The staff were perfectly nice and helpful, and that is where the positivity ends. The place itself is quite disgusting and in desperate need of some renovation and a deep clean. There were no less than 6 well established cobwebs in my room (Family room, No. 19) 2 in each corner. The sheets were 'clean' but had various stains on them. The bathroom (complete with HMP blue lino) had a leaking toilet, there was black mould on the ceiling, in each crevice and corner, and ALL around all handles of the bath. The shower head had so much limescale only 3 water spouts were functional. The toilet itself had never seen a splash of Harpic and had (what I pray) was a every growing limescale rim stain. The soap dispenser remained empty throughout my stay, the bins were never emptied. The corridors stank of wet dog and cooked food despite there being no food onsite, there were plenty of dogs staying which I don't mind, but given the poor cleaning standards it's a bit disconcerting. The room itself smelt damp and musty, no doubt due to all the mould. The year is 2022, people have devices, my family room for 4, had one plug. That plug is by the TV on the desk, there are no plugs by the bedside tables. God forbid you need to charge your phones overnight. I expect very little of a Travelodge, on a roundabout on the outskirts of Ilminster, but I do expect it to be clean. This was unacceptably dirty, bordering on revolting. It is also not cheap. Within the same price range there are far more clean and infinitely more charming 3-4 star b&bs in the area.

Situated in the beautiful unspoilt village of Dowlish Wake in the heart of picturesque rural Somerset, the New Inn is a 350 year old stone built pub and is situated just 200 yards from the ever popular Perry's Cider Mill and Museum. We have two separate bar areas both with wood burning stoves, a stunning non smoking Restaurant serving lunches and evening meals and a large secluded beer garden which is perfect for those warm summer evenings.
Very comfortable bed and ideally situated for coast, countryside, stately homes and, if you are into fly-fishing, well placed for a number of West Country lakes. Staff are friendly and helpful and the breakfast will set you up for the day!

Good links to the main road routes, a few minutes from the A303 and near the M5. Taking pride of place in the picturesque village of Broadway near Ilminster in South Somerset, enjoy the warmest of welcomes at The Bell Broadway. A unique experience, sensitively refurbished to preserve the character of the 18th century inn, combined with exceptional contemporary luxuries.
We visited for the quiz on bank holiday Friday evening, we booked a table. Quiz and host were good. However, the waiting staff were terrible and the ‘manager’ couldn’t care less when issues were raised. We waited over an hour for 4 pizzas when we asked for an update we just got told we were busy and and when the pizzas did arrived they didn’t arrive all together and for £15.00 plus for a pizza not good enough. No apology forthcoming from any of the staff including manager. Disappointing and over priced.

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights whilst visiting family in Somerset. The accommodation was very clean and had everything you needed. The hosts were very welcoming but left you alone. They also provided a beautiful breakfast every morning which you order the night before. I thought the whole stay was excellent value for money.

8 independent stable block rooms consisting of 6 doubles and 2 twin rooms. Views from the garden with a pub on site serving a delicious mix of Caribbean and British food. Dog friendly ( supplement of £5.00) with beautiful country walks for our 4 legged friends
We stayed here the night before my brother wedding. We arrived and the place is absolutely stunning- the lambs opersite, dancing and skipping while the sunset was amazing. It really was the scene from a movie. We checked into our rooms and on the face of it the room was spacious, clean and very modern, you couldn’t ask for more. There’s parking outside of the room and guest can usually easily get a reservation at the restaurant. Your thinking now after reading the start of this review. Why is this guy complaining, well let me continue. As you can imagine, it’s the day before the wedding and our family is slightly flustered. But yet again Elaine who was running the restaurant couldn’t have done more to help. She was amazing, I really can’t say thank you enough to this women. She’s was kind and consider and she even printing my brother wedding speech out which was brilliant. So we sat down for dinner and the food was brilliant. The only issue with this place was enduring a cold night sleep before the wedding and then waking up to a cold shower which isn’t what you want the day before your wedding.Persomally I don’t really care about me but I felt so sorry for my poor brother who shouldn’t of had this happen. I do want to finish with by saying the staff at this place are a massive asset and thank you to them all.

Stayed one night en route to visiting family. Really nice and friendly host Chris. The room was very relaxing and clean, bed really comfortable. The breakfast was enormous and cooked to perfection. I felt guilty I couldn't eat it all! Would definitely stay again and can highly recommend.

We emailed here on 19th September to ask if they had any availability. Received answer the same day saying they had a room free on room only basis. I replied asking if we could have it for 4 nights from the 23rd. Did not get anything confirming booking until 21st. We were flying in from Spain and it seems everyone in UK is staycationing, so virtually nowhere has any availability. We arrived, shown room and had meal in dining area. We arranged breakfasts at another pub nearby as George doesn't do breakfasts. We're told if we needed any thing like towels or tea, to put towels or teapot outside door. Reason for UK visit was to try and organise care for hubby's father, so rather stressful. Nothing was said about what to do when we were leaving. We left on Monday morning, there was no one around, we even called back after breakfast to check. Then when we were on way home from airport in Spain on Tuesday afternoon I get a call asking for payment. Not convenient for me at that time. Arrange that they will call next day. Then get an email asking me to call them at 11. They are the ones wanting payment, yet I have to call them !!!!! I called at 11.20 Spanish time, was told Sonia was not available so could I phone back. Again who is it who wants paying???? It wasn't convinent to call back, so they took my details. Later I get another email asking me to check details I had given them. I was not impressed with their total lack of information, we weren't told their opening hours, infact told there's always someone about. Nor at paying £75 a night for a room where you can only occasionally get toilet to flush and there were cobwebs. No linen changes, no bed making. No communication.
