Beautifully located on the Gulf of Mexico, Longboat Key's top luxury beach resort features modern architectural touches along with stylish accommodations and distinctive dining experiences that reflect the relaxed ambiance of Florida's West Coast.
Loved staying here at this hotel for my birthday weekend/Memorial Day weekend. We booked a premium ocean view room at the newer Opal building (built in 2017). The ocean view room has a view to the pool and the beach. If you want a full-blown oceanfront, you need to get a Ocean front room. Next door was construction but I didn't hear any noises. The service was wonderful. Dan the Concierge was amazing. He was so helpful. He even helped my husband plan a birthday surprise for me and he had a scented candle from the hotel as a gift for me. The service was great at breakfast and dinner. The pool was very nice with games for kids. There is a direct access to the beach. 2 beach chair are included in your hotel stay and you can rent an umbrella for $20.

The Turtle Crawl Inn Resort is the place to enjoy the sound of rolling waves and some of the most spectacular sunsets on Longboat Key.With a wide variety of unit styles and floor plans to choose from, no longer does direct Gulf front mean sacrificing your entire vacation budget.
We rented unit 503 that was beautifully furnished in a sophisticated, contemporary decor and fully equipped with even more than we needed. Lots of fluffy towels, beach umbrellas, clean and modern appliances, a large walk-in shower, and a beautiful lanai with a high-top table that allowed an unobstructed view of the gulf. We were captivated by the 180 degree beach view, sun up to sunset. The beach was never crowded. We enjoyed the pool and BBQ. We also appreciated the location of this condo with a Publix market within 2 miles and nice restaurants close by. Our host Jim was caring, helpful and always available, both before and during our stay. He really cares about and for his properties in Turtle Crawl and worked hard to exceed our expectations. Can’t wait to return!

My wife and I enjoyed our week at Silver Sands in early February. Being in a beachfront unit rather than one of the many other resorts across Gulf of Mexico Drive from the Gulf was important for us and Silver Sands didn’t disappoint. We had a Gulf of Mexico view and the wide, beautiful beach was only a few steps away along the poolside path. The sunsets were spectacular. Silver Sands is neither new nor luxurious but it is functional and clean. We were in a one-bedroom unit (#234) on the ground floor, looking at the pool and beyond it to the Gulf. This unit, and several others, is a bit quirky in that the front [street-side] door opens into the bedroom. That’s a result of the building’s original incarnation as a motel. When remodeled and enlarged into condos, this unusual floor plan maximized beach views from the living and dining area. We didn’t mind a bit. And the sole issue that we had with this unit, a slow-draining tub/shower, was cheerfully addressed and fixed within half an hour of being reported. The pool is larger than it looks in web site photos and the gas grills nearby were in good condition. Coin-operated community washer dryer arrangement had no wait time. This is an excellent choice for travelers primarily seeking outdoor activities and [relative] economy.

I stayed at the outrigger unit 4 with my newborn baby, husband and mom. We were excited because we thought it would look exactly like the pictures. It turned out to be one of the most disgusting stays I have ever encountered. Below is a list of issues that I reported to RVA management. after we tried having our issues fixed by the cleaning people multiple times, my mom wouldn’t continue to stay with us because her room was still dirty and she was getting bug bites throughout the night in her bed. Floors filthy Food on fridge Dried blood on bed sheets Bedsheets smelled like sour milk Bugs in beds - got attacked throughout the night No wifi Dishes put away dirty Dishwasher had broken soap dispenser Blinds missing from window in all rooms Missing ceiling fan in master- stored in closet * We had to have the cleaning people come out three times because they couldn’t get it clean the first two times. * We had to have an IT person come out to get us Wi-Fi after three days of not having it * Our VA gave us a credit of 20% which was one free night for our troubles. This was the most they would offer * I will dispute this in small claims court because I’m not paying for staying here it was absolutely disgusting even after they tried cleaning it. When they came to clean it they put sheets on the bed that smelled like sour milk and we still had little bugs in our beds * I would never stay at this unit ever again. It looks nothing like the pictures, it’s false advertisement. All during covid!!!

Large Studio, 1 & 2 bedroom apartments all fully furnished with outside patios, all ground level, overlooking lush landscaping and/or our beach, fully equipped kitchens. Private beach furnished with loungers, tables, secluded and unspoiled with fantastic views. Restaurants within walking distance, shopping, theatre, arts, tennis courts, golf, biking all close by. Small dogs allowed. Previously known as Riviera Beach Resort.
The Sandpiper Inn is not for everyone, but it is a wonderful place to stay. Minimialistic and clean. The rooms are well equipped with everything you need, along with a front sun deck, bbq area, wonderful "private" beach and small pool. The innkeepers are attentivel and have free coffee available in the office. There is a washer and dryer on the property. Bring your own beach chairs due to the turtle nesting season. There are excellent restaurants within walking distance. So relaxing and peaceful. Free parking.

Guests enjoy beach resort amenities and beautifully appointed condominium vacation homes. A lush tropical setting directly on the turquoise Gulf of Mexico. Spacious two bedroom, two bath accommodations with great kitchens and porches and patios. Extraordinary white powder sand beach. Huge heated gulf view pool. Championship tennis courts. Natural beauty, serenity and a staff that "goes the extra mile." An island favorite!
I’ve been coming here since I was a kid. Not much has changed, which is why I love it. The staff is helpful and considerate. The beachfront is perfect and the location on the key is so good for walking. The pool is SO big. You are never more than three minutes walk from your room. The grills and outdoor kitchen are great for outdoor dinners. The grounds are always lush and flowering, with tiny lizards running about. The units can vary but all are well kept and offer a full kitchen and living room, master bedroom, second bedroom with twin beds, two full baths and a washer dryer combo. They are not shiny and brand new but are always clean and well cared for. This place has less issues with bugs and pests than other properties I’ve visited in Florida. I do have items on my wish list, so to speak. The towels and sheets could use an upgrade. It would be nice (though perhaps impractical) for condos to come with “basic” cooking amenities like tinfoil, salt and pepper, etc. But these are quibbles in the end. It’s one of the last great bargains left on a truly beautiful beach and I’ll be a loyal visitor for another 30 years.

So, I have to say I was worried when I found a negative review and my SIL suggested this place. My worries were unfounded. This place is sweet, quaint, and worth a return. Not the Hilton, but very “old Florida”. Our unit had beach decor, terra cotta floors, paneled walls painted white, a small kitchenette, and a small bathroom with old 50’s pink and green tile. I wouldn’t change it. You walk out to the swimming pool, a grill, and the beach within steps. The main office has books and movies you can check out. I don’t think housekeeping comes unless you ask. If what I described sounds great, you’ll love this place as much as I do.

We stayed at the Diplomat for 6 days in a studio unit. The unit was very clean. The beach was right out the rear door. We did need to purchase some pillows because the pillows supplied in the unit were very uncomfortable but Walmart had some for $8 each. Unit had 2 beach chairs and an umbrella which was a very nice surprise. The kitchen had everything we needed to make breakfast in the morning. Do bring your own beach towels. Did not use the pool but those that did, looked like they enjoyed it. Would stay there again.
