Reviewed By georgebU4323ZMWhat you expect from an “Airport Resort Hotel”. 1. To sleep. Because you have to take a flight in the moorning or you arrive late in the evening after many hours flying. 2. A Wifi connection to arrange everything online before departure. 3. A shower with hot water to wash yourself. 4. Diferent options to have dinner. 5. English speaking staff. Unfortunately, we had non of these basic things. I’m writting this review while there is a party in the pool next to our room. 20 guest playing the drums, screaming and playing music in a speaker. It’s 1.35 AM and in 3 hours we are going to the airport. Before that, we had to take a tuk tuk (arranged by the hotel owner) to go to town to have some food. They had just few things to offer in the menu at the hotel (nothing we like it). There is nothing around the hotel. Before taking tuk tuk. we tried to order food from uber eats. No wifi connection. No data coonection. Apparently due to powercut suffered at 8pm due to the crisis that the country is facing. Power came again, wifi not working anyway during all night. Also, we had to fullfill an online form to our next destination. Wifi not working. No data connection at all. And after all these things no chance to take a shower. Hot water not working. And also a big spider in the bathroom. The staff is nice, but they don’t speak english at all. The owner is the only person who speaks english but he was just little time during our stay. The staff calls the owner on the phone and you have to talk to him on the phone. In room’s price it’s included free transport to airport. The driver asked for money in the airport. He said: “Hotel told me you paid to me”. We did’nt give him nothing, just a tip. I want to think they tried their best, but not enough. We had a really bad experience, we do not recommend it at all as an airport hotel.

Reviewed By scizzahzWe were returning home and had an early flight so booked this place to be close to the airport. We turned up and the place was shut, padlock on the door. We phoned, no answer. Suddenly the owner turns up and says it's closed because of COVID-19. I said we were told nothing and have booked here tonight. He said he didn't care. We asked if he could at least recommend another hotel and I kid you not he said "no!" and turned away and got in his car. Please do not stay here! Absolute joke!

Dashing to get hom
Reviewed By Barbara MWe used this place when the Curfew had just been imposed on March 21st. It was close to the airport so quite noisy when aircraft were landing and taking off. The owners were very good providing an impromptu evening meal when there was no chance of him buying in food as all the shops were closed and anyway the whole country was in lock down. The room was spotlessly clean had very comfy bed and th shower was also great. Thank you very much.

Reviewed By RushmeKhAirport Eco Cottage is very close to the airport. The cottages are surrounded by beautiful gardens. Its surroundings are quite peaceful. The response of the manager/owner is prompt. They also help to arrange commute to the nearby airport. The room was hygeinic and exactly as promised. The food is very delicious. I found it much advantageous to book this cottage rather than a mainstream crowded hotel, especially during these covid times. It is also reasonably priced and value for money. It is easy to locate using Internet.

Great Place for a Quick Stop
Reviewed By joharasbOur flight was late-night, so we needed to stay in a place very close to the airport. It was slightly hard to get to this hostel, but you can always get the driver to speak to the staff, and they will guide them through. Once you are there, you are greeted by very friendly staff. They take you to the hut, which is clean, with plenty of light & aircon. The bathroom has everything you need for a quick shower as well. It was an excellent deal for the price we paid (around $18, including the airport drop)! We had dinner (chicken kottu) & beer for only Rs 1,500 for two. Great place for a quick stop from/to the airport.

I observe this while I was sitting at front waiting for my friend to pick me up. Saman and his family helps to all customers with whatever they want to get done. Flexible, relatively low budget with an excellent service and close to the International airport will be a great choice whoever want to find a place to stay with safety. We developed a great trust with a couple of stay and would always come back to stay here. I do not hesitate to recommend any traveler to experience the warm, kind and friendly hospitality of Saman, his family and Selahn Inn at 130, Temple Road, Katunayaka, Sri Lanka.

Comically bad!
Reviewed By Mark BThe script writers for Faulty Towers couldn’t come up with a more laughably terrible hotel experience! We arrived at Ared Villa to be greeted by a locked gate and a weathered sign saying “under construction: relocated at White Palace Negombo”. In the end we were shuffled off to a third place called Boots Lodge, an unremarkable pad save for a few things: a thriving population of mosquitos (and no mosquito nets in sight) the fact it’s 2300LKR cheaper than Ared Villa (no refund, of course) about 10km further away from the airport (we had a 5:30am check in the next day) and staffed by friendly but not-so-bright folks (guys, 11:45pm isn’t a good time to knock on the door to see if guests would like to settle their bill). Now I understand, Murphy’s Law applies strongly to hotels, but an email or phone call ahead of time would have solved most of those problems, or at least given us a chance to make an orderly change of plans. Not recommended!

Reviewed By Donna_DuckworthWe stayed here for one night due to it's close proximity to the airport. The staff were very welcoming and helpful and the surrounding area is very pretty. The 2 bed room had a good layout and was very quiet, It's very basic, but we knew that. It served the purpose we needed it for. Food was terrible and there isn't much else around - bring a packed lunch/meal ;)
