Lodge Bellavista is located at the edge of Nyamiteza's crater lake; it is a crater lake among the 25 craters from Fort Portal leading to Kasese. Through Google Earth you can see them clearly. Kasunganyanja village, at 40 km from Fort Portal on the road leading to the Queen Elizabeth National Park, is the point where you should turn to your left. Proceed for less than 2 kilometers and you reach Lodge Bella Vista. The most taking aspect of the lodge is its vicinity to the lake within the crater on one side and the view of the Rwenzori Mountain on the opposite side, all this in a complete green environment. The lodge is along the most important tourist road in Uganda and a stop over to spend a night or for a lunch is quite an opportunity for a tourist moving from the Murchison Falls towards Fort Portal and the National Parks on the south like Kibaale Forest, renowned for its chimpanzees, the Rwenzori National Park and Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Positives: fantastic views, nice pool, rooms ok, fairly good value for money. Negatives: very slow food service, many things missing from food menu, bad food, very limited bar selection, warm beer, owner shouted at us in front of other guests because we had a dog (on leash) despite the staff (receptionist) having allowed the dog at the time of booking as well as in person, owner blasted television at loud volume during breakfast time (?!?)... Overall, place has a lot of potential and is good value for money if you don't expect much when it comes to service standard.

My wife and I had a wonderful time at Kazinga Wilderness Camp. Everything at the facility was awesome. The Beds were comfortable, the cottages were amazing just made out of wood and we loved how it blends with nature. The Major Highlight was the bush breakfast they prepared for us on day 2. It was a romantic one and we thought. We loved it! The meals were tasty and well served and presented. Thanks to Wildfriends Africa Safaris for booking for us a nice lodge for our honeymoon. We highly recommend it.

Dark bedroom with exposed wiring in the bathroom. Restaurant service very very slow. Dangerous uneven steps to the first floor. One of the receptionists was just dumb dumb dumb. Anywhere else must be better!

Rwenzori International Hotel is a splendid budget hotel situated at the foothills of the mountains of the moon in Kasese town western Uganda. We are a 15 minute drive from Queen Elizabeth National Park and a 25 minute drive from Mt. Rwenzori National Park. Please come enjoy the beautiful scenery and comfort of Kasese while you stay with us.
I stayed here for 12 nights and have a number of points which I hope will be helpful. 1. I had a comfortable en-suite room (no 2) in the main building with a 4 poster bed and good mosquito net. It was all very clean. £12 a night includes breakfast. 2. You have the key to your room and I kept it with me at all times. No one entered my room without my permission, not even to clean. 3. There was a lockable cupboard in my room for valuables. 4. The shower was hot but blue tap hot water and red tap cold. 5. WiFi is good but the modem is moved from hotel to conference room when there is a conference on, ask for it back in the evening and the staff will get it. Social media is not available on the WiFi. 6. Music is played the the garden and tv in the bar, but always goes off at 10pm, even at weekends 7. Food is very good but cooked from fresh. If you put an order in they will come and get you when it’s ready. 8. I took my own kettle and they were happy to lend me a mug. 9. Power does sometimes fail but this is Africa! Keep your essentials charged because the generator only powers the lights, not the sockets. 10. Staff were lovely, helpful and friendly. I felt very safe on my own here. The compound had a tourist police guard 24/7. 11. I had 2 very good massages for £5 each!! The massage room is not the height of luxury but the massage good. 12. Neighbourhood is quiet too although it is a short boda boda ride into town, 2000 shillings. Thank you for taking such good care of me, I will hopefully see you all again next year.

we are happy we stayed at the ruboni community camp while our uganda trip. it feels pure being there with all the green surrounding yourself. from the veranda you have a wonderful view over the forest, mountains and the beautiful tropical garden. food was very good, different breakfast options, juices. we had a bungalow with warm blankets. you need them as it gets fresh at night. during the day you have many options for activity. we did the hill hike with lazarus, a great guy from the community. we had good talks, a rough hike and precious memories. webale to all the people from the community working for the camp and being such a peaceful place.

The elephant home is located next to Queen Elizabeth national park. It is situated on Kasese-Mbarara road, 21km from Kasese town. We offer self contained room, a restaurant, crafts shop and village tours. On prior arrangement we also offer wildlife safaris inside the park the lodge is suitable for visitors wanting to do a wildlife safari in this park or visiting the surrounding areas. it is located 5 minutes drive from the park gate where the game drive starts. It is famous for delicious meals, friendly staff, clean and spacious rooms, most accessible and affordable price in the area.
Great welcome. Good food and very friendly and helpful staff. This accommodation is supporting a local community project to improve relationships between communities living beside QE Park and the Park authorities. Amazing project and extremely nice staff! We also had a delicious dinner there.

The Equator Snow Lodge is a sensational destination for the experienced mountaineer or the ordinary traveller. Working in collaboration with the local community, mountaineering activities can be organised from the lodge. The restaurant, lounge and bar areas are designed around the history of the Rwenzori Mountains with displays of significant historical illustrations.
We stayed at the lodge for 2 nights and 4 people Despite some positives (good service- big rooms- wholesome meals)the place already needs refurbishment (especially the commonal area) and is too expensively priced for what it has to give.
