We stayed at Domaine de Chadeyron at the beginning of October, 2019. It was late afternoon when we arrived but Zander heard us driving onto the site and came to meet us with a warm welcome. The terraced site creates a sense of space and the pitches are a good size, level and some have shade. The shower block is modern and clean with plenty of hot water. During high season there’s lots going on but we were travelling out of season and it was quieter. However, bread and croissants were available every morning. Francoise suggested some local walks and kindly lent us maps of the area. On our last day our camper had a flat battery but it was no trouble for Zander to give us a jump start. We spent a relaxing week here with friendly hosts and loved the site. We would recommend a stay here- off the beaten track, but so beautiful. The colour of the evening sky at sunset is something to see.

Visited for a week through Canvas Holidays in mid August 2021 (with wife and 9yo daughter). Stayed in a chalet which was lovely - with a/c and BBQ. Quite probably we were the only British there - never bumped into anyone else as presumably Covid rules too challenging. But felt it was a fabulous campsite which has pretty much nailed the genre. Lovely part of France, loads to do - canoeing was fantastic - local prehistoric cave amazing but the gorgeous villages on the Ardeche river and swimming in said river were the best bit. Add in vineyards, lovely weather, nice food etc and it’s a fabulous part of France. As for the campsite I just felt it got almost everything right. 5 swimming pools, nice bar, quiet after 11, and generally a really nice friendly atmosphere. You can book the activities eg canoeing through a v friendly office on site (nice Belgian gent spoke great English). Personally although it was all in French (for obvious reasons) I found the evening show with the kids on site to be really inspiring - clearly the staff were dedicated and really made an effort to involve all the kids and it was great to watch. Couple of minor niggles - for checkin on a Saturday it was a bit chaotic and could have someone stationed at the entrance to direct the cars and explain the process. And although swimming pools were great it would be good to have more of a shallow end in the main pool as the pools transitioned from a small kids pool to a full scale grown up one. And maybe more choice of draught beer? Food was a bit uninspiring but we ate out mostly or cooked so no problem there. All in all a well run place and created an enjoyable holiday in tricky circumstances- would return.

Enjoy a gluten- and grain-free diet in Ardèche, where the sun shines 2500 hours or more than 300 days a year. We are prepared to cater for almost any grain-free diet, whether paleo, GAPS/SCD, or for instance a ketogenic or Candida protocol of your own design, serving carefully selected and prepared, locally sourced, organic and chemical-free food, and we would love to share our experiences...
On the Rocks is situated in the beautiful Ardeche region and we really enjoyed our walks out through local woodland and to waterfalls. The village of Lagorce feels as if it is straight from another time in history with its unspoiled limestone buildings with vaulted ceilings. The retreat is possibly the most stunning example of this architecture and the views from the dining table can only be matched by the wonderful food upon it. We ate like kings and the food was local, fresh and organic. We also learnt new recipes and gained valuable advice about the local area from our warm and welcoming hosts. I would really recommend this place to anyone seeking a quiet, healthy retreat that takes you far from the trappings of modern life.
