Overpriced, Many facilities not open

Upon arrival at the Erin Blanc we were very pleased, The reception staff were most accommodating, showing us up to our room etc. we were given a 'free upgrade' to the Family suite. This was however charged to us at the rate of 50 euros per day despite us not agreeing the extra cost. We are still awaiting an email response back regarding this, and claiming a refund from our credit card. Also on day 2 of our arrival (of a 2 week stay) we were told that the kids club was no longer operational, also the room service due to lack of staff (end of season) Had this been known prior to check in we would NOT have booked this hotel. With a small child and local restaurants not open until 7pm room service was a MUST for us as a family. Paying a premium rate, being overcharged and not having been made aware that the facilities we initially booked this hotel for being out of action made our stay very difficult. Our bathroom was very worn, tiles falling off walls, sink smelling awful, I bought a bottle of bleach to pour down. Not acceptable, cleaning staff never washed the floor the entire 2 week stay. It was dirty and there were sticky patches from the previous occupants. DO NOT STAY at this hotel after March if you require the services of a 4 star hotel, this is a 3 star at best.

Excellent hotel

We stayed here during a cycling trip. The hotel was comfortable, centrally located and very cyclist-friendly (including secure bike storage). We booked half-board and the food was really good. The best thing about this hotel though was the customer service. The proprietor couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly. If you like to support independent hotels then definitely give this one a try.

Cheap & Basic

Reviewed By mariuss243

As with all holidays, it’s about cost, quality and convenience. This hotel is good value for basic accommodation located next to the rushing river (Doron de Bozel). There is no tea or coffee facilities in the room or fridge in the room. The parking is really tight. If you are looking at Brides Les Bains as a ski base I’d recommend finding something closer to the slopes in Meribel or Courchevel as it takes up to an hour before you are actually skiing so that’s 1.5 hours out of your day. The Olympic gondola is 800m away. Pre-hire your skis and boots online from Intersport at the Olympic gondola and hire lockers up there to avoid lugging gear around. The town has a small selection of restaurants and bars and a Spar convenience store. We really enjoyed the Creperie next to the Mercure Hotel the food was excellent as was the lovely manager. Try the Raclette it’s superb! If you are going in summer for the spa bath then note that there has been a bacterial problem which has closed the facility for the past year or so which can cause a skin rash. The source water is fine it looks like a problem with the pipes which they are currently replacing with stainless steel.

Spring time in the Alps at this little gem of a place

Came for the Easter weekend, most places in our budget range were fullty booked. So this hostel popped up but I had my reservations being an older couple who have had our fair share of hostels. Anyway...we booked, we liked it and we highly recommend it. Cosy bar / restaurant with nice views, mixture of different types of people. Nice but basic rooms (it's a hostel). Friendly staff with a chilled singer some nights. Good cleaning standards. My only complaint would be the shower. It was basically a shower head and no holder. Great if you like in sat down showers.

Fantastic Holiday - Service, Food and Location

Reviewed By U8282IRjaninel

We have just returned from half term at the hotel as a large group with 7 kids. We had an excellent time and was pleasantly surprised by so many things. The location was superb and it was really ski in and out which was fantastic. Also being next door to Jacks was very handy especially for apres ski. The rooms were basic, however were clean and lots of hot water and were serviced and tided every day. The food was excellent and we were really impressed with everything from breakfast, high tea, and dinner. We had some individuals who needed a bit more tlc with regards to food and the staff were so accommodating. Also one of our group was injured and the staff were superb in looking after them. All of the staff were excellent and unlike the other reviews. Cat (Blue Hair) was excellent and we were really impressed with Katie, Alice and Cat. We will definitely be back!

Comfortable, Clean, Friendly

I have nothing but good things to say about this hotel. Our room was beautifully cleaned every day and was warm. We had control over the room heaters too which was great in the cold weather. The gondola to Meribel is nearby (5 minute walk) and was great for our ski trip. The gondola closed towards the end of our trip but a bus service was promptly put in place instead. The spa nearby was really lovely too. The staff in the hotel were charming, approachable and warm. And we loved the raclette evening! Would absolutely recommend.
