The Isle of Man is simply magical, an enchanted journey back in time that somehow still feels modern. The island is peppered with stone churches, castles, forts and intricately carved Celtic crosses, all in varying states of preservation. A ride on the steam engine Heritage Railway is a wonderful way to take in the splendid countryside. Don’t miss the Victorian-era Laxey Wheela or Curraghs Wildlife Park, a fun way to get up close and personal with some of the island’s most adorable natives.

Lovely hotel. Clean, great location. We were leaving very early to catch our return ferry and they kindly opened the continental breakfast up for us so we could eat before we left. We were only staying for the one evening but Sprintfest music festival was running in the town square, lots of places to eat and drink and right on the beach so a lovely final evening for our trip to the TT races.

Really excellent 4-star hotel with great food and great staff who could not have been more helpful. I had a room at the back which didn't have a view (sea view rooms available if you want to upgrade) but was of a good size for one, a great comfortable bed and a nice bathroom with one of the best hotel showers I have experienced.

I stayed here with my son during practice week for the TT we where greeted by the loveliest lady Margaret on reception a real credit to the hotel. Everyone we met was friendly and had a smile on their face. The bedrooms really need updated as they are very dated but where clean. We did have a lovely sea view which I would recommend booking. I get the impression that they are in the process of updating the hotel as the lobby and corridors had new carpets. The bar was very tasteful decorated too. The swimming pool area has real potential the steam rooms and saunas where locked up, I got the impression that they had broken and never got fixed and you could see at some point there had been a hot tub. Which was a real shame. We only had breakfast at the hotel there was plenty to choose from and the hot buffet was fresh. All the breakfast team where helpful. The team really make this hotel and the building from the outside is beautiful. A complete refurbished would make this hotel perfect.

Currently undergoing an update, The George will feature 11 spacious bedrooms, fine ales & food and a warm welcoming atmosphere for everyone who chooses to visit.
The Hotel is right in the middle of Castletown, very convenient for everything in town. We had a nice warm welcome from the staff on the Sunday afternoon when we checked in, despite them being very busy with the Sunday Roast service. The room was good sized and had a nice ensuite bathroom. There were plenty of USB outlets to charge phones etc. No refrigerator, although we need to keep some stuff cool and the staff kindly stored it in the Kitchen Fridge (and remembered it was there when we checked out!) The food was good. Pub style for the most part. Breakfast was excellent with extra friendly staff on hand. Overall, a very comfortable stay. We would certainly return.
