In our hotel you will find 18 apartments, juniorsuites and suites. Some with separate living and sleeping room or two sleeping rooms - all with full hotel service and all the amenities you can expect from a terrific 4-star hotel. The substantial breakfast we serve from 7:30 to 10:00 clock in the restaurant, also for walk in guests. Our motto is levity and relax to which we want to inspire you. We invite you to feel comfortable in our vitalcenter with saunas, steam bath and Rasul and the new, spacious Relax Lodge in Swiss Cottage style. Enjoy the relaxing treatments: massages, beauty cultures and many other offers. At the restaurant we serve typical regional dishes and international cuisine from famous ski resorts. We place great emphasis on local products, flavored with herbs from the hotel garden. Our public restaurant offers 90 seats and is open daily from 11 o'clock am. Visit also the new terrace (as from summer 2019). We are looking forward to your visit.
I visited Oberwiesenthal and stayed at Jens Weissflog‘s Appartment Hotel. As a former ski jumper he themed the hotel in a very special style and furnished it with lots of taste. I knew the surroundings, the beautiful countryside, from my childhood and was charmed again. In summer for hiking and in winter for skiing an ideal place. The rooms are big and comfy, the service is excellent and the menu at the restaurant is a travel around the (ski) world. I highly recommend the hotel.

I grew up in West Germany and this was just like I remember. Very much a B&B - family operated with basic rooms that are immaculately cleaned and efficient. Standard European breakfast included and enjoyed in a family style dining room. On site restaurant offers home cooked German fare. Definitely family friendly but don't expect to be "entertained" - bring books, deck of cards or enjoy games available from the lobby. Internet service is intermittent. This area buttons up pretty much at dark (we were there in winter) so maybe stock your room with a spare bottle of wine! I can speak Dutch and a small amount of German; the staff spoke either Czech, Polish or Russian - no English. Don't worry - go at it with a smile and don't be afraid to make a fool of yourself. We had to deal with a date change to our reservation but we figured it out with the owner and all had a good laugh, too.

The way the management dealt with social distance, service and stay was exemplary, I really felt that the hotel paid particular attention to the well being of the guest requesting him/her to wear the mask etc....

Yes, its seen better days, yes, we have experienced larger rooms, and yes, sometimes in the main season the service is challenged by the hugh amount of people staying there, but it is very well organized, clean, super friendly and perfectly situated next to the slopes. We really enjoyed our one week family vacation and recommend the hotel for families with young kids.

The hotel is well it's alright. It's pretty clean, the restaurant fare is unimaginative dull stuff made with no love and doled out by waiters that barely acknowledge your presence. The rooms are small, and don't bother with the pool, I've seen footbaths that are bigger. It's close to the slopes, it's got a ski cellar, it's warm.... Great service from the front desk but the Maitre D' needs some schooling, accusing me of theft the night after the waiters had failed to give me bill to sign! Not a great experience. Look it's OK, it's forgettable, it's passable, you won't love it, you won't hate it, but would I stay here again? Probably not.

We stayed 4 nights (3 persons) in what I believe was a "Superior Suite" in the main building (room 703) and it was very nice and spacious. Having read the other reviews I was a little afraid of what I was going to find, but although it wasn't very luxurious it was quite comfortable. It has some space for improvement but it is a place where we would stay again (if we get the same room;)). The bathroom was a good size and it had a window so we didn't have to switch on the light and have the loud sound of the fan that switches on together. Not good: the hair dryer in the bathroom is very old, water pressure in the shower very weak, toilet paper of bad quality and towels very small an thin. In the bedroom the mattress was a little bit hard and doesn't have a mattress protector or any type of cover, which is not very hygienic also because the bed sheets are very short and thin (they come out very easily and suddenly you are on the top of the mattress); the pillows were also awful- very thin and irregular. Although things were in good condition the sofa in the bedroom was all stained which was disgusting- the hotel could have it cleaned and it would be much nicer. The daily cleaning could also vacuum clean better the carpet. Breakfast was simple, no pastries just bread, eggs (scrambled eggs were awful), cheese, ham, coffee, tea, the normal things. The coffee wasn't good (maybe the hotel could add a coffee machine that has cappuccinos and all type of coffees :)). I tried their homemade strawberry jam and it was amazing. The staff was all very nice. The evening buffet was good. Another thing that could be improved is the offer of soft drinks, the ones from the machine tasted awful and were of bad quality. This hotel could easily become a lot better and my punctuation is worse not because of the room itself but because of the other things I have pointed out (mainly not having a mattress protector, small bedsheets, pillows and water pressure).

We stayed here during a ski weekend. It is a relatively large but quiet hotel with elevator and wellness area/sauna. There is also a big play room for small kids and a nice bar with live music in the evening. Rooms are clean and spacious, however the fitting carpets might be a problem for allergy suffers. Bathrooms in some rooms are handicapped accessible. Reception staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel has a big parking area unfortunately for extra charge. Ski slopes are not in working distance. The restaurant is a disaster - uncomfortable hall with poor design, poor service, poor selection of foods.

The Hotel Fichtelberghaus is located directly at the top of the 1215 m high Fichtelberg and is situated in Germany's highest city, Oberwiesenthal. The family-run Berghotel not only offers nature lovers and hikers a lot of recreation, but also culinary delights of the kitchen team around Dirk Meinel ensures enjoyment. For wedding parties, banquets and seminars, individual rooms with a unique panorama view are available.
We spend a week here over Christmas, booked on half board. The food is amazing and fro. Great quality. Hotel rooms as such are reasonable and quite cozy. If it would have some snow it's a great place to kick off skiing. The lounge and restaurant area can be quite busy during weekends. Overall it's a great place to be with super crisp air .

Ideal for crosscountry skiing or nearby ski on the German and Czech side / Klinovec,Bozi Dar /. Well built historical hotel above Oberwiesental near Czech border. Rooms are somewhat spartan and german recepetion staff is not very engaging. But it is a ski hotel after all .. Decent restaurant with great service but rather uninspiring menu but good breakfast. Spa needs renovation / update and better AC / ventilation !!
