Reviewed By SkioldStayed here one night on a business trip, room was large by Japanese standards and clean. Staff was super-helpful and friendly. Lopcation is 2 minute walk from train station and 5 minute walk from a nice park and the Tsukuba Space Center. My only complaint is that the breakfast is pretty inedible and way overpriced at $10. Walk 1 minute next door to the Starbucks or Mister Donut.

Old rooms, and new rooms partially renovated for the G7 conference, are mixed on the same floor. In addition, smoking and non-smoking rooms are mixed on the same floor, so smell of the smoke in the corridor is unpleasant. Newly renovated room, a junior suite, that we stayed, was very comfortable. The room was large, with two big screen TVs, and the bath was very comfortable with a washing area. The restaurant also has Western, Chinese and Japanese food, all of which are very delicious.

Stinky, dated and very small
Reviewed By DparodyYou can get used to small Japanese hotel rooms but not the stink of cigarette smoke in the room which made it very unpleasant. Bathroom was one of those cruise ship units with some ingenious plumbing for the shower. Best part of the hotel was, unfortunately, the connected Denny's restaurant!

Reviewed By mabei0123I stayed at this hotel several times when I stayed at Mito. It's very close to the Ibaraki Prefecture Government Building. All rooms are clean, breakfast is free and not so bad. There is a good Izakaya next to the hotel.

Reviewed By SportTravel-WorldWe stayed here for our visit to Motegi. This is an older APA hotel with less modern (small) rooms than we stayed eg in Tokyo. Breakfast was very “local” but good toast machine available. Location close the Mito station compensates but next stay we might choose another hotel.

An affordable business hotel with onsen bath in Mito!

It's located in Daikumachi (carpenter town), the night spot with many restaurants and bars in Mito, although it takes 5 -7 min from JR Mito station by buss (170 yen). The onsen bath is for women until 21PM and for men from 21PM-6AM. The rooms are new and stylish, the bed was comfy. The breakfast was good. Overall, this is a good hotel for single business persons!!

Reviewed By alistair_h055We used shim orate as a overnight stay to go to motegi twin ring motor racing circuit. We normally use business hotels and this was above average. Free breakfast included. Staff had little English but we had no problems. There is a bath house on the 1st floor and a lounge. Normal laundry and vending machines. Room was a semi double and normal in size for this kind of hotel. Aircon was hard to work, remote not in English. There are some basic instructions on the wall but still had trouble. The hotel is a 25min walk from the train station or 1000yen taxi ride. There are a few local places to eat and convenience shops. Overall I'd stay closer to the train station
