alamillo Boutique Hotel and Spa is nestled in the hills of beautiful Malinalco, Mexico. As soon as you enter this magical town you will be captivated by its diversity in plants, cobbled streets, neighborhood chapels, rocky mountains, ancient pyramid and colorful markets. Our quaint property is surrounded by towering rocks and lush gardens with four privately located suites, each with beautiful views, allowing the desired peace and relaxation. The lush grounds provides a small cafe, pool, Ayurvedic day spa, meditation gardens, library, and mountain top organic veggie garden. Perfect for a weekend get away, spa retreats, hosting a family gathering, weddings or business meetings.
The beauty and peace of the garden, majestic mountainside and soft, warm pool melts all stress. Then the care of the staff makes you want to become a better person! Marthe caring for you with her genial and lively conversation and suggestions, kindhearted Jose bringing out a plate of starfruit after someone notices them growing in the garden, Oscar mysteriously showing up at the gate the second you arrive with an umbrella. And many more ways we were treated to such care. My husband and I hope the very best always for Casa Alamillo and hope to return often.

In Progress Avenue, in the district of San Juan, is the soul of Hotel "Marmil classic, economical, with modern touches, his style is especially rich in feeling, cozy and warm. The unique combination of open spaces, small courtyards brimming with natural light, and diffused its spacious and comfortable interiors invite you to enjoy its unique architecture and beautiful landscapes that surround it. The soul of the hotel is in every place, talking, whispering, inviting sense enjoyment, discovery, surprise. It is the hotel you choose because it is on the main avenue, we are in an area of the safest in Malinalco a few blocks from downtown.
When we got to check in, the staff at the window wasn't wearing a face mask and when I asked him about it he said that because he was inside and I was outside he didn't need it but the staff outside "the office" was wearing it and as I turned around I could see another member of staff who was showing a room to another guest wasn't wearing her face mask. The hotel is conveniently at walking distance from the town centre. It has a pleasant looking entrance and our good space double room gave us an ok first impression But when inside our room, I could see many crushed-dead insects on walls, ceiling and floor that stay there for my three days stay showing nobody cleans these areas. Pillows were quite stained and dirty, the clean pillow cases couldn't disguise this. I had to put a t-shirt on my pillow before sleeping on it. The toilet/shower room was in need of refurbishment, The layout of the shower and the short shower curtain kept big puddles of water during all night and day. The toilet door didn't close properly as it was swollen by the dampness of the shower. There wasn't enough hot water in the shower. You could start having a hot shower and ran out of this in the middle of your shower having to shower with cold water. Other times only one person could have a hot shower and the rest of the family had to have tempered or cold water shower. People get drunk and party at night time, you can hear them shouting and early morning you can hear the warning messages of the vehicles reversing leaving the car park of the hotel. There are a few delivery vehicles that park in the hotel's car park. Not all the tv channels were working as the aerial was poorly installed.

Casa Pixan provides a unique experience where the most important thing is the comfort and happiness of our guests. Located in the center of Malinalco, we offer a space for relaxation in a family environment. At the same time, we are a HOTEL WITH CAUSE that was born to support Kalimori, a community for people with intellectual disabilities that seeks to enhance the skills of its residents in order to promote their independence.
Room was very, the nice bed comfortable and clean and quiet with a beautiful bathroom.Just a nice fresh place to stay and relax.Breakfast is basic but good, room service and meals are very limited but served very nicely. Location in down hill from the town could be intimidating if arriving by foot at night as it is nestled amongst corn fields and there isn't street lights.

Beautiful Boutique hotel with excellent service.
I took my family (wife and two small kids) to Malinalco over the weekend and we stayed in this small hotel. What a pleasant surprise! The husband and wife owners are overseeing all the details, from the delicious lemon-scented soaps made in-house by the husband, to lavish attentions by the wife, being so nice so as to find some coloring pencils for my daughter. The hotel itself is located near the center of town, about a 10-minute walk from the main plaza, but at the end of a quiet a nice street and with the soothing sound of a creek behind the hotel. We got there on a Saturday morning, parked our car inside the hotel and spent the whole day walking and discovering Malinalco. In the afternoon, upon returning, we spent time in the terrace with the wonderful view of the cliffs in front, in a very well-kept garden, just resting, imbuing some of the peace and tranquility and, in my kids' case, drawing. The rooms are simple, yet very tastefully decorated with local furniture and details; stone, wood, etc. They are absolutely clean and this applies also to all of the areas of the hotel. Sleeping in the delicious bed literally was only topped by having a nice, warm relaxing shower in the room, with the in-house citron soaps (we had to buy some from the owners to take home!). We had breakfast, a very nice a filling one, in the central part of the hotel, again with the wonderful view, before visiting again the town and heading back to Mexico City. The overall feel is more like friends having you over, instead of a large, impersonal hotel, but with all the attention to detail you would expect in a luxury stay. I can't say enough good words about the hotel and the owners, we immediately started planning another weekend stay, as it is only less that 2 hrs away (a very nice drive, by the way) from Mexico City.
